This arc is a 10/10 i will never undertand why most people don't like it
Honestly movies and non Cannon material are CANNON ON MY EYES seriously one piece is about that adventure as long as the non Canon got decent world building and character development it's a done deal 👍
I think its because its sandwiched between two arguably better arcs so by comparison this one doesn't seem as good, but cmon Foxy is such a goof and the arc is so much fun, it get undeserved hate.

I think is mainly of how the adaptation of the anime this with this section,
Like in the manga is like 19 chapter and has a funny and intersting beginning and and awesome ending but, what they did with the anime ruins the pacing. And in the anime it feels more disconnected.
@@milesdeepe isn't a fair comparison, this arc is a comedy/friendly arc, enies lobby has much more drama and action, both are different

This was the only thing I was sooo stressed about Davy Back Fight. Sanji should have just touch Tonjit and THEN save Porche.

that's why there is that slow motion effect.
he had to make a decision in a split second.
to us, it feels like eternity.
but, this is what it feels like when you have the view of the third person and sees EVERYTHING.
so, you have to take into account of how fast time really is moving when it's slowed down. REALISTICALLY.
that part was either a second or less.
so, if you think about touching then saving, you already lost the other because a second went by after you touched the person.

Touching Tonjit = saves Robin.
Since he's chivalrous, he should save both. Touching Tonjit first then saves Porche would take less time than the otherway.
He basically risked not saving Robin to save the other girl.
But sure, touching Tonjit is not directly saving Robin. If that's the case then this is not chivalry. It's perversion.
But then again this part of the arc is filler. So, meh.

even though it's supposed to be fun, it doesn't mean that it can't be stressful and serious at the same time.
it's like pros going against each other. who is to say that they are not having fun ?
this was A LOT more stressful in certain ways than going through what we have gone through.
you had to play by the rules while the others don't/are cheating.
while the other times there was no rules but just one main objective.
you were losing nakama after nakama before your eyes, and you couldn't do anything about it playing these games.
while during the wars, you knew what each person was going to do, ONLY caring about your OWN responsibility.
being sure is way less stressful than not being sure for just a little bit.

the ONLY bad decision(s) that was made, was taking up this game... TWICE.
the ONLY reason why Luffy took up this game was because of PRIDE.
it was still not out of character for Luffy to do this, because the game was mentioned to be something pirates play. knowing Luffy, he doesn't lose, and since it's pirate-esque, he can't back down.
for example, if someone challenges you in something that you are, you are not backing down. if you don't take the challenge, you are a fraud.
that's what Luffy was facing here once Foxy issued the challenge(s)
Luffy WILL ALWAYS ACCEPT THE CHALLENGE
especially if it's by another pirate/related to pirates.

All of these episodes are filler except for Luffy vs Foxy. So you can't judge them by their questionable decision they make in these fillers cuz that not how they make decisions.

it can't be a paradox since One Piece anime fillers follow the episode chronological list
if it didn't matter, it wouldn't continue with the flow of the story's entirety
according from what is given, it does just that
it's more information without really going off of the main story
like it does not feel random at all
just because it's not in the manga and is listed as fillers on the episode guide list doesn't mean that it is not relevant
especially with One Piece
almost all ( maybe all ) of the fillers of One Piece gave us the ( added/missing ) information/picture ahead
preparing us in the future
