Thank you for posting. I learned a lot. I ordered outriggers a couple of days ago and I'm looking forward to it. Anyone who owns a heavier fishing kayak, that would be hard to turn upright if capsized, should consider outriggers. Or anyone who fishes on wavy seashore areas.
Pieces of water hose or radiator hose cut to match work well to keep the rod from sliding in the brackets. Or you could just simply drill a hole and put a screw through the straps into the rod.

Oh yeah, I couldn't even load it up into the truck without getting a crowd.
Only problem, you can only do half a stroke when you paddle, the paddle will always hit the float/bar when paddling

Can you stand up?
I probably could, but my balance is terrible. I took it out on some big lakes with big waves, so I'm pretty confident in it. I don't think it will flip for anything. I've been thinking about adding a stand up bar, but it won't be easy like this was.
I have the same kayak and bought some out Riggers for it, I hope it works.
@@ryetaylor6418 it was very unstable before. Now it's a tank. It's more stable than a Jon boat.
