    You nailed the #1 problem around the 10 minute mark, the seat/lack of padding gives you a sore ass. For 1/2 the price, it might be acceptable. For short rides, it might be ok. But no way would I pay that much for an EV bike that would be that uncomfortable. Let's face it, if you are suffering in the seat, what is the point? It is like girls that wear shoes that don't fit and or ruin their feet for the purpose of dressing up. I don't need a show bike that I cannot ride. I want a bike I can ride that will bring me hours of comfort on it.

    • @yamkaw346

      You said it right in your comment, for short rides it’s ok. This bike is only meant for, and can only do short rides, so it’s ok.

    The CAKE is an interesting concept. The uncomfortable seat is inexcusable. A bicycle seat with springs would have been more comfortable than that thin pad. In addition, how about a metal lockable case to protect the battery? I don't think that is asking for too much.

    I was thinking it would be about 3k for such a simple machine. 10k is hilarious… I’d venture most motorcycle riders would go for one of many great bikes for 10k and be able to go in the highway or for longer trips with more power etc. perhaps this is geared towards the non-motorcycle community.

Doesn’t detract from my point though… you can get some really nice bikes for that money, especially lightly used, that don’t come with any of the inherent shortcomings of this scooter. • @BlankofMaterial

    I don't think enough attention is being given to the removable battery. While many emotos have removable batteries this system seems extremely convenient. This solves much of the lack of parking / charging infrastructure in big cities. It's a delivery bike, and this hot swap design is a fleet winner. I can also see myself parking my bike and automatically removing the battery and letting it charge under my office desk. Price will drop. There's not much there but the battery keeping this price high.

    A Riese and Muller bike Delite GT is easily 8k. Some carbon fiber mountain bikes are easily 10k. Just say you can't afford it! I look this as it can silently lane split, and it's modular so I can run errands that I'd usually use thirsty V8 Durango yet have the fun of open air experience. That trailer accessory looks promising.

    • @spydie
      @spydie 2 роки тому

      @@zerocool6452 I doubt if electric vehicles will ever go down in price. They will always be small business with very expensive overhead. The cost of building an electric vehicle of any kind costs nothing compared to complexity and number of parts in a gas-engine vehicle. And because electric vehicles will always have a problem with either range or speed, or both, they will never, IMO, be mass-produced to the point of the price being less than a gas-engine counterpart (which it should be... what does a motor and battery cost compared to complexity of an engine and a transmission, starter, fuel-injection and all the emissions-countering parts involved?). I live on solar at my house so it would cost me nothing to drive back and forth to town in an electric vehicle. But the amount of gas I'd save would never, in several lifetimes, pay for the added expense of the electric vehicle. My Honda Monkey gets 150 mpg running back and forth to town for shopping or for pleasure. I rode a 148 mile loop through the mountains yesterday for one gallon of gas. You would have to charge an electric motorcycle at least 3-4 times to make that long of trip and it would cost more to charge it (if there were any charge stations along the way) than a gallon of gas costs. And you would have to spend HOURS at each charge point. A four hour ride on the Honda would turn into a 4 day ride on an electric bike. The "tree-huggers" are delusional. It costs the environment more in pollution to produce the electricity they'll be using (unless they have solar chargers) than our cars pollute.
