substitute for jackfruit: oyster mushrooms. You can pull them apart into lil strips and cook them in a bit of pil until brown, the texture is awesome

I'm from India and my family uses unripe jackfruits for making sambhar and even gravies. Never seen anyone else use it... My grandma also uses jackfruits to make papads or these crispy fritters you fry in oil.. and they're so yummy

I made the sweet potato chili yesterday and wow oh wow is that good! Such a fresh twist on normal heavy chili. I didn't have canned lentils but added dry lentils and extra water and they cooked up perfectly.
I can't wait to make the second dish. Looks so yummy.
