As delusional as Dwayne Johnson may have appeared in this, his re-emergence to take over the main event quietly took the heat away Vince's scandal burning WWE's publicity too much.
What I really want is the documentary 20 years from now that's about how the Rock came this close to single-handedly sabotaging the WWE's post-Vince comeback.
A big glaring omission from the documentary was why the Rock chose that moment to intervene. Right before that is when the infamous Vince McMahon texts came out and people were mortified. Rocky kinda stepped up to distract the people and mainstream media from the latest Vince update. And he did. We Want Cody trended for days and people forgot the case. Great PR move, didnt exactly pan out how they planned but alls well that ends well.
Brian hit the mark at 17:00. The thing with guys like John Cena, Mick Foley, and others is that they come in and work with a guy they can give a rub to. The rock came in to try and get the rub.
Curious to know what would be if Reigns vs Rock actually happened.. where would Cody be now?? Would the bloodline have introduced all these new samoans?
Plans were for Rock supposedly pushing to beat Roman, in the Raw after Mania he would leave the title vacant and say he will always be The People's Champion, thus, presenting the People's Title he received....Cody would have won the WHC, Roman would have regained the WWE Title and at SummerSlam, a unification match with Cody finishing the story
What's funny is that if the Rock would've showed up for WM 39, Rock v Roman would've been the biggest match that WWE could've done. Unfortunately, the WWE fans have been waiting for Cody v Roman for 2 years. There is a whole generation of WWE fans who have never seen the Rock wrestle or cut a live promo. He's the guy from Fast and Furious. What got me was, why was the Rock cutting 30 minute promos on Cody? It all made Roman look like a second banana. Roman has been this ultimate champion. Then here comes the Rock stealing all his thunder. It was bullshit
I did not like that as well, but it seems like either way he was going to take someone's spot in the lead up, even took his whole gimmick, as Roman has been the Final boss, even has the whole music to match, for over 2 years. Cody and Roman are still on fire and look set for Cody-Roman III, where there should be no interference to finally "decide it", even though in both fights it has been painted as Cody being the better wrestler.

Rock wanted no part of the match then, it wasn't until Roman was the hottest thing (possible exception of Cody and Punk) that Rock wants the match. Reigns is smart enough to say "Hahaha fuck you Uce, what have you done for me lately."
and he definitely has the relevant experience to know how to create his own little yes movement after WM31 and 32.
He's clearly declined in health during these last years carrying the company. He deserved a good end for his character before taking a break and a permanently reduced workload.
The thought of the Rock fucking over Roman's character arc after all the work they put into it kind of boils my blood 😅
And the smile he had while Cody pinned him
@@Majere3 Man I hadn't seen that

Moral of the story. The HHH shovel is still more powerful than Hollywood Rock.
HHH got what he wanted, Cody in the main event.
"Tremble before the Hammer."
HHH, 2013
I'm glad Corny's come around. Early on, he supported the Rock and Roman as the match because the Rock's a big star, but Rock/Roman didn't have near the interest of Cody/Roman.
I was the same as Corny. I had no idea what Hollywood had done to The Rock and what a huge ass he's become. He's outpacing Hogan at this point.
Rock vs roman>
@john_blues you guys don't live in reality. The rock has two upcoming Disney movies coming up
@boocackeedquackhead8454 It actually just is. 😊 If it wasn’t, Rock’s plan would not have been rejected as vehemently as it was by the fans.
The worst thing is there was no build up! He would have ruined the Tribal Chief's legacy too after three years of meticulous long-term storytelling.
Brian pulls no punches when it comes to Dwayne
He snubbed him for an autograph or told his parents no for coming to his birthday party 😂😂
Same with Jericho.

Rightfully so and its also hilarious

CM Punk told Dwayne to his face what he thought about him 11 years ago. And just like everything else, PUNK was right.
"and then I told Lincoln to write the Emancipation Proclamation." - Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson
Imagine if they didn’t go with the fans and we ended up getting face Rock vs heel Roman, it would’ve been a disaster
Jim would've praised them because he hates "the marks"
i hate when they say this is going to make alot of money in that 1 night not caring about the future earnings.
The bullet they avoided by having Cody win the rumble.
"i hate when they say this is going to make alot of money in that 1 night not caring about the future earnings."
That kind of thinking is why we talk about WCW in the past tense.
Brian spitting facts
I know people are saying HHh and Cody worked behind rocks back to make sure Cody got the WM title match, but punk helped too. The promo battle he had with Cody, alleging that Cody would be upstaged by a bigger star, only for that to be attempted is crazy
CM Punk my Hero. wonder if it was also a part of their plan with Triple H. to remind people what happened in the past to Punk, so that they wouldnt want it to repeat again with Cody. but youre right, when The Rock tried to steal the Main Event, one of the most common comments was fans reminding back to the Punk promo. so in the end... Punk took his revenge on The Rock. Rocky took his Main Event so Punk helped usurp his now 🥳

