We have URLs pointing to sub-sets.
For example our website has several blogs on it that are derivations of the main topic. I made URLs to point to those.
    Thanks for the video!

Thanks for the video David! So, what I'm getting out of this is that there's no real benefit to purchasing multiple domains (with keywords that you want to rank for) to point to your main URL unless that domain already had a history of traffic from the past. In your case, your old business name was still relevant to some search queries, so you decided to point it to your new website. But in terms of purely using multiple URLs with keywords that you would want to rank for, that would basically just be a waste of time and money, correct?

Yea!!! The only reason I would buy more domains is to protect my brand name but for seo purposes, there is no benefit :)

Hey David great content! Just wanted to ask what if buy different domains and duplicate my website, but then change my website a little bit so it’s not totally the same? Or do you think Google would probably pick that up?

Google will pick it up. Google is literally so smart - lolol

Hi. I have used a domain for about 10 years, in Squarespace. I am changing brand. I have set up my new site on the new domain. As far I as I can tell the best practice is to set up a 301 redirect from the old domain to the new, to preserve any SEO authority. However, I've been having trouble with this so far. So for now I have moved the Old domain, to the New Site within Squarespace - setting the new domain as the primary. Please can you let me know, is this not as good as setting up a 301 redirect for maintaining the authority over to the new domain as much as possible, or is it just as good? What will happen with regards to Google search, now my old domain is disconnected from my old website - will my old site / domain still show up, will it be replaced by me new site / domain, will the old one just disappear and it will take a while for my new one to gain the authority and trust to appear? So confused!

on squarespace, does it matter if you put the www. in front of the primary domain? for example I have 2 primary domains that are the same except for the www. Currently selected the one without fingers crossed haha

It does and doesn’t. Big explanation but simply said choose one and stick with it as long as possible. Overall, try it without the www - that’s the main recommendation.

If you are a master in SEO then why not try on your own channel.
You have less subscribers and views.😳

Happy new year 2023 to you David ! It's a little little bit sad that you cannot use an dedicated ip with squarespace.
To seo: Some people have bigger websites and ranking multiple spots in search results with multiple domains who have similar names (example: Dan Lok) similar domain name would be like this: davidseo(com), davidwriter, davidcoach and so on, each sites has different content topics, but within the same niche and the main site has links in the footer out to these other website url's.
My theory is with this strategy google will showing multiple spots from your sites in search results. Correct me if i wrong.

So what I'm talking about is different domains to 1 actual website. If you have multiple sites with multiple domains, yes you can get them to rank! But not advised as it could cause issues if Google sees duplicated sites! :) Crush it Markus!
