    come during the carnival season! very busy and full of people. locals and tourist alike! also there's plenty of activities in trois ilet.....scuba diving, parasailing,beach activities,hiking,horse back riding! also visit the museums and learn the history! also weekdays they close early as you can see....malls close around 7....but there's restaurants and bbq houses late at night and of course the club....there's a couple down there.

      Richard's World Traveler yes. however traffic is terrible around 730 to 10am and 3 to 6pm...yes you kinda have to mingle with the locals...or the tourist desk and department of tourism is right across each other...and gotta make plans ahead to keep busy! but try the carnival days! it's pretty fun and lots of pics!

      @RichardsWorld  6 років тому +9

      I think you might have something personal here. Anyways I should have seen more of Martinique. I only seen 2 areas. Where I stayed was very nice. I didn't like the capital very much though. I ended up talking to more of the locals in Guadeloupe and rented a car there. Guadeloupe does seem more 'simple'. But the people in Guadeloupe are extremely friendly. I think they get less foreigners visting in Guadeloupe. People in Guadeloupe seemed surprised to see an American walking around. In Martinique they didn't think anything about it.

    • @RichardsWorld
      @RichardsWorld  6 років тому +1

      If I said that, I probably shouldn't have. Because this Island and a few others are actually France, and has the French laws. But, on Guadeloupe I see there are a lot of things going on there that are probably illegal, but tolerated. Guadeloupe has lots and lots of Latina 'working ladies' and they aren't exactly hiding. I didn't see that on the other french islands or French Guiana though.

    • @Happey67
      @Happey67 6 років тому

      I see. I think years ago many of these Caribbean Islanders were Christians, law abiding people. They mostly knew their neighbors but things are and have been changing. Things are costly, the economies are very snail pace growth and the Columbians are on some of the islands pushing drugs. etc.

      Why do those who don't know about a place like to give judgment. The place shown here is Fort-de-France, "the capital" so it makes sense that it looks like that. But the further one gets from the capital there are typical Martinican houses and flowers EVERYWHERE (moreover one of the Arawak names of Martinique means the island of flowers or Jounacaëra which means the iguana island because in the city center there are iguanas). And breathtaking landscapes. I plan to open an Instagram account to pay tribute to this island so I will let you know if you are interested.

      @Blackà Đønz Firstly, it is not a colony but a French department since 1946 like Paris and Martinique is also part of the European Union. When you go to Martinique it's like going to France, it's the same rules, the same laws, the services ... But it's not the same culture. The inhabitants of Martinique are French but by their culture not.
