There is no such thing as too much ABBA. Keep them coming, Amber! 👍🏻😊
That's KC and the Sunshine band
Talk about bell bottoms
When All Is Said and Done is the breakup song of Frida and Benny while The Winner Takes It All is about the earlier breakup of Agnetha and Bjorn.
Enjoy 😍❤
Truly one of the greatest pop group ever.
ABBA....often imitated, NEVER duplicated!
Touche.
I agree. There is something about their voice that is magic...and they didnt need auto tune to accomplish it!!!
“If It Wasn’t For the Nights” is another worth checking!
"Sipping Through My Fingers" will getcha in the feels, especially as parents with young kids.
Oh, yes! I keep hoping they will react to that one, it's one of my absolute favorite Abba songs.
Yes, please!!!
"Under Attack" and "The Day Before You Came" are two of my favourite Abba songs of the ones written towards the end of the group.
Under Attack was the ABBA formula done really well, The Day Before You Came and The Visitors did superb alienated electronica...I wonder where they might have gone next had they continued.
@@user-hc2cz6uu3xthat's what I always thought. They would have turned into a synth band with amazing vocals
Yes in fact The Day Before You Came was the last song ABBA recorded ( before tracks for Voyage of course!)
Dancing queen pleaseeee❤❤
Was number 1 when I was born. My God I'm old.
Andante, Andante is a great one by ABBA.
an underrated ABBA gem! ♥ You guys gotta check out their song: Summer Night City
'' Thank you for the music '' is worth a listen.
Great song.. these 2 couples were couples before ABBA was a group. The men worked together after they left their prospective groups and introduced their ladies to each other. The girls did some backup vocals for the guys. The guys quickly realized what they had and the rest is history. This song is about Frida and Bennys break up. Benny got another woman, Mona, pregnant and left Frida for her. In the next video, one of us, Frida had become so depressed she chopped off all her beautiful red hair. They tried to fix it but it ended up she wore a headband. Once it grew out it looked better and she died it lilac/purple.You can see how sad she looks. One of us was filmed right before the divorce was final. Weeks later Benny married Mona. Just weeks after that their son Ludvig was born. Oddly enough, it is Ludvig who is one of the masterminds of the Voyage concerts.
Gorgeous song!! It is not full of tension it is full of forgiveness and realism.
It is full of those last two things you mentioned, although it's up to Frida to forgive and not Bjorn, but there is definitely tension as well. You can hear this especially if you listen to the Demo version.
You should really check out these Abba songs: Summer Night City, Andante Andante, Voulez-Vous, Like An Angel Passing Through My Room, On And On And On and finally The Way Old Friends Do. For the last one I recommend you check out the live performance from Wembly in 1979.
Like An Angel Passing Through My Room is practically unknown and so beautiful. Sung by Frida.
Amber, you can play ABBA anytime you want to, and I won't mind a bit!
If you want a happy fun song as a palate cleanser, try "Ring Ring." The costumes in the video alone will absolutely entertain you. And you still have to do a couple of their more disco type classics, "Voulez Vous" and "On and On and On." But you can't go wrong with them. Happy, sad, disco or accoustic, I'll practically break a finger clicking on your ABBA reactions every single time.
Another fun one and equally catchy is "Honey Honey".
'Voulez Vous",what a vibrant disco-rock anthem.Such tight perfect vocals no one could craft them better than them.Certainly Abba were never 'monochromatic".Same group who did 'Ring Ring",'Honey Honey" and 'Mamma Mia" also did the majestic prog rock 'Eagle" the sophisticated 'Move On' , the hard glam 'Watch Out",the adventurous synth haunting ''The Visitors" that was quite political alert song, the cinematically poetic 'The DaY before you Came'".Abba's surprising juke box had em all.
We all love Abba now let's watch Mamma Mia please
done -ua-cam.com/video/6Hv_YWVlDRU/v-deo.html
there's not too many hits left they haven't done
@@leoleopard7035 Umm, there’s about 10-15 more hits they haven’t done. Abba basically only have hits 😂
And MM2???
