I've had a few grails fall into my lap. Over my fifty two years of collecting. Most were coverless copies. But I did buy a Tales of Suspense #39. In Sept of 86 at Jelly's comics in Honolulu, Hawaii. I saw it on the wall behind the counter. Just as I was getting a few newer back issues/ new comics. I asked how much after I looked it over. It was bagged/boarded. Around a 8.0 he replied $50. I almost ripped my pocket off my new blue jeans. Trying to get my new crisp $50 bill out for it. I wish I would have put it in a safety deposit box in a bank. Or bought a safe and store it in that. Sigh! Man you guys really hit the jackpot. The TOS #39 and FF #1 are in incredible condition. WOW!
Whoa! Another amazing story. while you can’t share all the details, I do appreciate how much you did share. I love the fact that your channel is not just what you sold or what the top 10 comics of the week are. Others already do that, but you provide us with something different every time. Thank you
My biggest score on a lot of comic books came when I was in Jr. high school in 1972 in the 9th grade at a Goodwill thrift store. I called my mother and told her to go to the bank and pull out as much money as she could which was about $50.00. What comes to memory of what was in the bunch was a copy of HULK #6 and a copy of A.S.M. #6 and about 50+ other early .12 cent marvel and DC silver age. Also in August I travel to Chicago and bought a copy of J.L.A. #1 IN A BOOK STORE FOR .25 CENTS. Those were the days.
My FF5 was like that. The marvel chipping was there from the get go. Had to do with the blades doing the cutting. Great find...preserve that stuff for generations to come!
Preserved perfectly for ages then in a blink of an eye, someone comes along and unknowingly costs themselves 10's of thousands of dollars by being rough with handling them.
Wow. ... this is what I look for. My day will come. I hit estate sales and I always check before I go if it was seniors who past on. Hoping I'll run into old comics stored and forgotten.... Very nice find* Good Luck with future finds.
I’ve been delivering mail for the last 20 years, I’ve come across so many magazine collections that people are just throwing away, all I can think about is what if they were comics in there and I have to pull myself away from the pile and not sit there for an hour and go through them
This story is VERY motivational! I just went to a local Comic Show and seen a graded FF#1 being offered for $12K.....I can only IMAGINE what yours will go for when it's graded. Very happy for you and your team
I'm not a constant viewer, but I'll check in more often for uplifting stories like this. The FF#1 is beautiful with those vibrant colors. Best wishes on the grades.
Coming from a lifelong comic collector such as myself this is TRULY one of the most Incredible finds i've ever seen - We all live for this let me tell you, you are Very Blessed my friend.👍👍 * Side Note; If I ran across the very first issue of the Fantastic Four (Silver Age) I would have passed out - Seriously LOL
Congrats man! It's cool that you have the rep where others call you and share such big boy books with you and also cool that you advertise for the local comic shops.
Bry (and Jason), CONGRATULATIONS!! My favorite part of this incredible discovery is the collaborative energy that you all brought to it. Instead of one person scoring at the expense of anyone, you all have made this win-win for each party. You're even thinking through how you can have this benefit the presser (after their contribution to the group's success is done). Awesome, awesome, awesome!!!
