Hey Peter! Did not expect to see April Wine after all that thrash/death metal. I have grown to like 'Club Ninja', but it took some time. My fav album from 85 is 'This is the Sea' by The Waterboys, which is not metal at all. Cheers!

Hi, Steve! Yeah, the selection was top heavy for sure. I actually forgot to show Gowan’s Strange Animal CD, but I only like one song and it’s in a box of CDs to sell. Maybe I’ll ask Catherine S if she wants it. I can send it to her from Canada when I visit in November.
I’ve heard a few people talk about The Waterboys. I’ll have a listen! Thanks!.

I loved your intro and build up leading into what you actually have currently from 1985, Peter! Needless to say, my 1985 music soundtrack was very different. But, your reviews and backstories about these artists never fail to inform and entertain. 😎🎶

@@onmyturntable7036 Thank you, Ed. I didn’t want to make a video about albums I don’t have. But for 1985 it somehow felt reasonable.
I can imagine our 85’s are quite different. Embryonic Brian’s, too!

Hi Peter!!! I really think you have a lot of cool and great 85' releases in your collection..... as yourself, i was also discovering new bands, sounds like early thrash, hardrock, speed just to name a few. You mentioned the big names your collection is missing, but two i can highly recommend are Crossfire and Stormwitch, the first was a speedy band from Belgium wuth two cool studio albums and the other is a great early powermetal german band. cheers and be well

@@cristianosorio2517 Hey, Cristian, thank you for the recommendations! I have heard of Stormwitch but I don’t know their music. I don’t know of Crossfire. I will try to listen to them both. I also should take a look back at some of your older videos.

Hi Peter, I know April Wine, Lee Aaron, BoC, and Helix! I have heard of Y&T. My 1985 was very very new wave! Oh, and I think I have heard of Rush 🤣🤣

Maybe you don't have as much 1985 stuff in your collection, but what you have is top quality :)

Hi Peter, I was gonna say happy 2025, but.....anyway I hope you are well. 1985 was an awesome year for me. So many happy memories. As usual I don't know many albums on your list. The only one I have is Power Windows.....one of my favourite Rush albums. Top 3 on my Rush list....controversial I know! By the way have you read Geddy's My Effin' Life yet? I'm waiting for it to come out on paperback as the hardback is very expensive. Also, did you get a copy of Time To Turn yet? Now, where did I park my time machine........

@NadirJones71 Hi, Nathan! Happy New Year and welcome back! Some people really like Power Windows. That’s cool. I’m not one of them. But what can you do, eh?
I have My Effin Life and I started reading it whenever it was that I got it. But these days if I’m not working then it’s hard to take time to read, and when I do, I get sleepy soon. I keep thinking I should read on the train but I have to be standing then or I’ll doze off.
Time to Turn is for some reason almost as difficult to get as the debut. I did get Colours and Metromania, however.

a really interesting selection. I can' remember much about 1985. I was getting serious about my cycling I think and music kind of took a back seat record buying and concert wise. I think I can remember buying some Bernie Torme solo and Electric Gypsies stuff around then, but I'd have to have a look through my collection and really wrack my brain cells (those left!!) to try and remember what I bought! Knowing me I was probably still rooted in the 70s!!

I went through the latter half of the nineties buying loads of Magic: the Gathering cards. I probably spent thousands of dollars from 1995 all the way up to 2005. I spent a lot on photography too: traveling, film, printing for exhibitions, self-publishing books. Subsequently, I did not buy a lot of CDs between those years, except for once I came to Japan, I bought a little more as I hoped to find Japanese artists I would like. Now I have almost nothing to distract me from buying music. Is that good or bad?

Hey Peter. Agree with you on that Night Ranger album, I actually just picked it up, super cheap price. Exodus! I dig Manilla Road but always find the album production tinny and hollow sounding. I like Club Ninja quite a bit. Cheers

@@7BobbyGaylor7 That’s a good point about Manilla Road. I’m really interested in their music but something is keeping me from getting me hooked for a deep dive. That’s probably it! Glad you like Seven Wishes and Club Ninja, too!