All of these guys are full of themselves. That’s how they kept going through the adversity instead of giving up. Imagine how insufferable Cena would be, if he had 1/10th of the success The Rock had?
Rock hogan showing his true colors in the past years has been refreshing. For a while now I’ve called him fake and got attacked for it. Now everyone knows.
So basically Brian was right since day 1 is what Jim is saying.😂😂😂😂😂
No. Some of the stuff he said was right and most of it was just un called for.
@jadenkelly5969 nooo Brian was right The Rock is full of B.S as delusional as Jericho and a out to reach Hogan levels.😂😂😂😂😂
@@andisuge So the guy who is known as the one superstar who actually puts over other wrestlers( he put over hurricane for crying out loud) all of a sudden is Hogan like levels of ego?
No wonder wrestling fans are considered weird to the outside world.

As a member of a board of directors and an executive committee member on the same board, I can confirm that we, as a board, are not the day to day boss of any employee in any capacity.
Also, surprised the guys didn’t pick up on how limited the Rock’s fake CEO vernacular is. He defaults to “I said ‘what would it look like if _____?” and thinks it makes him sound smart.
The Rock's "Head of the table" line happened at Day One. So it was about a month before the Rumble.
FINALLY! Been waiting two whole weeks for this
Rivalry of the year is drew McIntyre vs cm punk and Brian last vs The Rock!
False, Drew and Punk know who each other are... Making it an actual rivalry.
And then I said to Corny, “why don’t you turn OVW into a developmental territory for the WWF.”
"And so I told Santino, why don't you go up and have some words with Jim?"
Then I told stone cold, how does Austin 316 sound?
The Hogan presenting himself comments didn’t age well. That escalated quickly.
Lmao. I was looking for this comment right after I heard him say that
OH HOW IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!
As delusional as Dwayne Johnson may have appeared in this, his re-emergence to take over the main event quietly took the heat away Vince's scandal burning WWE's publicity too much.
Yep sure did they played that card smartly but I ain’t forget not by a long shot.
The Rock: And then I said Jim and Brian will love this documentary
Peacemaker is a huge hit! 2nd season will be even bigger! Brian’s right.
"And then I told Jim & Brian, you should both do a podcast."
Imagine in 2003-4 people would be on H's side AGAINST the Rock in running WWE.
Gotta wonder if Cena will also get put on the board?
How did Jim forget "People's Strudel" when talking about The Rock's dingling? 🤨🤨¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I can tell Brian is having a "I told you so, jim" smile on his face😂😂😂😂
"And then i told Austin he misunderstood, I meant Stone Cold like a killer, not Frosty McChiller.".
- The Rock
The rock came in to try and get the rub.
and everyone was saying Brian was overreacting about the Rock.... turned out he was right
"And then I told Hulk, 'get yourself to the Republican National Convention.'"
Brian "I told you so" Last, ladies and gentlemen
And ppl say that Brian was hating on the rock too much.
At least Jim sees Brian’s PoV now
That line about "Even if it's just a segment of fans" pissed me off so much. He treats the WWE fans like AEW fans where it's some isolated fan base.
Love that Cornette is aware of the memes
Curious to know what would be if Reigns vs Rock actually happened.. where would Cody be now?? Would the bloodline have introduced all these new samoans?
Plans were for Rock supposedly pushing to beat Roman, in the Raw after Mania he would leave the title vacant and say he will always be The People's Champion, thus, presenting the People's Title he received....Cody would have won the WHC, Roman would have regained the WWE Title and at SummerSlam, a unification match with Cody finishing the story
I appreciate the fact that Brian snuck in a Norm McDonald joke into this review. Very subtle but effective!
Because it’s Brian, I think it could possibly be referencing the Iggy Pop song ‘I’m Bored’?
It felt like when William Shatner was in the Star Trek: The Next Generation film.
does nobody remember when rock took some WB executives out to a bar and drank a lot of tequilla and sank the DC movie universe. yes i know it was already shit but he ended that in one night
