- Amber’s lack of intellect causes her to make a fool out of herself in front of Rick’s college friends. Amber begins to wonder if she is really the right person for Rick. Stephanie is disturbed when she finds a picture of Ridge on Morgan’s mantle. Morgan starts to lose it when Norita is unable to keep Steffy quiet. Taylor can’t believe Morgan is back in their lives.

Ridge really isn't the kind of guy who knows how to handle a crisis. He's a "good time" guy. He's very inept and clumsy consoling his wife, and always seems to want to rush past the hard times.
Maybe Ridge should talk to Taylor's shrink so she can help him unlock some emotion
It's always rough when they give Ridge these heavy dramatic scenes, both because Ronn Moss can't play them and because the character wasn't built for it. It's a soap though and you're going to have to give your romantic male lead scenes like that to play sometimes but the show used to be more sparing with it and used to find ways to not rest the entire storyline on his shoulders.

RM was good in his scenes with JJ when Caroline was dying. Just depends on who is RM’s Acting partner. His scenes with KKL up in the cabin after Caroline’s death were also well done by the actor. 😢
Stephanie, Ridge and Taylor are at three different stages of literary when it comes to reading Morgan. Stephanie of course is the most perceptive and has always been able to read Morgan like an open book. She knows Morgan is up to something, she knows it has to do with Ridge and she's suspicious about what's going on at the house. On the other end of the spectrum is clueless Ridge who thinks, "Morgan's just here for business. It has nothing to do with us." Amazing that even after everything that's happened he's still underestimating her! And in between is Taylor who used to be clueless like Ridge but is starting to get her wits back and can decode some of Morgan's thinking even if she can't see the whole plot. Her eyes have been opened by Morgan't deceit and betrayal and she's figured out that Morgan's return has something to do with Steffy's death and wanting revenge for the loss of her own baby: "She blames me for her baby's death so now I've lost mine and that's why she came back, to rub my face in it."

I still would have expected Stephanie to stay in the house and figure out what was going on. Her instincts were right - she wanted to go upstairs - so _why didn't she?_ It's as if the plot is so incoherent that is has to be written like this to keep Morgan's nonsensical plan to fall apart like that house of the first little pig in the fairy tale.
Same thing with Norita's actions. She clearly sees something is strange - why didn't she just bring the child downstairs with Stephanie there?

Sigh. Why, even when the show has a good idea, must they execute in the most ham-fisted way possible?! The concept of Rick and Amber having conflict because of their different backgrounds is a totally legit one. But instead of introducing it in an organic way, one day we have Deacon hammering Amber over the head with it, the next Brooke is trying to convince Rick of the same thing, and today we have this ridiculous scene where Amber acts like a snarling, stray dog who has never interacted with human beings before. Not to mention the utterly ludicrous friends of Rick. Rich college kids do not sit around talking about market caps and private vs public stock ownership. They get drunk and party like all the other college kids. The only difference is they don't need side jobs and they might go to fancier spring breaks.
Hearing the reference to "INS" instead of "DHS" was jarring for me, and made me realize that this show was airing just a (relatively) few months before 9/11. Simpler, more innocent times . . .
Little Steffi will never be Little Eric, but my God I am enjoying her trolling of Morgan at every turn. "Mommy," indeed 😄.

I agree that they did the class story between Rick and Amber in a very contrived way. At this point, Amber clearly isn't working and doesn't seem like she needs to, so it isn't like she's impoverished. She's pretty much been living at Steph's Beverly hills mansion address, so she has the same zip code (or maybe a better one) as Rick's friends. Having the class issue stem solely from her not understanding investment speak, is a very lame way to tell that story. Most ppl don't understand it is one thing. And for the other, she must know that he goes to college and would be studying things she wouldn't understand. If he was in med school, would she feel lower class bc she can't identify a femur from a tibia, and the rest of his classmates can?
I feel like we've been thru this, Amber + baby = baggage storyline already. No need to rehash.

Exactly! I went to college for 11 years so I'd say I'm fairly well-educated, but I don't know anything about investments. It would not make me feel inferior hearing someone discuss it, any more than I would feel inferior hearing someone discuss sports or anything else that doesn't happen to be of particular interest to me. And like @Trish said, if someone is in college, there are things only someone with the same major would understand. It's just such a contrived way to remind us that Amber is from a different background than Rick. And it was really out of character for Amber to try to join the conversation even though she clearly had no idea what they were talking about. Why didn't she just walk in and start talking about Little Eric (which is a far more interesting subject anyway)?
As for Morgan trying to convince Steffy that she is her new mommy, that's just the next item on the long Iist of "things Morgan didn't think through before carrying out this plan".

After watching this specific episode, I now like Deacon for Amber. Amber could be herself around Deacon with no judgment or embarrassing moments she was subject to with Rick. Deacon understood and loved Amber in a way Rick never could. ❤

@@babs4848 Right. They've intentionally used less makeup on Taylor (to make her look like a grieving mother) and even then she only has wrinkles when she cries. With Brooke you can see wrinkles and crow's feet when they closeup on her even when she's not crying (the makeup team doesn't do a good job with her for some reason).

And here we see the wrinkles of HT so obviously, but for HER wrinkles, there is always explanation and good excuse! When it comes to Brooke.. well, we know how double standard this whole thing is with them! 🤷🏼♂️
