UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2023: I have since played SvR 2008 more recently and made the official decision to bump 08 over 09.
Official announcement at the end of this video:
I COMPLETED The ENTIRE Hall of Fame Mode in 1 video
they didn’t even include Shelton Benjamin
They both were terrible lol even 2010 was a little better but imo when it comes to ranking games from GC - PS2 it will always be DOR 1&2 SVR, SVR 06/07 and 2011. HCTP, SYM and Crush Hour.
08 is my favorite SVR
I remember renting 09. The lack of content puts it at the low end for me.
@@realprinceginowhy do you rank SVR over HCTP?
I will not sit here and take that 2008 slander 😭
I definitely exaggerated the 2008 one 😂 it is my least favorite, but it’s not total dog sh*t
I love 08 so much man.

@@theJimmyAndrewsdunno why gm mode is more fun with the more brands 😂
SVR 2006 & 2007 will be my favorites, I will forever cherish those games.
Same here
The first SVR is pretty good
@JeremiahDaniel1995 it gets a lot of hate and I’m not entirely sure why. I assume it’s cuz it came after Here Comes the Pain and that set the bar for a lot of people very high
@@theJimmyAndrews SVR was a start of something good if anything it has the same gameplay as Here Comes The Pain they just change the camera angles inside the ring 📐 and improved the gaming graphics 🎮 let alone the game’ storyline and voice over lol 😂
@@JeremiahDaniel1995
Are you sure it's the same gameplay?
Svr 2011 is very special to me
It’s a very solid entry for sure. Road to WrestleMania never should’ve been taken out of these games; a great mode imo.

11 goated but that 08 09 for sure got a special place in my heart
THQ and Yukes did a fantastic job across the board with the SvR series ⭐️
Me too. My first SVR I picked up and played on the PS2, later PS3 and PSP.
SvR 2010 was my CHILDHOOD
It was a great game for sure!!
Same here. My first SVR game, then 2011 and then 2006 and finally 2007.

SvR 2007 and 2010 will forever hold a special place in my heart
Bro 2008 had ECW and all the different extreme style matches.....bloody mess gore....it was a masterpiece 👌 the sound track was golden too... u cant change my mind.
I don't know about gore.
@@SuperMoss15 well yeah no duh. It's not like its mortal kombat but for a wwe game??? Its pretty gorey with the blood especially if u were young playing it for the first time.....after you throw someone off the rafters, u can electrocute them..all the while they have blood COVERED face....could've convinced a young me I just killed someone 😂😂
Nah bro it was good but 07 was better and had a way better roster
@@anthonygarcia3320 I'll give u the roster.....cause the whole snitsky thing....we shoulda had rvd foshao and a few others....but it was a still stacked roster.....with all the legends and ecw legends on top of all 3 regular rosters. It was still good u can't deny that
svr 2009 is definitely “i mean it’s aight like”
TRUE, plus SVR 2011 is arguable the GREATEST SVR OF ALL
2009 is 2008 but even worse
@cyrusthechad7256 what didn’t you like about 09?
@@theJimmyAndrews
I think wrestlingifs review puts it into perspective. While the story mode was a much MUCH needed improvement over 2008, the gameplay is just as slow as 2008 with even more removed, such as the crowd area where you could dive from the scaffolding. The gameplay is a bit improved from 2008 to be sure, but not enough of an upgrade imo. 2010 and 11 would only seal the deal as they were much better than both 08 and 09
@cyrusthechad7256 I definitely agree 09 removed things that didn’t need to be (GM Mode, crowd fighting options) but on top of the better than 08 Career Mode, they introduced a whole new mode in Road to WrestleMania, that offers 6 unique storylines from top superstars across all 3 brands at the time.
With what they added vs removed, I get why people are on the fence about it. But the removal of GM Mode and Create a Championship really made people hate this game and it offers a good amount imo.
SVR 06 was my childhood
y’all sleeping on 08
SvR 2008 is a great game with a lot to offer players. It’s just of my opinion that after 07 and when 09 released, 08 was the weak link. Every series has one and I think it’s 08 for me.
08 & 09 were terrible, 10 was good, 11 was really good besides the roster.
Top 3 07>06>SVR
I think 08 was definitely the weakest of the SvR series, but I’m curious why you think 09 was “terrible”
@@theJimmyAndrews 09 is known for being empty as hell and removing gm mode. In this game you had road to wrestlemania and career mode which was literally you playing matches to get a higher overall on your created superstar.
6 unique stories in Road to WrestleMania (co-op option available for 1 of them) plus the career mode with your custom superstar. So 7 unique stories to be told (granted the career mode wasn’t great) plus the addition to the inferno match and faster gameplay. While I was extremely disappointed in the removal of GM Mode, 09 is far from empty.
08 had the best soundtrack imo
I don’t think there was a single bad song on ANY Smackdown vs RAW game tbh. All of them were BANGERS 🔥
@@theJimmyAndrews Facts. 2010s got old fast tho.

