I hope you dont mind me telling this, I had a long time customer in my Barbershop, who bought a 50 ft sloop, which he rebuilt for racing. They raced from lauderdale to Cuba, various others, and really did well, winning several races. He told me they were sailing back to Florida from Mexico. At 2:00 a.m. the wind stopped. The ocean was so calm, the night so clear, with millions of stars and a big full moon. He told me that for a while, you could hardly tell where the stars stopped, and their reflection on the "glass" gulf started. "THEN," he said, "about 50 Pilot whales arrived, and for some reason, started circling the boat, at about medium speed. For five minutes they circled us, and long phosphorescent comet tails followed. Then the whales formed up and swam away, after giving us a vision we'll never forget " pretty cool, right? Great video, thanks!

@@johngona5929 Well we know for a fact that the Northmen (Scandinavian “Vikings”) did travel the North Sea in their longships when they moved to raid/colonize lands like England, Scotland, Ireland, Northern France, etc. They were adept seamen and their ships were uniquely able to tackle the ocean as well as river systems. The whale shark was probably trying to help him get up or protect him from something.
Maybe he smelt a bit Planktony Cat??🐱🐈🦁🐯
No, people around him keep giving him shrimp or whatever food so he likes to be around there. Its not dangerous tho
This may be the first time the thumbnail wasn't faked for clicks, it was even featured in the first clip. What a time to be alive
I like how the guy starts petting the seal like it's a dog 🤣
Amazing footage! The whales are amazing, sharks too! That rough sea - wow you'd NOT get me out in that! haha Fabulous! Thanks for sharing.
Il never forget surfing in cap may I was about 40 yards of shore sitting on my board waiting for a nice set . When to right on my eye about 3 feet away a huge white and grey head popped up and looked at me with its softball black eye . Biggest great white I ever seen and it saw I was to slimy to eat thank god
Amazing! #1 was so beautiful.
I love how when a shark opens its mouth it looks like a terrifying monster but when it’s closed I just want to give it a hug
1:18 Imagine doing this with a bear.
The thumbnail...."he stepped on a LEGO."
I always been afraid to swim in the ocean. Especially here in CA where you literally can’t see inside the water, or open your eyes when you are under water.
I wouldn't open my eyes on land if I was in California.
@@ge2623 😂😂😂
0:03 This is why I don´t swim in ocean water.
Anakin:- I don't like sand.😑
Me :- I don't like large water bodies.😑
1:12 he's just stealing them back
If i was on a ship in the ocean during a storm. I would simply just march my way up to god.
Most of these seem pretty tranquil/amazing. The scariest to me was the shark which was 15 and the storm. The storm was most terrifying
2:32 sadly Right Whales were named such because they were the "right" whales to hunt. Slow, ponderous, gentle giants with high fat content. 🐋
"The sea can be a SCARY place!"
...
Me, a thalassophobic: *NO JOKE SHERLOCK!*
I would not fancy being in a kayak above a Great White. I’ve seen Jaws too many times.
The video is nice, but this image 1:26 made me very sad.
Why?
@@epicpuppymanthe red stuff on the shark is probably not a fish or humans blood but it might be a hurt and it’s stuck on the boat,Hope this helped you understand why he was worried/sad about the shark.
As cool as open water looks, I’m fine with never going that far out in the ocean
Most of these would be within a couple miles of the shore
@@PCGGC miles? Some are a couple of hundred feet of the shore. Lol
@@1216jimmyz So are sharks
@@aaronbarlow4376 that was my point where the OP said Miles out.
@@1216jimmyz Ah I thought you were referring to people.
Some people say sharks are scary and creepy
BUT AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO THINKS THERE ADORABLE?!?
That Rogue swordfish was out for blood
The whale encounters weren’t scary , they were incredible spectacles of nature’s finest creatures . Giants of the sea.
Love how the guy just starts petting the sea lion who's helping himself to the fish. Hehe wonder if the sea lion got on before they started driving or not... it would be impressive if he did it while they were moving.