@@philipekdahl5283 lol i should have clarified.. what i meant was chart topping hits.. like top 10.
Yes they still have plenty more hits, but not many more that reached top 10.. not in Aus anyway
@@leoleopard7035 I think their hardcore fan base (like me - loving them since 1978) want then to do ALL the songs. Haha!
Andante Andante is another great song by Abba, sung by Frida.
I'm suggesting One Man One Woman next. Its Frida led, and has such a malancholia surrounding the song, with Frida singing her heart out with so much emotions and sensitivity, beautifully stunning ❤
Yeah, it's beautiful.
I can't believe you all haven't done ABBA song I do I do I do I do I do. If you love saxophone in a song this is the song.
It's one of their earliest songs and a happy one
One of Frida’s finest, out of many brilliant songs. Vocally, this song gives us a taste of what Frida’s solo career after ABBA would sound like. In ABBA, the men tended to write songs for her that remained in her mid and lower registers, which showcases how sexy and sultry she could sound, but Frida has such huge range that she can sing nearly as high as Agnetha (maybe even higher in her head voice… check out her live performance of En Ledin Dag), also, and in her upper register she has a slight edge that lends itself well to more harder, rockier songs. Both of these women were incredibly talented vocalists in their own right and they deserve to be considered among the best pop singers of all time.
This song is a testament to their credibility and intelligence. They go back to their folk roots, singing about real life milestones but with a 1980s new-age flair that was still catchy. I think they closed out their legendary journey in a beautiful way by getting back together. It shows that their magic was always there, and still is. Like Fleetwood Mac, the identity of ABBA is a separate existence from that of each member.
If you haven't done it yet, ABBA''S "I Have A Dream" is a good one, too.
My favourite song of theirs as I love Frida
Bit Eurovision for me
If you love ABBA so much then you have to watch “Mama Mia” 🌟☺️
They did that one already
@@sds6303 Ahhhhh….my bad. Thanks for letting me know ☺️
Then watch the second one.
@@sds6303 Ahhhhh…..I must have missed it. Thanks for letting me know 👍🏼😀
@@sds6303 The commenter said "watch", so clearly meant the movie "Mamma Mia!". Jay and Amber have reacted to the song, but not the movie of the same name.
Slipping though my fingers is one of their most beautiful lyrical songs. I never 'got it' till I had kids but... oh boy ❤❤😢❤
Always here for ABBA!
If you're looking for another beautiful ABBA song is My Love My Life. The lyrics are amazing. P.S I truly love listening to you both. Your definitely one of my favorite couples on the internet
This song is about the based on the break up of Frida and Benny. The Winner Takes it all is more about Bjorn and Agnetha.
Stop it! Abba has already stated many times there is no connection with their songs and their relationships. So tired of people making stuff up.
@@shyman99 you’re wrong
@shyman99
Sorry. Bjorn finally admitted a couple years ago that THE WINNER TAKES IT ALL was about Agnetha and Bjorn. We all knew it, they denied it, but finally came clean. It is in fact about their divorce. It is also Agnetha's favorite ABBA song.
@@brucethrasher8551 - Show me where he "admitted it". I'll wait.....
@@shyman99 Well, Bjorn always said it was not a literal depiction of their own situation because there was not one winner in their divorce. But at least it was inspired or colored by it.
A few years back he said in a documentary about The Winner Takes It All: 'That was kind of cleansing. I had written the words, she sang them and it was somehow the right thing to do. And to then release it and, you know, let the world know.'
Frida in another interview: 'Our personal life changed over those years. As I remember, Bjorn took advantage of what happened in our lives to write his more elaborate lyrics.'
One of us.....the mandolin in that song
the day before you came - is also one to listen too
The Magnificent ABBA!
The time when Abba musically grew up. The Visitors is my favorite Abba album even that it wasn't their most succesful. BTW "The visitors" is a great song too.
This song is a real good example of how ABBA's music matured in the early 80's.. almost all thier songs are telling a story , in the early 70's , it was more exuberant, then it really hit the power energy of the late 70's , then changed again to more of a serious undertone with a wonderful insturmental background and more depth in the story line..
