Funny how when you act respectful and don't curse the cops out, they often let you off with a warning. "White privilege".
16:48 "so what have we learned overall?"
Well, firstly, you have no memory of where you see cops 🚓 lying in wait.
Secondly, you have a heavy right foot.🏎️
Love the videos Jason kept me occupied during lockdown 😷 these past months 👍
He is driving, talking to a camera, trying to an interesting one way conversation, and explaining tons of test results and walking us through his analysis. I don’t think i would remember the cop either 🤷♂️
He wouldn't have pulled you if you had your hat on the right way round.

0:37 'everything works'
So thats what that means. I thought that kind of dash was a problem, but the more lights the better :)
By "everything" he means all the lights in the dash are working
Isn’t that a Subaru thing, or is it a Volkswagen? I have seen that if the Christmas tree isn’t lit up, you don’t have a real Subaru, or Volkswagen.
John Simun that's VW lmao
So the warning lights passed a function check... 😉

0:36 "everything works" yeah those 10 warning lights definitely work
the more the lights the better😎😎
Aren't they awards/badges/achievements?
This shot was when the car was being flashed with a new tune, and so all lights are on as the car is essentially in some sort of diagnostic mode. The RPM gauge is a measure of the tune being uploaded at that point, ie. RPM readout is 'tune upload progress' as it sweeps from 0-8k RPM.

He does a great job in explaining the differences and the way it is/feels. I have a 1978 Moskvich 412, 1.5 litre straight 4, NA. Trying to find a supercharger for this.
That engine is a slightly improved clone of a BMW engine circa 1942. It's actually easy to work on.
Well done Jason! :D
We once went to the "Essen Motor Show" in Germany, in the Morning we passed a new speed camera, noticed it like "oh look, they build a new speed camera there, good to know". Some hours later on our way home, my brother was driving.... FLASH! xD
We all forgot about the newly build speed camera. ^^
Whenever I see "NA" my mind immediately translates it to "not available" and I'm like: Why are you showing us a chart with data that is not available?
NA means Popup Headlights for a Miata
His ND Miata used to be NA like the NA Miata.
@@yessitsme6884 It was mainly a joke
I always read it as North America, as compared to the European version
There are 5 NA that I used:
-Engine: Naturally Aspirated
-Location: North America
-Avaiablility: Not Available
-MX-5: That have pop up headlights
-NSX: The oldest NSX
Memorizing this for when/if I get pulled over for DWB 👀... perfecting his tone too. Haha all these comments giving me great ideas, thanks

"Officer, I saw you on the way in and you looked bored, so I thought I'd give you a chance to hit that gas pedal and wind it up for a minute. I know you guys gotta love that torque." - got me out of a 15-over ticket last year.
...either that or it was the reckless driver call he got while standing at my window - ya' think?
I've gotten out of an 81 in a 65 ticket before for that exact reason.
I wasn't even on the throttle for the entire mile before I saw him. Gotta love them old Taurus sedans lol
And I allowed a local cop to play with his brand new V8 Durango police unit by doing 56 in a 45. of course they also know me and my car well enough they don't tend to give me too much trouble.
The best lesson for this video (accidental lesson) was the proper way that you interacted with the Officer. You being well mannered, polite, and respectful to the Officer is what got you off with a verbal warning and made the traffic stop go much faster! Great job Jason!!
Normally I would agree but the officer said hed give Jason a warning right away. It was the second thing he said. Secondly, I'm always "yessir, no sir" with police and ive gotten plenty of bs tickets
I did the same thing many years ago in my 1970 Torino GT. Drove right by and saw him, then came back that way a while later and forgot he was there while having a bit of fun. The officer was not nearly as amused and gave me a ticket .
I was hoping you’d tell the officer: “Sorry officer, but my VTEC kicked in for my Miata!” 🤣
"what did we learn out of all of this?" Always remember where you saw the cop and then go the speed limit 😂
Thanks for sharing the interaction with the officer. It was fun to watch.

Data v anecdote! Yes! My favorite quote on this is "The plural of anecdote is NOT data." Happens all the time in medicine.
So relevant now too
Well we aren't in the Dark ages, and our understanding of physiology and medicines have come a long way, Unfortunately a lot of "data" in medicine is built on the aggregation of many examples of anecdotal evidence.
@@robertt9342 Too bad we can't just rip people open and inspect the problem areas to find out ourselves like we can with cars and computers. Not with a state trooper ever, sometimes local cops can be pretty lenient if they are having a good day. I got pulled over in my town once doing 21 in a 15 and he got a several hundred dollar speeding ticket and a really long lecture from a pissed off cop, for driving 21 mph
I keep finding myself coming back to the Miata. Yes, there are (arguably) better performing cars out there after you tally all the costs of upgrading/modifying your Miata, BUT they won’t have the size or appeal of a Miata. ALSO, the joy and memories of installing all that gear yourself is priceless. LOVE small cars and can’t wait to get back into a Miata…
That was an Amazing encounter with the cop!!!
Moral of the story... if you caught speeding, just explain the mechanical ins and outs of your car😌😌😌
