I watched this a week and a half ago - now I am starting my pjs! Came back because I couldn't wrap my head around the pocket instructions! So clear and such a great view! THANK YOU!
Lauren, these Pj"s are gorgeous! I loved the sew along tutorial even though it is completely out of my very beginner level. Seeing you sew with such delicacy and neatness really inspires me to try harder, take my time and be as precise as possible. Also I feel like I always learn something new watching your videos. Thank you for sharing! Have a wonderful weekend!
Thank you so much Marlene! Making this video was a reminder to my self to slow down and take things one step at a time-- I'm so glad you find my videos informative! Have a great weekend!
I did these pajamas as my first ever sewing project, and I liked it so much that now I'm making 3 more sets for Christmas presents. You can do it! For me the hardest part was the shirt pockets, which is why I'm watching this video. You can do the whole thing with this tutorial!
I would be proud of myself if I could finish a project like this too! The pants are enough for me to try wrapping my head around~ The shirt can be for another day lol
Thanks for making this video. First time to find you as I was searching for Closet Core Carolyn Pj’s! I just cut the first pair of short ones out of linen with contrasting linen piping and thought I’d find someone who had already sewn them! You do a wonderful job of teaching and a joy to listen to your voice. Thanks so much. I’ll sew them up in the morning!
Thank you so much for sharing this. I've felt completely intimidated by the idea of making pyjamas but it now feels like something I might be able to do! Creating this video must have taken you ages.
Thank yo so much 4 showing me how to sew this PJ set Lauren! I'm also a beginner to sewing and watching you sew soo neatly inspires me to keep trying❤. Always watching from Suriname🤗
Thank you for this video! I’ve struggled with the pattern (or parts of it) for years. Your video made it incredibly easy to understand and, now that I get what I’m doing, I’m really enjoying the sew! Thank you so much!!!
Ahhh love this! I was looking forward to your sewalong; thank you for taking the time to put it together! Your pajamas came out lovely! The pop of piping looks great against the darker fabric 🤍💙🌸
This was so helpful as I completed the shorts version of these as my first garment sewing project ever!! Couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you!!
Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial, it was so helpful. I just sewed the pyjama bottoms today and it turned out nice. I am 5' 2" so the pant legs were too long for me, I have to cut off about 1.5 inches, will fix it tomorrow 😊
I’ve probably now watched this 50 times at least, and today finished making a calico prototype for my husband after a two day sew marathon. It’s tricky, especially around the collar but a giant thank you from here! I’ve learnt so so much, made some pattern adjustments and now looking forward to making it out of a cotton material and after that hopefully silk. Really fantastic video, thanks you!
I started these pjs about 3 years ago. I got stuck on a couple of things and gave up. I don’t do much garment sewing. I decided to start again today and your video was so helpful 😊 I should finish this today…..finally 😂
I have not touched my sewing machine since September and have only been making quilt tops but after watching this video several times I made a pair of pj pants. Love the piping and the pockets so much! I even added piping to the pocket edge which is super cute and fun. Thanks for a great tutorial!!!
Thank you for this video. I am currently making some pyjamas very like this and attaching piping which I have never done before. It's helped me so much. Your instructions are very clear and great to see the project from beginning to end.
Thank you so much for a great tutorial. The shorts went together fine based on the instructions, but I was really struggling with the pocket and the collar. Your video was much clearer.
These are the most comfy pj’s I have ever made. I have them in linen and a wonderful cotton. All three are worn over and over! You won’t be disappointed!
I am having difficulty sewing the lapel collar. My corner did not meet nicely but I will try again with a cotton fabric this time. I don't know why I thought making this pajama with a silky fabric on my first run would be a good idea..... lesson learned, and I am new to garment sewing lol
Love your calming vices and videos. A tip : at end of the stitching sew on a piece of fabric , so you don’t need to cut the tread again & again , so it won’t be waisted . Hope you don’t mind
Question for ya, I don’t have a serger so how someone like me make the stitches last longer and stronger? I hope that makes sense, I am totally noob and don’t know the “correct” terminology just yet but I’m learning by watching your beautifully crafted videos!
Hey Stephanie! I used a zigzag stitch on my sewing machine before I had a serger! You can set the stitches to be more close together, and it finishes the edges of seams nicely! The only real difference is that it wont cut away the excess fabric, so just trim your seam beforehand if you like. I hope this helps! ❤️
I have all my stuff ready to make these pjs including the piping. You made a lovely set. Gorgeous infact. What is the rise like on the bottoms as in trousers I usual add 1 inch to the crotch depth?
Thank you so much Bev! I find them a little lower rise (they sit more on my hips than my waist) so if you prefer higher rise, definitely add a bit. Thanks for watching!
I’m watching this video to see if I can REMOVE stitches to let DOWN the pants and sleeves on my plush PJ’s I got. It appears that I can’t for fear of losing the entire cuff off of both legs and sleeves. Am I correct? 😢
I am really looking forward to sewing this pattern. Thank you! And may I ask... are you intentionally cutting your fabric with scissors rather than a rotary cutter for some reason, or just habit/convenience? I love cutting with scissors but recently started using the rotary cutter more often because my confidence was shaken. I was hearing more and more that the scissors method leads to a less accurate cut. My projects tend to lean towards Imperfection no matter what I do (LOL), but I started to think it was my scissors. Any insights to the scissors vs. rotary decision? Many thanks.
When you do a zig zag stitch, do you do the ‘zig’ on the fabric and the ‘zag’ at the very very edge, or away from the fabric, kinda onto the sewing machine plate? It’s details like that I need as a beginner? Maybe I’m asking too many questions and should just try it. 😂
You want the entirety of the stitch on the fabric. Zigzag isn’t overcast. Your machine may have an overcast stitch and that works best with an overcast foot.
These are so beautiful!! Thank you for this very clear sew-along! I haven’t finished watching it yet, so I apologize if this is covered, but: It looks as though you are using a woven cotton fabric. Do you think these could also be made with a soft knit, and if so, would the sewing process be much different? Thanks!
Excellent tutorial! Thank you. Is your fabric a quilting cotton? It looks so pretty and smooth after being washed. I'm sure you ironed it, but does it get all wrinkled after wearing the pjs? Thanks again!
I watched this a week and a half ago - now I am starting my pjs! Came back because I couldn't wrap my head around the pocket instructions! So clear and such a great view! THANK YOU!
This makes me so happy! Thank you Amy!!
Absolutely Gorgeous. You are so talented. Watching from Australia
Goodness me, I would wear these to the shops 😊
So happy to find a channel that does step-by-step video. I'm a beginning sewer and the visual lesson really helps.

