Thank you guys so much for coming out and helping me. When i first got in the situation i thought i was about to roll. And for the noise one of my radiator fans was loose its nice and smooth running now!
Congrats on realizing you're in over your head and calling for recovery. I nearly soiled myself in sympathetic terror. Lots of people here mocking your engine :p
I've watched several other rescues Matt has done on this hill and every time my chair got a pucker in the center of it. This was no exception! 😱 I even had my wife watch and she just turned around and left shaking her head after just a couple minutes! No shame in calling for help Trey, especially with such a beautiful looking dog. You, your dog, and your Jeep got a chance to wheel another day with nothing but a tale of terror to tell!
It cracks me up because most of my driveway looks like that, and some sections you simply can't walk up or down without putting your hands down, and an 80 year old man that could be Ed's brother drives up and down it twice a month in a stock ford f250 bullnose pulling a tandem axle utility trailer with a water tank on it. It's nuts what we get used to!
@Apocaloptimisto Stretch of 18% on my 'driveway', comes right after a switchback and is on the edge of a good 200ft drop. When it snows, 35s and lockers are about the only thing that makes it up to the property. I store my car and bike at the base of the hill with my neighbors lol, only trucks and AWD cars bother coming up, I'll be running family up and down constantly when they visit.

You don't learn or grow if you don't push your limits, but you don't survive if you don't realize where they are. Jeep guy reached his limit and called it. He got no damage and a T-shirt, and he drove it home. I'd call it a win.

Old buddy needs a new starter. Mine was doing the same thing. When going up a hill the drive gear would slide back into the flexplate over and over until you got leveled back out.

What a view from up there! Colby!!! Exceptional drone shots. I'm sure some of them are suitable from framing. And love seeing the teacher in Matt. Thanks
Colby did an amazing job with the drone footage and shows just how dangerous this recovery is for MOORVAIR! The Moorvair is so awesome working on this steep incline! That Jeep sounded terrible like a rod was knocking in the engine! Good video and content! Good job Kaulin!
I can't believe I watched another on this road as it terrifies me each time. The drone footage was making me sick but I think that is because of what it was showing. For someone who doesn't do this. it just seems insane. Great job by all.
For everyone saying the customer could have driven the Jeep out of there the truth is that the Jeep was able to be driven. But that doesn't mean the guy should, could, or would have done it. Even for experienced off road drivers, there are situations that aren't safe or advisable without a spotter. It can make a huge difference at times if a tire is going to drop another 2 or 3 inches before hitting ground or another 5 or 6 inches. The customer, his rig, and his dog are all safe to wheel another day, and there is no guarantee any of that would be true if he just went for it.
EASILY my favorite recovery spot! Simply because you'd never find me there, I'm afraid of heights. I don't want to see anyone get hurt, but recoveries from here are fascinating to watch! I know you'll get them out!!!
The Guy was by himself and his dog. With other people and another Rig being there helps out. Being by himself in that situation just adds fear and terror. He did the right thing....🤠
What really sunk home this video is how much the camera flattens things. You had multiple shots of the same position where from one angle it looked like handycap ramp but from the better angle revealed it to be as steep as a flight of stairs. The steep one is the real one. True of all your jobs, it almost never looks on camera as steep as it actually is. Truly terrifying.
It's not said enough.... this channel is nothing without the awesome production team. Watching y'all grow is one of my favorite parts of youtube. Matt, increase their budget and prepare to be amazed.
I’ve been watching for a few years, that drone shot truly captured the insanity. Can we get a drone shot of that sand trap that you tested the morrvair, banana and the Porsche on? I feel like the perspective on that one would be impressive
I love when people get stuck on this insane mountain. LOL usually the camera don't do show how steep things are but you can tell this trail is gnarly! I often think about this hill to be honest. kinda weird I know lol

I was sitting in my chair, at my desk, with both feet on the ground, and that shot when Matt was near the edge still scared me! Around 9:40... I actually rolled backward, away from the screen, as if it would keep me safe. Wow!!!
I've seen that angle before....but I was on Jacob's Ladder via The Cog Railway at Mt Washington in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire. LOL I'm sure Pike's Peak has something similar, but that's in Colorado. Ok now that I've seen the whole video....DO NOT GO UP THAT ROAD! LOL
As a long-time viewer and a sometimes commenter, WHY??? That has to be the most dangerous road for anyone to drive on, let alone practice turning around. Kaulin, the kid who forgot how to say NO! Well done, young man.
Yup, nothing better than a drone to emphasize the danger, size and terrain you are driving in. Great stuff. When Matt leans in the one shot it reminded me of shooting photos of some of our MTN biking and also 4 wheeling. Hold the camera a level on the shot, then tilt it a little in the opposite direction of the hill your rig is on. It ensures that the true incline shows.
Matt I don't usually like to question your logic, but I can't say that I agree with you on the whole seat belt thing. Is that not the whole purpose of building a roll cage? To be contained within a bubble of safety?
The cage is so the sheet metal body doesn’t fold in on you but it only helps until a certain level of crash once you exceed that level your more likely to survive getting thrown out
@@bljdeep I mean we watched Kaitlin roll down a hill and be fine, but pop off. Also people get into massive collisions and walk away because of seat belts. And if that really was the case, why are there not five-point harnesses, at the very least on the driver seat
