@BJB wow, l've never heard that before. The quality of the humor in SNL is cyclical. I've been watching off and on since the 80's. People tend to get fixated on the time period when they were regularly watching it, then stop when the familiar cast leaves, and never give it a chance again. There was a lull after the Belushi/Martin/Akroyd years until Eddie Murphy came along. SNL got lukewearm until the Farley/Myers/Sandler/Hartman crew hit their stride and when they all left, it limped along until Ferrell/Fey/Poehler/Meyers. There's a pretty good crew on there now if you give it half the chance.
@BJB I've watched SNL since show #1 in 1975. From the 2nd or 3rd year on, people have been talking about when SNL USED to be funny. They were certainly saying it when this skit aired. It's uneven, it's always been uneven, more bad skits than good. Makes the good ones seem that much better when they roll around. Also, with prosthetics that look virtually identical to a penis and female breasts - I'm betting it would not be put on the air today. It ain't right, but I would not be surprised.