Eh I prefer the soundtracks of 2007, 2009 and arguably the OG Smackdown vs Raw over 2008's soundtrack
Soundtracks Don't provide Gameplay.
So. I always turn off Menu Music & Keep playing the Game...
2011 He will always have my heart he is the best
For me, 11 is the best game in the series as the road to wm's are all interesting, and it polished SVR 2010. But, 2010 was my first svr game so I love it, I spent so much time on that game, it really was worth it.
Both games are very well built out. The series as a whole is top tier and idk if we’ll ever see wrestling games this great again 🤷♂️

2008 has the best control scheme of the SvR series.
This is why svr07 is the best svr game ever
-The soundtrack was great
- introduced the money in the bank
- The main menu had intros playing
For Raw and SD.

Its CAW engine sucks. U cant hack slots. Legends roster isnt better too.

love seeing svr 2010 as a perfect game one of my favorite game as a kid and the first game i bought back in 2009 so many nostalgia man
2010 is a great game, no doubt 👏
The smackdown vs raw series was just the best 🔥
2010 and 2011 are perfect
2010 definitely was perfect... The training gym at the menu when you first start the game. I spent a good hour on there before even starting the story mode.
SVR 2006, 2007, 2010 & 2011 are perfect for me!
The very first SvR was a classic don’t @ me
💯 agree
The best, hands down.
09 was depressing asf took everything fun out the game for rtw, and tag teams was the focal point, how many time can we do dx vs Hardy’s💀
What do you mean, “took everything fun out of the game for Road to WrestleMania”?
I would also say the focal point of 2009 was the 6 unique Road to WrestleMania stories, career mode and Inferno match being introduced. Curious what your thoughts are on that.
@@theJimmyAndrews I agree that they took everything out because GM mode was gone no 27/7 or season mode and rtwm was only cool the first couple times. And the real whole focal point of the game was Tag Team wrestling.💀
SVR 2010 was my childhood. I recently bought SVR 2007 for my old PS2. I Wish i played that one growing up.
That’s awesome dude! And it doesn’t matter when you played it, as long as your enjoying it now 👍
Was able to play svr 06 on a ps2 I got from Amazon (first time in a decade) and ngl I started crying happy tears hearing the soundtrack again lol 😂
Com on show some love to wwe smackdown vs raw 2008
I have. I played through the Hall of Fame mode series on my channel and LOVED it and have been telling people here that it’s not a bad game, just the weakest of the bunch in my opinion. I’m curious why you like it compared to others? Which one do you think is the weak link?
@Jimmy Andrews it has sandman in it you can wild out even though the gameplay made me wanting bang my head against the wall but the rest was very memorable to me.
@@theJimmyAndrews But you think 09 is better? Are u mad?
@@you-5-iver804 just my opinion. No right or wrong answers here.
2007 is by far the the best masterpiece
2009 was worse than SVR 2008 to me.
I enjoyed 2008 more.
The only good thing about SVR 2009 was the Road To Wrestlemania, besides no legends, lackluster gameplay.
Exactly 09 had nothing going for it
I think 2009 was a but of a reset for the SvR series. With the poor reception to GM Mode and the Season Mode in 08, they wanted to start with a clean slate. I wasn’t a fan of the season mode, but the GM Mode had a lot going for it. Just needed more wrestlers to draft imo.
@@theJimmyAndrews Ur opinion on 08 is just the shitty bandwagon hate for it. 09 weren't no reset, that's BS. It was generic af
06 and 07 was on another level Ngl lol
Facts 💪
Imagine if they were to ever announce smackdown vs raw. They would be fire ngl
As long as 2K weren’t in charge of it, I would agree 💯
SmackDown vs Raw vs NXT
I still listen to the SVR 06 & 08 soundtracks. 06 was the best tho! So many memories
2008 is my fav out of all bc of the improved gameplay and match variety
Yea I don’t get all the hate on 08 i absolutely loved it
I love the game too. The meme was more of a hyperbole, but there are pros to the game. Hall of fame mode, online multiplayer, fighting styles, ECW legends added and crowd fighting returning from 2007. GM mode was solid on paper, but the roster couldn’t support three brands. The promos they added were 🔥 though. To each their own. I love the game, but it’s my least favorite in the franchise.
What did you love about it?
"Improved" gameplay you mean slow, less moves, bad animations and no sequence gameplay?
@@havokk6177 nobody hates the game, but is just bad.
