Cambodian American here - thank you so much for doing this video! This maybe a biased opinion but Cambodian cuisine is SO UNDERRATED and it’s literally one of my favorites in the world! 😅🤤
I love that you go through the history of each culture! So glad you were able to try a Cambodian food! Also love that you take the time to try to pronounce the words!
Actually the sauce with the veggies are for the fried/grilled fish. For the beef lok lak, the sauce that goes with it should be a lime, salt and black pepper dipping sauce. And usually the beef sticks usually/should come with pickle carrots and daikons/papaya.
Got so happy to see this video! Thank you for representing my culture! Yay so happy you’re showing the Cambodian culture! Thank you for taking the time to study! You’re amazing YB 💗
Most of the foods present here look so good. I would love to have it at every meal now that I do not live close where it is availabile. The food also look so beautiful.
My heart is so full to see my culture’s dishes being enjoyed and represented! Your pronunciation of the dishes was so good for someone who is not native. Thank you for showcasing Khmer cuisine!
Loved how you went over the history of Cambodia 🇰🇭 great job selection and variety of Khmer cuisine to try. In regards to the fried fish.., You are supposed to wrap up a piece of the fish with the noodles, herbs and veggies together and dip it in that tamarind sauce. Beef lok lak should be dipped in a lime and pepper sauce. Great job showcasing Khmer cuisine! Much love ❤️
Im from Cambodia❤ Nice video to talk about some food in Cambodia. I'm very excited when i see your reviews about food in Cambodia . Thank you for sharing some food in Cambodia. Best Regards from me ❤ (People of Cambodia❤💏).
prahok ktis is one of my favorite cambodian food. it's one of khmer original, authentic and real dish. it's not copied from other countries. the beef on the stick is also my favorite, too. it's one of khmer oringinal dish with kroueng paste.
I love how you guys are open to trying anything new. It’s hard for me to introduce anything new to my boyfriend so I love seeing how open Herbert is to trying new things.
Thanks for try and share Khmer foods. Yes, it is hard to pronounce the Khmer words but you did it well. Beef stick taste better if you eat them while it's hot and eat with papaya salad. and I wish you have tried "Fish Amok or Chicken Amok". It's one of the most popular Khmer foods. Thanks
Cambodia is recognized as one of the most beautiful countries, with a rich cultural history and the friendliest people. Hopefully, you will visit it one day.
Love that you went over the history as well khmerwell. Your pronunciation was close and the fact that you tried studying how to pronounce it shows your dedication 🙏🇰🇭🎉
I love all the Khmer dishes you tried, but we have more delicious dishes for you to try, such as fish amok, somlaw machu kreung, somlaw kawko, etc…and etc…and don’t forget our delicious deserts too. You should have another video on just khmer deserts. thank you for putting Cambodian food on the map!
First time watching a vid of yours in a while, YB. Didn’t expect the new intro, looked great 👍 I also liked the history of Cambodian food and how it was almost lost during the 1970s. Looking forward to more new, exotic food videos.
Thank you for showcasing Cambodian food. Now you’re making me hungry. Not everybody is adventurous enough to try different food. You two are amazing! 👏👏👏
Glad to see you enjoy our food. You can enjoy the food however you want but if you want to have it like the local. The beef lok lak should go with rice (a fried egg on top will be even better). The curry should go with the noodle like a noodle soup or you can just have it with baguette. The beef stick normally would be serve with pickle vegetable and is amazing as a baguette filling! 😊
7:20 Beef lok lak is server with rice and lime salt and pepper dipping sauce guys, And the basket of greens and rice noodles that you said was supposed to be eaten with the fried crispy fish and the sweet tangy tamarind sauce. Btw thank you guys for enjoying our cuisine. There are more foods waiting for you to try.❤❤❤
The beef loc lak should come with a lime salt and pepper sauce. The brown sauce u dipped was for the fried fish along with the veggies. I enjoyed watching you eat them all. Thank you for trying khmai food. ❤
Some of my favorite Khmer dish. Grilled or deep fried meat are typically washed down or eaten with mango/papaya salad or pickled food. You can drastically change the profile of the curry or nohm-bahn-chok by squeezing lots of lime and sprinkle salt or fish sauce - half of the time, I like mine like that.
The Kuy Teav Phnom Penh you may try when it hot/warm you will like it more. For Beef with the stick you may try with pickles vegetable it would test great. Thank you for sharing Cambodian foods. 🎉🎉❤❤❤
Ur pronunciation is so cuteee and yes thank you for loving our food. U should definitely visit cambodia there’s alot more to try and it’s the hidden gem🤭
Oh my god Cambodian food! Seeing our food represented! Yes! Your pronunciation was actually not bad. I feel like Cambodian reading using Hangul is probably closer to the pronunciation. So many of these dishes are like our home so I’m happy to see you both tried them. A lot of these dishes too are very Khmer-centric in the way that you can’t find them in the surrounding countries. Thank you so much! Or as we say Aw kun chran!
Nice Kuy Teav Phnom Penh is one of best breakfast, you should take it in the morning and soup need to beer hot. thank you for like and view my country food
OMG! You are representing the food of my culture! Thank you so much! You totally made my day! It's reminding me of my college days when I studied Korean in college. It's like a cultural exchange! 😍
Curry Chicken is normally eaten with the Cambodian Rice Noodle or baguettes. The way to eat it with rice noodle is the same as u were eating Khmer noodle (Green soup) with all those veggies and a hint of lemon squeezed.

Also for the curry, it is normally eaten with either the rice or rice noodles like you did or dip it with a French baguette as well.