They were two married couples first , all four were accomplished artists that played music together and the group ABBA formed on it's own accord. In the midst of studio recording and touring , they also had young childeren that they were raising at the same time ... A wonderful excptional group , that had a song for almost every emotion, and a wonderful diversity , no two songs are alike.. very cool... I have absolutely loved this ABBA journey , and will continue to do so with Voyage!.. Love ABBA!!...☺️....
DANCING QUEEN IS A MUST FOR YOUR NEXT ABBA SONG PLEASE!!!
LOVE this Song and LOVE ABBA ♥♥♥♥
"One Man, One Woman"
ABBA peaked at #27 on the U.S. Billboard Chart with this one on March 20, 1982. The top 10 at the time:
1) I Love Rock 'N Roll - Joan Jett and The Blackhearts
2) Open Arms - Journey
3) Centerfold - The J Geils Band
4) That Girl - Stevie Wonder
5) Sweet Dreams - Air Supply
6) We Got The Beat - Go-Go's
7) Make A Move On Me - Olivia Newton-John
8) Mirror, Mirror - Diana Ross
9) Shake It Up - The Cars
10) Pac-Man Fever - Buckner & Garcia
ABBA harmonies are fire. Being a GenX dude, none of us would admit it publicly, but alone driving we all knew and loved their stuff. I saw some VH1 behind the music back in the day and even the best metal bands all tried to create ABBA quality harmonies. Thanks for the review.
You guys should come to London, England, so you can come see the ABBA Voyage concert here. It is SPECTACULAR, 90 minutes of watching ABBA in their prime on stage with groundbreaking technology and supported by a real live backing band.
Anna-Frid is the Princess of Reuss as her third husband was a prince. He passed but she still carries that honorary title.
I think you would like Slipping Through My Fingers, its a very relatable song about Björn and Agnethas daughter growing up
You can't go wrong with ABBA. Their songs will live through history! On a side note, I don't believe I have ever heard Rob Squad react to Carly Simon & James Taylor for their duet song of "Mockingbird". This is a great song between two great artists where the music is a bit of rock ability and some jazzy blues. You should give them a try. Fingers Crossed!
You guys should do ABBA's "Slipping Through My Fingers".
This was amazing in Mamma Mia with the story.
This more than likely make Jay and Amber cry 😢
@@jassonsbabiful I know I did. I've got three teenage daughters and listening to that song chokes me up.
Amber, you need 2 playlists, one just for ABBA and one for everything else. I think ABBA has to be one of the most prolific groups of all time. Their catalog is extensive.
You both love ABBA's music so its only natural that you watch the 2 movies that incorporate all of ABBA's music; "Mama Mia" and the sequel "Mama Mia, Here We Go Again" ( featuring Cher singing Fernando). Must watch these in order to make sense of the story. They are fun movies, lots of great music, and beautiful scenery from the coast of Greece. Please do yourselves and your ABBA listening fans a treat and watch these 2 movies. You will not be disappointed.
You should do "Slipping Through My Fingers" by them for mothers day. Theres a good live version from Dick Cavett meets ABBA. It's a song about Bjorn and Agnetha's daughter growing up and them missing it.
Great track from “the visitors” album.
I'm so happy Amber loves ABBA and keeps picking them, because I love hearing them! Thank you for the reaction!! I hope they keep on coming! :)
ABBA.....im a huge ABBA geek!! Never go wrong with their music❤️❤️
It’s amazing that when they were recording and touring, it wasn’t popular to be a fan of this group, but today it’s the opposite. They were an outstanding band and their music was and always will be fantastic.
Been a ABBA fan since day one, and they are awesome. Their music touches you personally at some point. You need to react to Does your mother know/Hole in your Sole live .
What there biggest hit Dancing Queen, you never played it. Most people listen as one of their first to listen too
Agreed! Keep hoping they will play it.
I’ve mentioned it before in their ABBA reactions
Yes. That is the biggest hit. My favorite. But I can wait a few more weeks for that if they will do ONE, a FIRST reaction to Toni Braxton.
