I want to make this, worried about the weight of clothes and it toppling over. I'm guessing the wife base is what keeps it upright. Can you give measurements of base wood. Is it plywood? Thanks
@@cheryltalbert2079 The base is 5'x2'. I would highly recommend 4'x2'. If you have tight hallways, 5ft long is too long to maneuver. 2ft in width will provide plenty of stability. Also, consider the weight that will be placed on the shelves giving it a low center of gravity. At the moment this it sits in the corner of our living room as it will no longer fit in my daughter's room here in Pensacola. The rack holds our heavy winter jackets, the bottom shelf stores sofa blankets and pillows, and the top shelf holds our printer and normally a fat cat. Also, consider your doorway height. I believe the top shelf is roughly 2ft off the ground with casters and piping that holds the clothes is 4ft tall. Also, I used finished fiberboard from lowes to save time, but I would use finished plywood if I had to do it over again.
Well, it has been three years now. My concern is did it hold up since it only had the floor flange holding the rack. Did it give any problems? Did it remain steady with the weight of the clothing? BTW new subscriber here.
Hi. This is great! Any chance you could list in the description the quantities of materials used to me this including measurements? I'm looking to make 2 of them. Thanks. And then if possible the basic tools required. Will likely need to rent equipment because I don't have my gear from back home here. Will really appreciate. Thanks 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Your daughter is very lucky to have you as her dad! 😉😁👍
Success!
