- The Indigo CS (compact-sedan) was launched in 2008, as a crossover between a hatchback and a sedan, while technically being referred to as the latter. It was originally designed to appeal to buyers who sought an inexpensive "3-box" car at the price of a hatchback. At launch, the Indigo CS was the shortest sedan in the world, with a length of 3,998 mm. The car's length allowed Tata Motors to avail excise-duty incentives targeted at cars with under 4 meters of length. Viewed from the side, the small 260-litre trunk on the Indigo CS looked stubby. The Indigo CS retained most of the feature-set of the 2007 Indigo. The car was launched with the 1.4L TDI turbocharged diesel engine, and the 1.2L 8-valve, 4-cylinder petrol engine carried over from the Indica Xeta. Both these engines complied with Bharat Stage-III emission norms.
In 2010, Tata Motors introduced the first design update to the Indigo CS, in the form of the company's new 1.4L CR4 turbocharged common-rail diesel engine, rechristening the car as Indigo eCS. The 1.4L CR4 engine complies with the Bharat Stage-IV norms. Variants of the car, with the Bharat Stage-III compliant TDI engine continued to be sold till 2012. The 1.2L SOHC petrol engine was carried over, with an upgraded Bharat Stage-IV compliant catalytic converter.

Mai naya naya colg jane laga tha to car li gyi thi ki drivimg seekhi ja ske. Humne kuch 8 sal purani indigo kharidi thi lekin ussi vehicle pr driving seekhi maine. Aur aisa deewana hua mai roads ka ki ab lagta hai vo ashiqui hamesha rahegi. Company kuch naya kar rahi hai iss bat ki khushi hai. Ek indian brand sabhi bahar ke brands ko pichhe chhode to isse behtar kuch nahi. Lekin itni special car kuch tym bad dikhni band ho jaegi iska thoda dukh bhi hai.

I am a proud owner of one Tata Indigo Marina GLX 2006 model.
My suggestion is, since there multiple nber of old car owners, kindly ensure that spare-parts of all Tata Car Like Indigo, Indica etc etc are made available promptly everywhere.
We are, to put in a simple language, Proud of Tata Cars and Tata heritage of Cars.

Very true about Tata's service centre. I have given my Tata Indigo CS for servicing and the digital Odometer is not available with the dealer. I have emailed Tata motors customer care and received a reply.
It clearly shows that Tata is improving on customer service.
Where to get the price list for Tata Indigo spares? Mere car ka digital Odometer kharab hua hai aur dealer is quoting a price of 10k. Is that worth?

I am Tata Tiago owner really very good car thanks to Tata group made in India
Owned a TATA Manza once. The experience of owning this car wasn't very good. I will not hold TATA responsible for this however. eCS was definitely a choice when i was looking for an upgrade from my old Alto, however the TAXI CAB image kept me from buying one, as a matter of fact, I could not have got an i10 Grand or a WagonR (with CNG) for that price.
All said and done, the all fresh line-up of TATA's impact philosophy is welcome. Yes they need to work on service support and overall ownership experience and of course, switch to ELECTRIC ASAP.

From 2012 we bought indigo ecs and it's thr with us. All our neighbours r havin city, ciaz, verna, duster. But we planned to buy this as it is easy to maintain and effectively priced. Customer service is only issue.