I would love to see you do a video on how to get started with comic investing/ dealing. Like how much do you need as an initial investment $500 or $5000. I don’t see any content creators really talking a out how to start.
The best way to start is to start. It’s so nuanced and there are many different avenues to take…I do have a playlist called the blueprint for flipping 👍
Wow you have done it again Bry! Every time I think you’ve hit your once in a lifetime find for your shop you go and do it again. Congratulations for getting brought in on this deal your reputation and knowledge speaks for itself! 👏👏💰💰👏👏 “So you’re saying there’s a chance” 😂😂
Very nice finds. I recently came across books in a hoarder house and found a hulk 340, amazing spiderman 300, secret wars 8, wolverine 10, and some of the other McFarlane Hulk issues. All in very good shape. I Posted my finds in an online in a comic collectors group and was called a liar. And told I must have purchased them at a shop. Lol
I love all of your videos but none of them have made me more exited than this one. How awesome to think waiting in houses in America ( not to mention your own backyard) there are gems in the wild waiting to be found. Congratulations on being part of such a cool find....!!!!! You are living the dream my friend..... working with what you enjoy 👏👏👏
Neat. My ToS 39 has the blue and half the quotes and got off-white to white pages. It got a 5.0 but purple label for slight color touch... but I'm guessing it is worth way more than I paid for it now. :D
Amazing find! I too have had that sort of luck lately, except the top 4 books from my recent attic find were 3 copies of Turok 1 and a Superman 75. 🙃 Seriously though, I'm very glad those ended up in your hands and not the hands of a shyster or even worse...thrown out with the rest of the magazines. Who knows what actually WAS thrown away that had value.
Newish to slabs but are you nervous about sending those off to be graded? Are there special precautions or special insurance? Also I’m super curious what kind of deal the seller got/gets? Flat offer? Percentage of graded value?
in the late 1990s i found 300 golden age comics cleaning an old attic they were mixed up in two giant boxes of life magazines at that time i did not know a thing about comics...i offred to clean the attic for someone and the deal was if i found any old toys and stuff like that i could keep them...i collected old windup toys so i started the job and when i started breaking the two giant boxes of life magazines down i started finding stacks of golden age comics under the life magazines and that is what got me loving golden age comics.. when i pulled a wonder comics # 14 with a great good girl cover by schomburg that is what hooked me with golden age comics the thing is imagine what else is out there to be discovered
Love to hear Jason’s thoughts on LCS bulk purchasing of a collection. Specifically how seller can optimize value to them: I.e bagging and boarding all books, sorting and providing a detailed specific inventory, trade, consign, etc… does anyone of that which saves him time or other adjuncts increase sellers value.
Great work and great finds, as usual. Hoping that you get that million dollar score. (Obviously, this happened before your transparency video that just came out the other day)
Wow - that is some grail ***t there - Nice that Jason included you in there - defiantly interested in the results - as far as questions for Jason maybe he could answer some questions about what they’ve seen in the market as far as trends, 1 shots , gimmick covers, exclusives etc. Is there value there and are most worth it or not? Thanks Bry

