Hello CitizenCycle I have a Freesky Himalaya model and the original motor cable got damaged and the motor stopped working. I switched out the Bafang 750W motor with another in the wheel hub casing and sthe ame issue happened! I thought it was the actual wheel so I ordered a complete wheel kit with the motor already attached to the hub. After riding for several miles the wheel came off again and the cable was slightly damaged after it wrapped around the spindle! At first it was not working, but then I straightened out the cable, used electrical tape to secure it, and now it is working! I noticed that my dropouts were a little stripped and would not support the load anymore even with the torque washers. I am going to use the torque arms and hopefully that will resolve the issue once and for all. I didn't realize how potentially life threatening this could have been and I have been talking to the personal over at Freesky but they have not been of much help, and the bike is still under warranty! Lack of proper diagnosis can turn into a very expensive lesson!
I think the Aventons use a Bafang system, you could probably use 30amp Bafang control, they're about a hundred bucks, you may have to change the display too, or you may be able to get away with just changing your display, I know that works with the Himiways.
Overall the bike is so so, but that motor is something, it looks quite a bit more powerful than any Bafang I've ever seen with the same wattage. Most of the 1,000w 30amp Bafang systems ive seem ether top at 30,31 mph and climb really well, or top 35,36 but struggle with the hills.
If anyone wants to increase max throttle speed without having to wait for new controller shipping times just change tire diameter to the smallest size in controller hidden menu to trick the controller into thinking it's actually going slower then it really is. Your welcome. Your speedo will be inaccurate but just buy a phone holder and use your phones gps
@@MrTrepTower I believe the controllers should be sealed units. They get hot and I think need more cooling. I know on my ebikes, they are mounted under the seat. I can feel the heat on full throttle runs.
I’m pretty sure they want the serial number to protect themselves from any potential litigation resulting from having this controller installed.
Why did they not sell the bike with this controller in the 1st place???
Money..Money $$$$$
@@michaellevine6019 Under 20mph with throttle should be a class ll bike. Some trails/paths are limited by class.
Legality. Some think the legal limit is 20 for throttle.

Would this work for aventon Aventure ?

I would read the fine print. Other manufactures voids the warranty if altered. I know of one company that does this if you enter THEIR unlocking code.
Question is will it work on other bikes Aventon aventure 2? Or do these controls need a particular display and motor?
I got an Aventure too and want to know also
A2 is a 750w motor vs the 1000w Freesky so probably not going to be worth it. Getting a front motor is about all else you can do to the A2.
I just got a SwiftHorse Pro - Do you have a list of codes? for example P2o to change the lock - what are the others and what the optional numbers do?
thank you
any companies make or could make a better controller & make it run faster & cooler???

The other channel put it on a dyno & it put out a lil over 1700 watts, checked it twice

Shunt mod the controller Bryan🍻
Does anyone know if the controllers on Freesky bikes use the UART-2 Protocol?
Free sky vs wired vs 5 cells!
150$ for a 75% increase in speed… heck yeah
good job !!
Will that controler work with the Himiway cobra?
No
shockingly lacking water proofing features... sure does make for easy installation though!

Option should have been in the software in the first place! Greedy company
You just turned the Freesky into an Ariel Rider Kepler except the Kepler is on sale for $1,500. or $300. Less😂
That’s a single motor bike…
😂😂😂 150$ for a 30A controller is 100$ too much. You can get a sinewave controller for 30$
35 or 45 mph... just buy a Ninja Z4rr its much more stable on those speed😂
Hey, is there a way to do this with the Lextric Xpress 750?
