      That's a dangerous perspective. Here in the States, in general, we have whats called "qualified immunity" which isolates government officials in exercise of their governmental duties from jeopardy, but this has been abused and has had to be refined and adjudicated significantly. From what I've read, with the car in police control for danger, and Kaba unarmed, the circumstances would well have been brought before a jury here.

    I was a rifle marksman with Strathclyde Police in Scotland between 1979 and 2004, successive chief constables put in place pretend procedures which would take place after a fatal shooting by a police marksman but whenever one took place the procedures were put aside and the cop was dealt with as a criminal who had committed a Murder, he was in fact a pariah until such time as he was acquitted years later by a court. Typical woke Police Bosses at all levels terrified of having there Career CVs viewed as dodgy, any shooting incident was regarded as a career stopper for the senior incident officer no matter what the outcome, they even instigated a self activation procedure where armed cops could activate themselves in order to deal with an immediate situation taking the onus and responsibility being taken away from senior managers, totally pathetic.

    Their was only one correct verdict, the problem the police have is the country can see two tier policing and the hatred towards the police is growing as they are the people who aren’t doing their job , if the police did their job this BS shouldn’t have ever happened, the justice service is a political organization the only reason they tried this man was because the man he shot was black and they rioted about it and the racist Kahn pushed it , we all can see the two tier police service and prosecution service and while the police go along and most of them happy to play along this will only change when the majority stand up and then civil war will happen, the government police and prosecution services are run by left wing radicals, if Chris was a white right wing man the police man would of gotten a promotion and the media would of had him on every channel as a hero , tell me I’m lying 🤬

    On the night of 30 April 2005, Rodney was driven by associates Wesley Lovell and Frank Graham in a hired silver Volkswagen Golf. The three drove across north London after they were observed by police to pick up three weapons, believed to be MAC-10 sub-machine guns. They were seemingly unaware that their car had been under surveillance for some time and that it was being followed by armed police in unmarked vehicles. It was later revealed at the trial of Lovell and Graham for drugs and firearms offences that they had been under police surveillance for two days and that the car had been tailed for several hours on 30 April.[9]
    According to information later released to Rodney's family by the Independent Police Complaints Commission, the armed police following the VW Golf moved at some point to "State Red", meaning that the car was to be intercepted as soon as possible.[9] This occurred as the car was passing the Railway Tavern on Hale Lane in the London Borough of Barnet at 7:43 pm, the police using a manoeuvre known as a "hard stop". An unmarked police Audi swerved in front of the VW Golf, a Vauxhall Omega halted alongside, and a third vehicle impacted the rear of the VW.[2][3]
    Fourteen members of the Metropolitan Police's Specialist Firearms Command (CO19) emerged from the cars. Hatton rounds - a form of shotgun breaching round - were fired to puncture the VW Golf's tyres. During this, a CO19 officer later referred to by his call sign of E7, who had twenty years of firearms experience, leant across from the front passenger seat of the Vauxhall Omega and fired eight 5.56mm rounds from his Heckler & Koch G36 Compact semi-automatic carbine through the passenger window of the VW Golf at Rodney, six of which hit him in the face, head, neck and chest.[2][3]
    An immediate police search of car found ammunition and three guns: a M1911 0.45 inch ACP Calibre self‐loading pistol; a Baikal pistol; and a smaller gun described as looking like a key fob.[2][3] A later search of Lovell's flat revealed that it had been used to produce a "significant quantity" of crack cocaine.

    Why are we rubbishing our criminal justice system?... The officer took the life of a man who was unarmed. In such situations there needs to be accountability and justice not only needs to be done, but it also needs to be seen to be done. This is important because gratefully we still police by consent in this country. Gaining / retaining the trust of the public at large is extremely important, especially given the historical context and public perceptions. The system worked as it should in this case. Should this officer have been given anonymity? That is a separate question from whether the case should have gone to trial.

  • @errin-mp1zy
    @errin-mp1zy 26 днів тому

    The only reason Yvette Cooper said they should have anonymity is because she knew the armed officers would return their guns and then what would happen to these lying MP's when they needed protection, she's looking after herself first not the officers. If I was one of these officers I would hand my gun back and go back to normal duty.

    I have been on the receiving end of police pointing guns and trust me it is a pretty scary thing .... they are totally pumped up and go into overdrive mode and you feel at any time they are going to shoot .... they point the guns in your face and the pumped up anger in their face will never leave me !!!!
    What happened to me to cause that you asked? was I a gun totting drug dealer ?? No I stood as an MP for reform and someone made an anonymous 999 call saying they were walking past my farm and saw me beating my wife with a gun and threatening to shoot her (the call was obviously fake as it was not even made in my county but passed from another one so how they could have been walking past ??? ) they came into my home with guns and dogs shouting and screaming ..... the most terrifying thing ever .... the best bit I was not even at home when the so called incident happened but was having a meal out with my wife and after confirming this (which took at hour) they finally released me from handcuffs and de-arrested me. Mind you they thought they would try their luck at drink driving and were pretty upset that was negative too (they saw me turn up in my car) ...... Would I have run if I could TBH probably , as you truly feel in fear for your life and bear in mind i was TOTALLY INNOCENT .. I am a respectable member of the public, a CEO of a highly respectable company. I still live that night every day!!!!! and not even so much as an apology from the police officers who did it!!!!!!!!!

    They talk of police being held to account, but that's all we have ever heard since the 1970s such that it becomes impossible for them to do their job. This case, like many, would probably not have been prosecuted if the criminal had been white. The police are reluctant to use Stop and Search for similar reasons even though the majority of violent criminals in London are black. We are going to lose the services of some of best police unless the attitude is changed. Incidentally, it has got worse in the UK since some event in the USA. Why? The UK and US are different countries despite the Labour Party thinking they can interfere in US elections.

    • @cliffwilkins9178