The original came out the same time we got PS2 slim. What a time to be alive and play all these. The games are still cold to me.
Man i haven't played wrestling games in years. Man good times with my PS2 slim.
Nostalgia is a wonderful thing. You should go back to some of them. I bet you’ll find in terms of replayability and fun they hold up to some of todays wrestling games.
@@theJimmyAndrews what's the best one out now?
The best 2K or out of all of them??
@@theJimmyAndrews like is there a recent one that's better than most of them.
It’s not very recent, but 2K14 is a banger!! More recently, I’d go for 2K19 or 2K22 if you wanna get ready for 2K23
2005-2007 was a special run. That was like the Bulls ring run
Really loved 07, primarily because of the control moves. Also loved Animal I have become which became my caw’s entrance theme along with kurt angle entrance move. Fits perfectly.
Three Days Grace got some awesome music, no doubt. Think Animal I’ve become is top 3 for me.
I agree with everything except Smackdown vs Raw 2008, Smackdown vs Raw 2009, and Smackdown vs Raw 2010
Glad to hear that we agree on most of the games. How would you rank the others? Or just gimme your whole ranking list. Curious what you think, especially 09 and 10.
@@theJimmyAndrews I feel like there wasn't much to SvR 2009 and SvR 2010 besides the road to wrestlemania and online. Once you finish Road to Wrestlemania, there's nothing else to do. I can understand Smackdown 2008, I didn't hate like a lot of other people, but I can see it was definitely a step down.
For those games, it could be different for you. For me, as far as the Smackdown vs Raw games, and most wrestling games in general, I usually get bored quickly. Maybe that's just me getting older. I did play a lot of online for SvR 2009 and SvR 2010 though. I think my placement on the games are based on my views now, and not nostalgia.exhibition
You could say the same for the original Smackdown vs Raw, but Smackdown vs Raw is Smackdown vs Raw so it gets a pass.
Of course, Smackdown vs Raw 2011 was a big upgrade. Weapon physics, Universe Mode, you could throw chairs. Road to WrestleMania was different.
I get that. I think after 2008, Road to WrestleMania was the main focus and almost everything else took a back seat, with minor additions.
I was never a fan of the yearly release, but for the most part, they did great with the SvR series. And to clarify, I love 2008, just my least favorite of the bunch. It had a lot of great features though 👍
@@theJimmyAndrews Smackdown vs Raw 2006 is up there, but Smackdown vs Raw 2011 exist. I'm just a fan of the weapon physics, how they sell when slam them on objects. Look up a Smackdown vs Raw 2011 extreme rules moments video. Basically that and universe is why I love that game. Also, that game introduce online royal rumbles, money in the bank ladder matches, and six man matches in general online. I would put Smackdown vs Raw 2006 at number 2 though.
You could easily make a case for 2011 to be anywhere in the top 3 imo. They had a lot of groundbreaking moments and features that paved the way for the games we have today (to a point cuz 2K has fallen on its face with the games imo, but to each their own)
2008 was alright but SvR 2009 was lit especially with batista and ray mysterious road to wrestle mania me and brother stayed on that the rest up were fire to
That co-op Road to WrestleMania was straight 🔥 for sure. Has to be one of the best things to come from the SvR series.
2008 and 2010 are the ones I played as a kid and they’ll always hold a special place in my heart
2008 should've been "I mean it's ight"
I have tons of memories for 2007-2011. I played 2007 offline on PS2 with friends and family, then got 09 and made online friends that I played with for years. I ended up going back to get 08 and I actually really liked it too, it just feels a little different. I didn't continue into the WWE / 2K variant of the games.
still remember those Saturday evening stealing money from dads pocket and going to nearest game zone to play this masterpiece ❤😢
I nor does this channel support stealing 😂
Smackdown vs Raw 2009 was the bomb, I played all the time on my ps2....
💣 👌 😁😷
Just dusted off my ps3 and booted up 08, I must’ve been 5 or 6 when it came out and I loved it. I know for a fact I didn’t really know how to win, but man did I love the soundtrack! I’m not much of a rock fan, but gawd dammit this game had so many head bangers!!! I’m banging my head right now on the main menu 😂.
That’s awesome!! Glad to hear you still have it after all these years. Hope you enjoy playing it.
Love that screaming WOOOOOOOOOOO at the start 😂
