I'm 43. Played for years and years when I was young. Like a fool, I quit.... Now have kids and want them to be into music so I picked it back up a year ago as well.
Having a hard time down picking those muted open E strings fast. Power chords aren't an issue, though adding the muted downstrokes in between is a whole different story as a beginner. Getting hand fatigue fast.

I prefer passive, but a big part of that is not wanting to deal with replacing batteries all the time. I also just prefer the passive pickup sound