Lauren this is a STUNNING PJ set! Love the fabric and style along with your detail process of putting this beauty together.

Thank you so much. I wanted to make these pj's for a long Time but wasn't sure I could manage. Thanks to you everything is crystal clear 👍
Thank you so much for doing this incredibly detailed and clear video!
Beautifully done! You have that right about pulling the gathering stitches through for a nicer sleeve head!
Working on these now. The collar is rough for a beginner. ❤❤❤
These came out beautifully and you made it look so easy! I love your fabric choice too. Maybe one day I will tackle these 😁
Thank you so much for sharing this. I've felt completely intimidated by the idea of making pyjamas but it now feels like something I might be able to do! Creating this video must have taken you ages.
Thank u sooo much it was really satisfying to watch 😍🥰 ,I'm beginner at sewing I wanna make videos one day I hope 😊
What a lovely set of pjs! 😍 Great tip on sewing the waistband, so it doesn’t turn around in the waistband.
Thank you so much! ❤️
Thank you so much for filming this. I couldn't understand the pant pocket instructions on the pattern. Your PJs are gorgeous 🤩 Great job!
Very nicely done. I like adding my piping while the fabric is still flat.
Wish I’ve found your channel earlier but it’s better to be late than never. Love it 👍👍👍
Aw, thank you so much Joyce! So happy to have you here! ❤️❤️

That turned out great. Thanks for sharing.
A very elegant PJ. Thanks for the lesson.
Ahhh love this! I was looking forward to your sewalong; thank you for taking the time to put it together! Your pajamas came out lovely! The pop of piping looks great against the darker fabric 🤍💙🌸

Omg. Absolutely gorgeous Lauren. Congrats they are stunning. You are soooo talented. 🌺🌸❤️
Thank you so much Wendy!! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial, it was so helpful. I just sewed the pyjama bottoms today and it turned out nice. I am 5' 2" so the pant legs were too long for me, I have to cut off about 1.5 inches, will fix it tomorrow 😊

Beautiful pajamas & great sew along! Looking forward to starting this pattern this week!

Really fantastic video, thanks you!
Thank you so much for sharing this!! Well done on your prototype, and I'm so glad the video was helpful!!
This is great! I wondered what went into making a set like this and if I could do it. Very helpful and well filmed 😊
I started these pjs about 3 years ago. I got stuck on a couple of things and gave up. I don’t do much garment sewing. I decided to start again today and your video was so helpful 😊 I should finish this today…..finally 😂

I have a cloak pattern I have been wanting to make too! ❤great job!
Superb tutorial thank you ❤

