  • This video shows each of the 30 self-defense techniques in Blue Belt in the air and on an opponent. I have improved much since then.

You have quite an arsenal of techniques; very cool. You were prepared well to defend yourself. It’s just a matter of intent to use any of them for your self defense. I never cared for sparring and I do little of it with my students. I prefer, and so do they, to drill, drill, drill. I’m reminded of a quote, allegedly ascribed to the late Okinawa Master Sensei Choki Motobu, “Karate is not for the battlefield nor is it for the sports arena.” Yup, he understood. Great work Sensei Rathbone! Keep training!😀

I love Kenpo. I used to take classes when I was a kid. I want to go back to it soon. It's hard because I have to work so much but I miss it.

When an attacker does everything you expect them to do.
Must be nice to have a crystal ball.

@@LeAnnRathbone Ms Rathbone, was regular light sparring a part of your training regime or has it become it, since then? I know this is kata, thank you for your demonstration.

@kubikiribasara3499 we did sparring, but not point it was more about who could take control of the fight within 2 minutes. Plus, we taught students to freestyle with their techniques as well.
