I was thinking about how you put dark age playtime in your videos and maybe you should skip them but then I thought: 1. New players can be watching any video, and it will be really helpful for them to keep track of the game and learn. 2. Even after watching dark age playtime repeatedly all this time, it never gets old. It's like the calm before the storm and quite relaxing. 3. It's kind of bad at this point of games growth to remove a major part of the game from videos as a lot of ppl might be attracted cus of the early peaceful vibes and eco management of the game. Anyways, thanks a ton for your awesome content :3
Hera, I don't know if you read comments on videos past the first day or two, but buying wood is bad for a boom, even with free mining upgrades. Buying food is good for two reasons: farms cost wood and time to build, so even if you could put unlimited villagers on a single farm, you would still have to collect 60+175 resources to use up the farm, and get back only 175 resources. Wood collects faster, but it's still about a 30% 'tax' on farms. Coincidentally, the market tax is also 30%: to buy 100 food, you need 130 gold. The second reason to buy food is that only one villager can work on a farm. You can invest 60 wood, and 1 minute later you only have ~15 food (because of farm build time): it takes time for the investment to pay off. Whereas the market goes "zoom", instantly converting gold to food. Neither of these reasons apply to buying wood. Even with both gold mining upgrades, the 30% market tax means it's slightly worse to mine gold to buy wood than to just chop wood directly (base rates 23.3 W/min, 22.7 G/min according to Jineapple's info sheet), even without Double Bit-Axe. Buying at the market also requires increments of 100, so you have up to 130 gold you can't use at one time: if it was wood, you could use it immediately at 60 wood. Since after buying wood and spending some, you might still have like 50 wood left over, we should consider all 130 gold to be excess instead of just 130-60; we say average excess is half of 130; so it's like 65 or 70 resources not being used, i.e. about one villager.
Loving this type of game, where you are relatively safe and they cant rush you early and its all just castle/imp combat in this frenzy of a battlefield
What would you say is the strongest opening on Michi? I have done best with flooding Magyar Hussars if I can cut by 32 min (plus petards to immediately break through the walls) and just raiding the eco right away
What is your opinion about Mongols? For me it is the best civ especially if you are playing against multiple players that are lower in rank. The power of mangudai + drill ram is amaizing. You can wipe out players in 3-4 minutes.
If i had to guess he is checking wether he has capslock on or not. Otherwise 2 is the text to speech comment for no in aoe2 but that does not make too much sense here.

Next time you can start with a few AI allies and make them surrender immediatly, so you get a bigger part of the map
