Makes one wonder about nicknames in Australia. Motorcycle enthusiasts are "Bikees" , so by the same measure I guess the truck enthusiasts would be nicked as "Truckies".
I am not Shure Herod's had 2 of them one was boogie drive with a lazy axle it ran a 12v71 will a 13speed overdrive and a four speed auxiliary box and dual range diffs the full cab was the 8v92 tri drive both built by the owner and are both still running today
Both were built as species as far as I know with tri drives, International in Melb wouldn't fit the tri on the 2nd truck, hence Noel took it to Sydney after completion to have it fitted there, again, that's as far I know👍
I know this truck well it's the 12v71 in it the sister truck is the 8v92 they were the toughest trucks in Australia pulling road trains I know that truck is a 1974 model it was still working pulling 3 X 45ft double decker wooden stock creates and a double decker 32 foot on the tray sometimes with 20 tonnes of bull dust on each trailer and the 100 plus tonnes of cattle
Noel Heriot-Watt ordered that first Twin steer tri-drive with an 8V92TA 435 and the 2nd with a later version of the 8V92TA 475, I'm not sure about it having a 12V71🤔
Yes, in the older style Mk 1 cab twin steers, they were an option, several fuel companies in the Territory utilised them as rigid towing 2 trailers, they had to use the twin steer configurations because of 4.5ton steer limits👍
That truck would pull 3x double decker wooden stock creates as well as the 32 ft tray with double decker it's the 12v71 awesome truck had a custom radiator 8 cores with 2 thermostat fans and a custom made 8 blade flex fan to keep it cool on the road
lol that's an old Atkinson when Australia was making their on trucks not anymore even Iveco who bought out international harvester trucks don't have a Atkinson only the acco
Probably a little more around 100 metric this truck originally had a double decker stock creat and pulled 3 more behind it wooden stock creates very heavy and out back sometimes 20 tonnes of dust on each trailer

Nothing wrong with the 18. Liter Caterpillar Diesel engine but the 12.1 Liter Detroit Diesel 8V92TA is my favorite engine

I did read of an Atkinson with a 12V71 in it as it got cooked because they didn't fit the correct size radiator.@@damienodonohue1327

@@NoelzsazsaYes the MK 4 was the last of the fibreglass cab models.
