I went to many Dead shows from the 70's through the 90's, and loved every one of them. Sometime the band was on, and sometimes not, but it was always a good time. For me, seeing the JGB was special. A smaller, lower-key event, but pure distilled Jerry-ness!
Jerry's playing is outstanding here. 93 his health was slipping a bit again after having been in great shape, for Garcia, in 89/90. Always tremendous when I come across these later era clips when Garcia is locked in and tearing it up, because sadly he had his well documented struggles and could be very lackluster in this time period. Seems with the Garcia band he delivered more often than not though
this warfield show was My LAST JGB Show ............... (My Last GD show was the summer Giants Stadium Show 1995... sad ;-( ) I moved back to New Jersey from Davis CA at the end of 93 I loved the warfield - it was like being in Jerry's basement or living room or backyard - hard to explain the difference between it and other venues....
Experiencing Jerry play with the JGB was always pure joy ~ The baggage of the GD wasn't present, it was just Jerry doing what he loved to do, groovin' with some of the best musicians in the galaxy...So playful and bouncy...always brings a smile to my face. Thanks for the amazing selection! Peace...
I've been so lucky to have seen JGB and the Dead many times when he was alive. There will never be anybody like Jerry - he just had a way of making magic at will. The world hasn't been the same since his demise.
Jerry's so underrated as a guitarist in the bs main stream politically charged atmosphere that the music industry clings so tightly too smh. Yea Jerry's the best imo, but the GD suits decide that John mayer is good enough too cover Jerry's parts/ nuisances etc.. John does not come from this scene or background. Its all so weird. Or maybe it's all about selling tickets to the younger folks.... lol " Jerry... The world would be a better place if you were still around.." NFA brother!!!
One of my favorites of all time Jerry just dosist so well my microphone doesn't do me justice but Jerry does the song Long you could never play this song long enough for me
Respect the man, love the man, the man knew his stuff, anything bad said about Jerry is pure jelousy, envy, etc. The man played unique music style, no one else like Jerry!
I love the fact that the other soloists are so in Fan-dom they need a few seconds to begin their part because they are so enthralled in Jerry's guitar.
@LachozaTube This is Magic not Majik. Not getting down on your spelling but as a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan there is only one "Majik Man" and that is Don Majkowski. I have room in my heart to love everybody in the world but I feel Majik should be reserved for Mr. Majkowksi. GB QB from 1987-1992 often injured but very gifted. He never did return to his glory after the surgery as was the case with many players of that era and before.
@noodleprincess1 i don't know enough about the JGB or the GD, but I definitely agree that I prefer the JGB. This has always seemed strange to me, but maybe you just gave the answer
I spent many many many hours in my teens dancing at Jerry's feet in Winterland, always got right up front and always danced the whole time..some of the best memories of my life!...nobody gives ya the boogiechills like Jerry!
dedicate your life to someone you never met, no matter how hard fight it, Poppy im still in love with you! T minus 3 days and counting! miss u old man... great audio listen up!!!!
@mziegler1485 What? You Play?..Well, you too can play, if you give up on everything important to you now, and live off friends and family for ever......
@ phunkengruuven Well, both were good (though the JGB only seemed to have two nights worth of material before they'd have to start repeating) Look at the bright side, you're young!! :D
Good catch. 4/23/93 was the Warfield. The vid, setlist and my ticket say so too. Guess I was thinking about good times from the Orpheum shows in late 80s when posting. :)
"don't cry because it's over. smile because it happened."
Smile, smile, smile
I was there, I was 4th row to the right. I am still in tears, this was sooooo good. People were freaking out. JERRY!!!! GOOOOOOOOOOO JERRY!!!!
This mans genius is infinite in nature with unprecedented insight....we are so lucky to have him here in this lifetime.
Oh my God,I was at this show! Everybody was flying so high. love you Jerry,

oh man, if the walls of The Warfield could talk! That place was The Cathedral!
It's just the jumpiest and happiest groove ever. Wondering if he's on the spike during this era?

The person who took this video should get the Medal of Freedom
Stellar performance!
The long guitar solo after he added the effect is the most perfect guitar solo I've ever seen or heard.
Some of Jerry's best playing
RIP JERRY WE MISS YOU
melt my face Jerry!
this video made my day :)
just another night in the city
Looks like fun, the reason why I love the JGB is the song selection, and the spin on everyone of them

This cat and his homies just killed that track dead 🤣
Jerry Garcia will take you there
Best guitar player to live so far. Wouldn't be surprised if it will always stay that way
It will, no one touches Jerry

not sure how you can't like that!
Amazing ! I was an Usher at the Warfield for many years and saw almost every JGB show there from 89-93. Thanks for sharing :)
One of my favorites of all time Jerry just dosist so well my microphone doesn't do me justice but Jerry does the song Long you could never play this song long enough for me
Wish you were still here
His guitar playing was consistenly hot throughout '93. His last consistent year - for the guitar playing, anyway.

He never cared about playing billions of notes, he had a very special way of communicating music
I love the fact that the other soloists are so in Fan-dom they need a few seconds to begin their part because they are so enthralled in Jerry's guitar.
Bolt had the best tone out of any of his guitars
I'm so glad I found this. I WAS HERE at this show. FUCKING EPIC!!!! I really miss these days.