Oh, wow... I just missed this one! Well, I'm here now and I'll definitely get in on the next one
Whoa! Another amazing story. while you can’t share all the details, I do appreciate how much you did share. Thank you my friend!
Thats the stuff dreams are made of.....WOW!!! The colors just pop, and they are in great condition for the age. Congratulations!!
Wild. I was tempted to work something out for the ToS 39 but that might be a little too high grade. Congrats on the legendary find.
Wow that's nuts. I need to start asking old ladies everywhere if they need help cleaning their attics 😆
😂😂😂😂not a bad idea, seriosuly

10 Cents becomes 1 million ! Could not think of a better return for a dime.
My FF5 was like that. The marvel chipping was there from the get go. Had to do with the blades doing the cutting. Great find...preserve that stuff for generations to come!
This was incredibly informative. Thank you. And congratulations! :)
How lucky that they just didn't throw away the magazines in the garbage, not knowing the comics were hidden inside-what a treasure🤑
Can you imagine how many times books like that HAVE been tossed out like trash???
😭😭😭 😩😩😩
Such an awesome find and story! Congratulations on being fortunate enough to be pulled into this amazing situation!
Preserved perfectly for ages then in a blink of an eye, someone comes along and unknowingly costs themselves 10's of thousands of dollars by being rough with handling them.
A dream for collectors and thank God that we're not lost.
Wow. ... this is what I look for. My day will come. I hit estate sales and I always check before I go if it was seniors who past on. Hoping I'll run into old comics stored and forgotten.... Very nice find* Good Luck with future finds.
That's incredible! Congrats to everyone!
HOLY!!!!! Congratulations on this fantastic deal! These really are the things of dreams.
Collaboration in the community of Comics is amazing! love hearing that
Couldn’t happen to a more honest guy. Congratulations!
Wow! This is beyond Pawn Stars or Antiques Roadshow!
Holy cow that is incredible.
😳😲😍 Oh wow! That’s crazy! This is definitely one of those stories that we would all love to experience some day! 👍🏾😀
I’ve been delivering mail for the last 20 years, I’ve come across so many magazine collections that people are just throwing away, all I can think about is what if they were comics in there and I have to pull myself away from the pile and not sit there for an hour and go through them
This is the stuff dreams are made of;
Incredible!
Congratulations!
Will be one epic CGC unboxing.
Wow!! What a crazy story. That's a awesome find and yes this is something we dream about.
Man! I can’t believe how lucky you guys are!
This story is VERY motivational! I just went to a local Comic Show and seen a graded FF#1 being offered for $12K.....I can only IMAGINE what yours will go for when it's graded. Very happy for you and your team
Amazing find. I’m sure there were some other cool books in that box. That FF is extraordinary.

Congrats to you and Jason for picking up these grails. Amazing condition, and pretty cool giving a shout out for Jason too
I'm not a constant viewer, but I'll check in more often for uplifting stories like this. The FF#1 is beautiful with those vibrant colors. Best wishes on the grades.
So fortunate they didn't get tossed!
💯🙏🏻
Just incredible. I'm putting on gloves to go through old boxes from now on.
What unbelievable luck! Hopefully everything works out perfectly and like you, I will keep hoping to come across those grails
Congrats man! It's cool that you have the rep where others call you and share such big boy books with you and also cool that you advertise for the local comic shops.
💯🙏🏻
Gotta love a hoarder! Congratulations on the amazing find!! Good luck selling them.
Glad these amazing comics were saved from the trash heap! I am sad that the Mads and other magazines were thrown out, but you saved the best!
Such an amazing find, and a great story. I'm sure you'll never get tired of talking about this find
I always wish that every book gets the best possible grade it deserves, not for money reasons but I think every book should be kept the best they can
This is luck of the Irish ☘️ most of the time people just throw away the books and magazines when people end up dying.

I’ll check it out but considering what you’re saying I think it would be interesting to hear about your unique journey.

Amazingly lucky find. There are more out there just waiting to be found.
That looks like the same building that used to house "The Penny Ranch" which was also a comic shop in the 1980s...
Yep, same family
Just amazing to say the least! Thank you for sharing
Newish to slabs but are you nervous about sending those off to be graded? Are there special precautions or special insurance? Also I’m super curious what kind of deal the seller got/gets? Flat offer? Percentage of graded value?
Insurance at every turn, and yes a reasonable fee of the sale price
@@BrysComics I have a pretty rare comic but I will wait till you can drop it off and pick it up in person. Hope they offer that service eventually.
That's amazing ! Would just love to see in person. May never see this again !

I thoroughly enjoyed this video Brian. I watched it twice , you always bring a wealth of knowledge to your channel.

(Obviously, this happened before your transparency video that just came out the other day)
Wow, really hoping that fantastic four 1 pulls that 9.2 grade from CGC!!!
That is an awesome find. I wish I found some like that some day.
DAAAAAAAANNNNNG, congrats on becoming rich!
Insane find! Wow! Congrats, this is literally a once in a lifetime find. Well, probably closer to a million lifetimes!
Hopefully you kept the magazines. I collect Mad magazines and it would sad if they were thrown out.
I was saying the same thing. There could have been some expensive magazines in there.
Holy crap..u gotta keep us updated..1 of each of these books on the market in this condition is exciting
Wow, thanks for sharing this find. Such a great story. 👍
Awesome find cant wait for update on grades
