Fans worldwide fell head over heels for Ben Platt during his Tony® Award-winning turn in the title role of Dear Evan Hansen and on-screen in films such as the Pitch Perfect franchise. As a result, the music delivers confessional lyricism by way of soulful intimacy as part of one cohesive narrative on his 2019 full-length debut, Sing To Me Instead. It's amazing how Platt's perfomance made us cry for a character that we barely knew. Also Payton is supposed to be a character that doesn't care for his emotions but in that scene you could see him breaking down. Platt was amazing

Season 3 will be the last and the creator said that he intend to wait several years before filming it, because he want Ben Platt to grow up so he would look old enough to run for president.

I fell in love with River during Episode 1 and this song cemented my love for him. It's so rare to connect and feel for a character so quickly but I did. Ben sings this song with the same love that David Corenswet/River looks at Ben/Payton with, a love I hope one day I will feel. Also, it sounds so nice to hear little, new bits that aren't from the series version.

Me too. I fell in love with River in the first episode and I was so devastated when he died, he was my favourite character. The rest of the series has cemented that position. And Ben´s performance was amazing. I´m so sad they killed him, he could have been such a great second main character

Absolutely! She is far and away one of our best songwriters of all time. The poetry of her lyrics combined with her voice and presence have inspired generations of musicians and still do. Check out the performance of her & Brandi Carlyle (and others) at a recent festival - or any of so many others from her over the years so luckily easy to find on UA-cam or elsewhere. I totally love Ben Pratt! He does a fantastic job, too. 😉🙏

This had a beautiful melody to it... “I could skate away on” is the most satisfying part for some reason? It feels like a punch to the gut, a melancholy feeling comes at that part. This was a crazy good show!! All the characters were likable. Rare.
No one writes a melody better than Joni Mitchell! (who released the original version of this song in 1971)
It’s kinda weird how I honestly felt less emotional when I’ve first heard of this song on the first episode of ”the Politician” and now after hearing this again the moment I finished watching all of the episodes on that series, I finally understood everything. It has brought a lot of emotions to me, there’s sorrow, longing, and self-disappointment. Now, I felt this song more than I do before and damn, it hurts a lot!
If you like this one then you might really love Joni Mitchell who wrote, sang and composed this song on her album Blue. Considered one of the greatest albums of all time.