The Sea Turtle at #3 was silly. I've experienced that 5 or 6 times myself. I have a picture of me giving one a high five. The storm swell visual mixed with the fear of the boat being capsized while dealing with motion sickness would definitely top the list for me. Although I have been kayaking in Tomales Bay, CA and seen a Great White surface about a 100 feet away going for a seagull and it scared the crap out of me. I didn't even want to paddle. I just waited quietly for about 5 minutes until a small boat came by and I flagged him down and got a ride to the docks.
Fantastic camera work on the first shot. Well done
The Hump Back and calf, nature at it's best. Stopped in at the Head of the Bight off the Nullabor Road house South Australia in September 2006 an annual event. From a cliff edge platform watched 135 Humpbacks with 29 calves in the bay. 100 feet away watching a calf at play around it's mother, they just cruised around for an hour, beautiful memory.
Always amazed at the recognition that whales have for humans.
Since the stories of Moby dick one might be correct in assuming they remember and consider.
Point being they'd also recognize we've changed our ways on the whaling thing,,, for the most part,, and we seem to be forgiven. It's like they're trying to get in touch with us the only way they can
Please don’t go petting seals. They can be very aggressive (I’m speaking from first hand experience). Luckily this one was chilled.
Yeah their mouths are full of crazy bacteria I believe. The wound from the bite would be bad, but the after-effects even worse.
#6 It’s crazy to think Vikings used to travel the North Sea frequently in the 8th-11th centuries…many probably perished in storms like those.
If we dive in the Northern Sea and find tons of bones and shipwrecks, then you're probably right and Vikings are badasses.
However, massive storms would surely have destroyed some of these ships. However, like you said, diving and finding them would be difficult. I wonder if anyone has ever tried to find remains of these legendary ships. I’m sure someone has tried.
At first I was thinking the thumbnail was fake and from another source or video, but when I actually watched...
Sharks be like get off my property. Who can blame them.
Ever since I was a young boy and reading the picture book of Pinnochio and seeing Gepetto being swallowed by a whale and being trapped inside, I've always been creeped out by that happening! That guy was probably thinking the same, terrified he was going to still be alive inside a whale, after it swallows him and swims off into the ocean. 🤣😱
1:52 we need a bigger boat 🤣
I always loved killer whales 🐋 and great white sharks 🦈 as a little girl, one day I have to swim the ocean with them, what a dream ❤
don't become shark lunch tho
I’d fight any shark with my hands than being stuck in a ship, in the middle of the ocean, while there’s a storm going on.
We really ran outta footage for the final 3 hey haha
Stunning footage of all the whales....love it!
Not necessarily "at sea", but the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami in Japan was so scary and devastating.
Thats 1 thing i wish i NEVER EVER have to experience
Why won't they help the guy at 1:01 that's bs help him I'd be scared for my life
nature is truly the most beautiful thing on earth.
0:55 bruh help him up??
Poor shark! We humans are monstrous 😔
Man is the deadliest predator on the planet
@@stfsgtking that title may belong to the Orca.
@@CandieP man can easily kill orcas. Because we are able to create and use tools and technology, we have the ability to go into any environment on the planet, and hunt and kill the top predators in the environment. That makes humans the deadliest predators of all predators on the planet, since we are literally the ONLY species with that ability. We have no equals or rivals. But, yes, if we take humans out of the conversation, and we are speaking about predators in ocean environments only, and which ones are the deadliest amongst its own in that environment, then it would be orcas.
I see people here in South Florida kayak out in the ocean and through the intercostal. Crazy but they do.
I was on vacation in Sarasota last summer, and we went kayaking through the mangroves and that took us out to this bay. But it was all saltwater. It was beautiful, was only about 3-4 feet of water the whole time until we got out to the bay, where it got really windy so we turned around and went back.
@@carieevans3787 Fun yes. Risky? yes. We have territorial alligators & crocodiles who are predators in all bodies of water including the ocean. I kayak in a local state park and keep my eyes out and my ears aware.
Whales and turtles aren't scary.
When snorkeling in the Gulf of Mexico or the Atlantic we always stayed aware of our surroundings because there are things out there that will eat you.
0:55 Eternally the greatest clip on UA-cam.
