Randy Newberg said Idaho has the best bighorn sheep draw odds but you clearly demonstrated NR's not better off in Idaho. great video

Just watched the video and it helped with the understanding of the draw. Question is, if 443 NR applicants put in for Unit 11 and a resident draws the tag, those 443 are out of the pool. Would the odds for the other 1500 NR applicants increase for the other tags? Also I’m sure there are several other hunts that have 100 or more applicants. Seems like this would help the odds for the lesser units.

Max, thank you for your comment! Yes, you are correct in that if a resident does draw unit 11, all of the remaining applicants will have their applications "tossed out". This DOES increase your odds by 2x - 3x. However, realize that these odds are still less than 0.7%. Odds for unit 11 last year were 0.2% (3 times worse).

Does this same draw process apply to moose and mountain goat draws in Idaho?

That's the very same question I had

@@neilrico3907 so I was able to confirm that the draw process is the same for sheep, moose, and goat. Although it was with no help from HF. They told me I had to upgrade my membership to talk to an advisor to find out. That was literally my only question.