Maybe they've already heard it before they started doing reactions.
Gotta do Dancing Queen. You haven't heard ABBA until you've heard Dancing Queen 👑
Without knowing the details about the song's origin I always heard this song as ABBA's farewell song to their fans. It takes a certain amount of maturity and strength to sing a farewell song about a relationship while your in a group. Both Fleetwood Mac and ABBA turned their sorrow into music. For that fans are thankful. Thanks for all the love and all the fun ABBA.
I always thought it was about turning 40 and feeling chill about yourself, and of course, never too old for... 😜
Dancing Queen and Lay all your love on me are some of their greatest hits to.
One of my favourite ABBA songs! Frida just nails it here! And by the way - this is said to be about the break up between Frida and Benny!
I love it even more now after I saw the ABBA VOYAGE concert in London a month ago where it was played! So powerful!
Frida’s mezzo soprano voice is smooth and velvety like rich dark chocolate, and I love it! Beautiful. ❤
She's my favourite
@@deborahcox921 Mine, too.
@@Lisa-M If Jay and Amber want to do another Frida solo song, they should do "To Turn the Stone". Originally from Donna Summer's "I'm A Rainbow", when the Lp was shelved, Frida did the song for her "Something's Going On" album, and killed it. Later it was done by Joe "Bean" Esposito (the guy who sang on Donna Summer's "Heaven Knows") for the B-side of the single release of the Flashdance song "Lady Lady Lady".
@@deborahcox921 Mine too!!!
@@MetFan37 To Turn The Stone is one of my favourites of the Something's Going On album. Together with Threnody and You Know What I Mean.
Reaction Suggestions:
"I Wonder"
"Move On"
"The Eagle"
"The Piper"
"Another Town, Another Train"
Still haven't done "Dancing Queen." 😄
ABBA - "Rock Me".
You should check out the "the Visitors, " very different for ABBA.
this is my favourite ABBA song.. andto me it has always been a song of strength and empowerment... this life has ended.. but you get up and shake yourself iff and start oer..it is my motivation song
For sure one of my personal top 5 ABBA songs!
Dancing Queen!!!! 💃
iconic band with one of their greatest hits
I'm so glad you guys are revisiting ABBA! I haven'tlistened to this song in ages; I forgot how great it is. Have you watched "ABBA: the Movie" yet? Maybe you can do a movie reaction video to that in the future!
Last hit for ABBA in US bilboard chart ! Peak at Number 27 !!! 💯 💯 💯 💯 💯 💯
Come pay tribute to Abba, the greatest ever pop group ever to grace us with their incredible musical talent. Their songs will be played long after a lot of others have been forgotten. One of their greatest songs is 'Move on', a song for 'living for the moment'...it's both poetic and the lyrics profound. Peace and love to everyone from the UK.
Very powerful ❤❤❤❤❤
Powerful song. Always a treat when you react to Abba. Still looking out for When I kissed the teacher.
Thank you so much....recommend you one of the most beautiful ballads of them "One man, One woman"
It really was lovely listening to Frida, & ofcourse Agnetha. And as always they are wonderful together. Loved the song, it was my era. Say no more!!!!!!!🥰🥰🥰🥰
i believe this terrific song is from the brilliant, under rated, 'the visitors' album
Frida slays. Always love your ABBA reactions. Best band ever.
When I kissed the teacher!
OMG - I love this !!! Can't wait till you do "Summer Night City" 💓💓
Hi Guys greetings from England 🇬🇧 you really should check out The Abba song " The Day Before You Came" this is an absolute hidden gem of a song and was one of there final recordings prior to there break up 💔. This is such a different Abba song and sung so well by Agnetha and a really good video to accompany this song
My favorite ABBA song is the visitors, you should definitely check it out! Great reactions from you guys
Go to London and watch the ABBA Voyage, it's amazing!
Always love to see you listen to Abba! This was their last US hit before they broke up, so it was extra heartbreaking. I'd really love to hear you listen to "I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do"!!