SvR 2011 movesets was ass tho 😭
This,i remember playing the first time and like
"Where did all those movesets goes?"
'11 was my drug. I was playing it almost daily on my 3DS, I miss the feeling
Damn bro, on the 3DS?? That’s wild to hear!! Did you ever play the 360, PS3 or PS2 versions? Do you notice any differences??
All of them are good. Literally all of them. I really don’t get peoples problem with svr 2008. I thought the class system was cool and it was the first svr game to really have a big range of weapons. It had stuff that other games didn’t have and added to svr 2007. The only thing that was lacking was the roster but besides that I don’t really see the problem. The soundtrack was also god tier but that’s standard for svr games. Svr 2007 is obviously the best tho I will give you that.
I 100% agree with this. SvR 08 had a lot of great features, but it had some steep problems for my liking.
Lackluster roster
Slower gameplay
Repetitive story mode
Graphics downgrade (it appears to me)
But things like the soundtrack, classes, weapons, Hall of Fame mode, crowd fighting, etc. made it enjoyable in some aspects. It’s hard to try and top 2007 though. That bar was extremely high so I don’t think it was ever gonna reach that bar. It has ups and it has downs. I just think the downs outweigh the ups.
@@theJimmyAndrews yeah I think coming right after svr 07 def hurt it a bit. But yeah I can attest to all those flaws too. Idk tho I just can’t pick a worse one out of the svr games. None of them are bad so it’s legit just picking the worst out of great line up. Just Bring It on the PS2 to 2k14 on PS3/Xbox360 was truly the best time to be a wrestling fan imo
Facts 💯 all of them have something to offer. My most popular series was the Hall of Fame Mode series on 08, but that was the only mode on there I was interested in after discovering the small roster and slow gameplay.
@@theJimmyAndrews I’ll have to check out. The hall of fame mode was fun and a great way to unlock everyone imo. The taker/foley cell match was a nice throw back
Imo, it kinda set the stage for 2K showcase mode. Going back in time and reliving awesome matches and moments.
Appreciate you checking it out and supporting the channel.
2011’s RTWM is my favorite mode from any WWE game ever. So much nostalgia for the backstage stuff
2007 is number 1
Such a great game!! Hard to argue a better one ☝️
The earliest I can remember playing a wrestling game would be SvR 2010, so I have a ton of fond memories for it.
2010 goes hard 💪 I just posted a video last week of me using story designer with Jeff Hardy. Definitely recommend you check it out for some nostalgia.
What’s wrong with 08?
Besides the Hall of Fame Mode, compared to 07, gameplay is slower, graphics were downgraded, GM Mode was a mess (only because they added ECW and not enough superstars to fill the brands) and the season/career mode was repetitive.
It’s still WAYYYY better than WWE 2K20 and I still play 08 to this day, but out of all SvR games, it was the weakest one, in my opinion. Which is ironic cuz the Hall of Fame Mode on that game is my most popular series on my channel.
@@theJimmyAndrews fair points I also agree with the Gm mode being a mess it needs a bigger roster for ecw to be a thing
I still love the game cuz it had CM Punk and Jeff Hardy in it, as well as some cool match types. To be fair, it was an uphill battle trying to top 07.
Also, I appreciate that we can have a civil dialogue when either disagreeing or not understanding one’s point at first glance. That’s hard to do these days, especially with wrestling fans. You’re a real one ☝️
2008 was my favorite
I’m glad you enjoyed it!! I got a lot out of it, but it was my least favorite of all the SvR games for reasons listed above.
Man I be playing all of the SvR games all the time when I was a kid. Ahh the nostalgia
Love em all 💪 wayyy better than anything that is out today imo.
@@theJimmyAndrews The gameplay was alot simpler back then. The mechanics, soundtrack, ext were cool. The soundtrack was one of my favorite parts cuz it led me to listening to their rock music over and over. But then 2k happen and I hear less rock music. I remember playing every SvR game since I was 8 and those were fun times.
How's 09 is better than 08?😄
To me, the gameplay is faster, graphics are better, introduced Road to WrestleMania, more current superstars to play with and new/updated match types.
@@theJimmyAndrews yeah fair enough, also svr 08 would have been so much better if it had proper career mode
MAJOR facts. It was so repetitive and got old quick. Should’ve taken from 07 or anything before that.

