Yes 👍🏼 You would need to make sure to put it on thick roll it on or bush the portion of shingles that lift up or where you are getting the leaks. Then roll it. 👍🏼
I want t0 replace my rooif with planks. The roof is a pitch roof. Im going to use gum planks wich i am going to harvest on my own property. Will this work for me. Climare is hot and humid.
A video on how NOT to apply elastomeric coating. Pity you did not bother to read the manufacturer’s installation instructions. For this product you would need 3 to 4 buckets for 800 sq ft. Needs far more extensive prep than you did. Feel sorry for your customer.
You’re too critical. The roof had been cleaned of dirt and debris. Frank’s team skillfully applied the coating. It simply needs TWO coatings. Otherwise, excellent video without a lot of BS.
To be honest, the finished application appears lite in areas which would make me feel uneasy if I were a customer looking at it. A granular sub-lament means extensive surface area to cover means 2 coatings at least. My dissatisfaction would be 2 pronged in consideration of the product and the application. I'd a agree with the comment
Looks like your guys stretched the 10 gallons out way to much. There should not be any dark areas. But Maybe you think the customer won't get up there and look. Shame!!!!
Thanks for the comment, that material is not meant to ‘hide’ anything. We normally use primer for that. In this case, we utilize plenty of material, and even a few years after the installation. It’s still holding up great. Either way, we recommend to apply it every couple of years, just to keep up on the maintenance of the flat roof.
TERRIFIC storytelling! you know...if there's taller office buildings lookin' down on that roof, the final coat can be some sort of ADVERTISING ARTWORK !!! I would recommend a second coat, it will last longer and reflect sunlight better.
Yes it seems a little light
Second coat is needed for sure!!!!
very nicely done, video was very informitive on the roof process. Thanks
How did you clean the roof? Power wash? Thanks looks good
From what ive read, if you really want to see a temperature drop (15°+) you need 3 to 4 coats..
how long of a wait in between the coats?

You can get 5 gallons of acrylic sealer for the price of 1 gallon of silicone. Acrylic still has a 10 year life as long as there is no standing water.

How much would the labor cost be for this job?
Applying primer would allow you to use less coating. And help it from peeling in the future.
Good to know, thanks for watching.
Any recommendations on the primer?
thank you my bro.......
Can it be used over #30 felt ? ( Tar paper)
Shouldn’t you pressure wash first?
How much of a difference does it make if it's not perfectly clean?
@@mikesolns1364 you pressure wash to get rid of the dirt grim etc. This is so the elastomeric adheres….

acrylic just stays cleaner
silicone is the best hands down!!!
Man, were doing this roof with a very thick coating and its taking a while to spread the paint. Tiring. Is there an easier way?
Best way to spread in the open area is with a roller. Just spread the material on to a paint tray and roll it off from there. Worked great for us.
Go with silicone as well cost more but last longer better over all.
The narrator sounds like lil Moco
Looking at this i'm not happy with the thin application and it makes the product look cheap
Apply two more coats.
2 coats? Stay safe.
Shouldn't you be tied off working so close to the edge?
If it was easy, anyone could do it.
I wouldn’t even recommend applying without priming surface first. 🤷🏽♂️
Prime with what?
Be careful not to brack the large bubble of roof membrane may course water to leak in roof after rain ☔ .😢😂😮😢