This is a goosebumps song. The instrumentation carries us into the dynamics off the relationship. Agnetha's high harmonies over Frida's power ballad are electrifying.
I never feel it's about them directly. It describes a couple's relationship.
DANCING QUEEN 👑, DANCING QUEEN 👑, DANCING QUEEN 👑
Just imagine Björn handing over those lyrics to Anni-Frid at the studio for her to sing. ❤
Dancing queen. Summer night city. Thank you for the music.
Probably my all time favourite ABBA song, this song is as close to perfection as it gets!
I saw Al i Said and Done and thought, AI? OMG!
The day before you came, eagle, the visitors, I have a dream, voulez vous and
still so many more... their catalogue is endless. You'll enjoy discovering more .
I can't believe you haven't reacted to Dancing Queen yet! How dare you? 😂😂
The last ABBA songs from the album, 'The Visitors', were quite deep and with an ambience of sadness. The title track is outstanding, it's gloomy, experimental and futuristic, very far removed from the more well-known songs, but a masterpiece. I bet you must have reacted to some more Frida led songs: Fernando, Money Money Money, Super Trouper, Knowing Me Knowing You are some of their greatest hits and all Frida led.
The Visitors is a darker more serious song as well, that you might want to check out. It’s pretty cool.
Dancing Queen and Voulez-Vous. If you want upbeat fun. Don't even look at any others until you do these 2. Lol. I know what ones you like and these will both deliver.
This song was one of the final singles from ABBA, and at this time in their careers, the band had reached a more mature sound, check out "Slipping through my fingers", " Should I Laugh Or Cry"
"Why Did It Have To Me" is another banger by ABBA...as are nearly all of their songs :D
This was actually about the breakfast up of Frida and Benny. The winner takes it all was related to Agnetha and Bjorn.
Sorry about the bad spelling. Glad you know that breakfast up was meant to be break up. 😀
Abbas Angel Eyes, teacher teacher, Slipping through my fingers 😢❤
Simply said, you two and your channel make me smile. Thank you!
ABBA always makes me happy, even when the song is sad. You guys are the best on YT.
A very poignant and beautiful song! In a similar vein, check out "The Winner Takes It All." Other great ABBA songs include "Me and I," "When I Kissed the Teacher," "Eagle, " "Rock Me," "Summer Night City," "Angeleyes," "Andante, Andante," " Kisses of Fire," "Dance (While the Music Still Goes on," " Head over Heels," "The Piper," "Our Last Summer," and "Slipping Through My Fingers." There's a lot of great ABBA songs left to listen to.
I am not that familiar with the Mamas and Papas drama but perhaps the most amazing thing about Fleetwood Mac is that even after all the drama and the release of the Rumours album, the band continued to perform together, albeit not continuously, singing those songs, for about 40 years.
Jay, I think it's only fair that you get to bring on another song or two from the Bee Gees.
I'm always here for your ABBA reactions! Bjorn is pronounced Bee-yorn. You might have fun listening to "When I Kissed the Teacher."
I know you've done a lot of ABBA (which is great!), but there are at least two more of their hits that I hope you give a listen: Lay All Your Love on Me and Voulez-Vous. They are absolute 🔥
Throwing It All Away by Genesis is probably my favorite with this theme. Knowing You, Knowing Me, by Abba is another really good one that tops this song. A few more: One Less Bell to Answer - 5th Dimension, It's Too Late - Carole King, Landslide - Fleetwood Mac, Easy On Me - Adele, I Have Nothing - Whitney Houston, Crying - Roy Orbison, Is It Love - Mister Mister.
Glad you finally got to a song from ABBA's "The Visitors" album, their last album before their 40-year hiatus. Although initially not ABBA's best selling album, it is today regarded by many hardcore ABBA fans as perhaps their best, due to the more mature and thoughtful lyrics of the songs. Other highlights from the album include "I let the Music Speak" (Frida's best vocal performance on any ABBA song), "Slipping through My Fingers" and especially the title track "The Visitors". I won't spoil it for you by stating what the song is about, but its lyrics mean EXACTLY what they are saying, and are not a metaphor for something else.