Svr 2008 is my favorite out of all of them
Glad to hear that. What about it makes it #1 for you over the others?
@theJimmyAndrews just a lot of it being my childhood and playing with my brothers. My family was poor, so it wasn't like we could buy the new game every year, so we played a lot of svr 08 Doing the gm mode a bunch, it was so fun I also really like the 24/7 mode it has I know it's bare bones but you could do whatever you wanted to a point so it was fun in that aspect
That’s awesome to hear 👍 I thought the 24/7 mode had a lot of potential, but I didn’t like that you couldn’t do both Season Mode and GM Mode at the same time like in 06 and 07. Only being able to do 1 at a time because it’s under the 24/7 umbrella was a weird direction to go into imo.
08 was pretty badass! I liked it
SVR 2007 was my very first WWE game on PS2 and on this day it still my favourite WWE game
Bruh SVR 08, and 09 were practically the same GAME!! I loved both
I would disagree that they were the same.
SvR 2008:

- GM Mode
- Hall of Fame Mode
- Buried Alive match
- Create a Championship
- Defend custom title ONLINE
- Legends
SvR 2009:
- Career Mode (with CAW)
- Road to WrestleMania (6 stories)
- Create a Finisher
- Tournament Mode (5 choices)
- Inferno match
- No legends
@@theJimmyAndrews yes correct but in terms of how both played it was the same, only thing I felt like was added with gameplay was the hot tag or whatever it was called

2007 on the Xbox was pure bliss
Whaaaat? 2008 was awesome
For me 2006 was amazing. What made 2011 also great for me is the way you could hit a finisher. You didnt have to lift them up to hit a standing finisher. It wasnt mid air yet but stil. And creating your own finisher was always amazing
Svr 2009, over 2008, is wild!
2008 was absolute fire fym
It was a good game, but imo the weakest of the SvR series. It had a great hall of fame mode, the last game to feature Buried Alive match, Jeff Hardy and CM Punk added to the roster was great to see but not much else that 2007 didn’t already have. GM Mode could’ve been fantastic with a deeper roster, but even with all legends unlocked, could barely support the addition of the 3rd roster. The promos were a HUGE improvement though. Sucks cuz it was the last time GM Mode was in the game till 2K tried their hand at it and failed imo.
These are all just my opinions. I’m not right or wrong, just my thoughts on it. What did you like about 2008 cuz it sounds like that was your go-to. Would like to hear it.
SvR 07 was literally my pride and joy had me listening to songs (til this day) I wouldn't listen to if it wasnt for this game
