3:08 well I know what's gonna happen next Glad to know that one Pidgey on Route 3 is exactly how I remember it 25 years ago. Also I had like 200-300hrs on Leaf Green and never saw a shiny, but I think a key reason is that we just don't encounter anywhere near as many wilds as the early game makes you think. I spent so long levelling up with the Vs. Seeker on Cycling Road + fighting the Elite Four that I was never going to see one. I did eventually get a shiny Geodude in Diamond though which is now a glorious golden Golem.