Thank you for this video. These PJ's are really cute. Have you ever made summer PJ's, if so can you do a video showing how to do them. Thank you
Thank you so very much! I made a beautiful pyjama set ❤
So Beautiful!! Love the step by step sew along also, very clear.
Thank you so much Debbie! I’m so glad it was clear! 😊
Thank you for the detailed tutorial - I have been wanting to sew a pair of pajamas with piping detail but was intimidated. Keep up the great content!
Thank you so much for a great tutorial. The shorts went together fine based on the instructions, but I was really struggling with the pocket and the collar. Your video was much clearer.
Thank you! This is a wonderful tutorial
Lovely♡ Great work Lauren. Your videos are so clear and helpful. This pattern does not seem so scary now, definitely adding this one to my list!
These are the most comfy pj’s I have ever made. I have them in linen and a wonderful cotton. All three are worn over and over! You won’t be disappointed!
Thanks for a great video on the Carolyn pajamas. I just purchased the pattern and I am looking forward to making it.
Very clear tutorial! And absolutely love how you used your fabric. Thankyou
Thank you so much Jenny! So glad you found it clear!
I hope you do more tutorials like this one. It was perfect. On my second pair of the shorts.
This was a great tutorial thank you
Thank you so much!!! I have been having some difficulty with this pattern and you explained it so concisely. Looking forward to trying it again.
I'm so glad you found it helpful Jennifer! Let me know if you give it another try! 🥰
These are a dream!!
I was so focused on your pinning the pocket, then i suddenly realised we have the same ironing board cover 😅. Great tutorial btw. Really helpful
Outstanding, thank you so much!!!
Thank you so much Sherry! ❤️
I actully have a pair of pajamas nearly identical to version C. Might have to add this to my list of patterns to buy.
If you butt the elastic ends together and zigzag rather than overlap, there is less bulk. Cute pj's!
Great tip, thanks for sharing Marilyn!!
Beautiful!
Wow! This turned out phenomenal. Really nice work!! Just the sewing pattern I was looking for.
Great Job love the print!!
Great Tutorial. Thank you
Thank you so much Norah! ❤️
A brilliant sew a long, really in-depth.The pyjamas are beautiful and seem too lovely to only wear in bed.
enjoyed the tutorial. I'm going for it. The issue I have is getting both sides to look the same on the shirt.
Thanks!
Aw, thank you so much Traci!!! 💙
Well done. Excellent tutorial.
Thank you so much!
I have the same sewing machine you do and I would love to know what settings you use to make your buttonholes. Great video. I learned a lot!
Beautiful
Did anyone catch how many yards of fabric she used?
I am having difficulty sewing the lapel collar. My corner did not meet nicely but I will try again with a cotton fabric this time. I don't know why I thought making this pajama with a silky fabric on my first run would be a good idea..... lesson learned, and I am new to garment sewing lol
Wonderful thank you
Thanks for watching Lorraine!!
Love your calming vices and videos.
A tip : at end of the stitching sew on a piece of fabric , so you don’t need to cut the tread again & again , so it won’t be waisted .
Hope you don’t mind
Thank you so much, and thank you for the tip! I’m always open to learning better ways to do things! ❤️
I’m so glad you liked it , learning never ends . Thanks for your reply
Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial 🥰. Can I get the details of you sewing machine?
Question for ya, I don’t have a serger so how someone like me make the stitches last longer and stronger? I hope that makes sense, I am totally noob and don’t know the “correct” terminology just yet but I’m learning by watching your beautifully crafted videos!

Can you do another video like this maybe some summer pjs
Loved this video!! Thank you!!
I have all my stuff ready to make these pjs including the piping. You made a lovely set. Gorgeous infact. What is the rise like on the bottoms as in trousers I usual add 1 inch to the crotch depth?

Waaaooo super nicee.!!....thank you
great job
So fun!
Thank you!!
Can I get the size guidelines please it would be very helpful
Love this video. I am so making these. Tell me, I am a plus size. Would you say the printed pattern sizes are running true?
How many yard of fabric do we need to make like this pajama for 40 size ?
I’m watching this video to see if I can REMOVE stitches to let DOWN the pants and sleeves on my plush PJ’s I got. It appears that I can’t for fear of losing the entire cuff off of both legs and sleeves. Am I correct? 😢
how many mm's thick is the piping cord please? thanks
This is very helpful, but for those of us without a serger do you think French seems would work?
I am really looking forward to sewing this pattern. Thank you! And may I ask... are you intentionally cutting your fabric with scissors rather than a rotary cutter for some reason, or just habit/convenience? Great video! How much fabric with 150cm width is needed for the set (I'm 5'3" tall)?
When you do a zig zag stitch, do you do the ‘zig’ on the fabric and the ‘zag’ at the very very edge, or away from the fabric, kinda onto the sewing machine plate? It’s details like that I need as a beginner? Maybe I’m asking too many questions and should just try it. 😂
You want the entirety of the stitch on the fabric. Zigzag isn’t overcast. Your machine may have an overcast stitch and that works best with an overcast foot.
From where I can get that pattern cut out?
These are so beautiful!! Thank you for this very clear sew-along! I haven’t finished watching it yet, so I apologize if this is covered, but: It looks as though you are using a woven cotton fabric. Do you think these could also be made with a soft knit, and if so, would the sewing process be much different? Thanks!
Can I wear it out? Not only indoors
Are there a similar free pattern ?
Where can i get this pattern please?
Please am searching for d pattern on ur channel but i couldn't find it. please where is d tutorial for d pattern?
Dream pyjamas x
Thank you so much Jenni!!
Did you have to do much adjusting to make the pattern fit you well ???
Excellent tutorial! Thank you. Is your fabric a quilting cotton? It looks so pretty and smooth after being washed. I'm sure you ironed it, but does it get all wrinkled after wearing the pjs? Thanks again!
Thank you! It is quilting cotton, and I actually don’t find that it gets too wrinkly over time!
Why do you use a 5/8 seam allowance?
It's pretty standard to use 5/8 on US sewing patterns! I just use whatever the pattern calls for. Thanks for watching!
