the sims is a huge franchise, none of these games are actual competition at least not yet, maybe when they come out people will love them and leave the sims behind. I do think the sims team should try harder tho, taking into account that many people are looking forward to these new life sim games to come out
@@Camii_0613you must not have worked in corporate America before. Any size company is competition, especially when they are marketing features EA doesn’t have.
Am I the only one who is concerned about how custom content would work here? Not only multiplayer but also cross devices. Mods and CC have been such a big part of the sims experience for years and I feel like they’re sacrificing that with project rene.
I have wondered about this too, causse it could be either, but it def makes me worried too that it's supposed to work over phone too as that cause majorly change the possibility of cc...
it would probably work the same way it does now,i have sims 4 on console if something i download from the gallery has cc, it doesnt get added to my game because you cant get mods on console, you just get a notification & the item disappears
I'm not even investing in Sims 5. After all the investing over the years into Sims 4 I have learned to 1. Never buy packs on release, 2. It will break my game for a while, 3. They may never fix the most common bugs no matter how much people complain. But they will drop another expansion pack and act like they didn't steal everyone's money with the Wedding Stories and still haven't fixed it.
Yeah, I was VERY invested in the Sims 2, so when the sims 3 came out, I still didn’t play it much for several years. I had all the Sims 2 DLC, I didn’t want to go back to a base game with a lot less to do. 🤷🏻♀️ Now that I have invested SO much more than that into the sims 4, I’m probably not going to switch over until waaaay after release, if ever.
Facts the wedding pack is jacked up in my game i play console 😢its ridiculous we need more multiplayer cross between console pc and android more cc and mods for console players not everyone owns a PC
I know if there are microtransactions. I'll be done with sims. What is concerning is they don't deny having mircotransaction with sims 5. I spent thousands of dollars from sims 1-4. I just can't spend the money on every little thing plus new packs they will be making. The game will be hundred of thousands before sims 6 will come out.
Lyndsay Pearson was involved in the team that made The Sims 2. I remember because there was a behind the scenes segment where she was still a developer, so one would think she'd have a good idea of what players want. Since she's been a general manager of The Sims, I've only had bad vibes about her decisions. She even admitted to being the one to green light Journey to Batuu and we all know how that went. I honestly don't know how to feel about the "future" of the franchise if she's involved and throwing out the idea of multiplayer over and over. She should very well know that the mass majority of Sims players do not covet multiplayer. It's a game that's personal to us and we tend to prefer isolated game play. The only way this would work for everyone is if multiplayer is completely optional and isn't the driving force behind The Sims 5 or "Project Rene". But honestly, it feels like it is. I don't have a lot of confidence in the development given the recent track record. I could only hope to be proven wrong.
i think ur rlly freaking out over nothing it’s already pretty clear multiplayer will be optional but ppl do use the multiplayer mod for fun whether they’re playing as a joke or fr like the toddler challenge “my little space BUT i can invite you over” it’s clearly optional
@@cryingwatercolours Not freaking out, just expressing doubts. Even if it's optional, the engine of the game would be built around having multiplayer capability so that would make things a lot different than if it were solely a single player game. I wish they would focus on optimizing a semi-open/open world instead of doing something as complex as MMO.
@@cryingwatercoloursoptions are decisions, and all decisions for something are decisions against something else. What is being left out of games to include multiplayer is what a lot of gamers are asking, and it’s not only a question about play but also monetizing and marketing that has implications for the relationship companies have to their customers
I'm fine with "multiplayer" as long as it means I can invite my close friends ONLY, it is something I dream about: to play with my besties. However, I am concerned how it will work with mods and cc
Pronouns, skintones, romantic preferences, pets, babies/kids, pools, some form of transportation, marriage & funerals should all be in the BASE GAME of a life sim. Period.
These things are not popular with Sims players. I assumed that’s why they got rid of the store they had in Sims 3. It was microtransactions. Sims players are mostly not “gamers” willing to shell out THAT much money. A lot of has played since Sims 1 before microtransactions were a thing. We think it’s a bs concept. Lol. People flipped out about kits and many still won’t buy them and those have several items for $5. So…very reminiscent of microtransacations.
I'm looking forward to the new life simulation games coming out next year. Excited for Life By You & Inzoi. Also wanting to play Paralives when that drops. I'm so done with the Sims franchise.
So looking forward to making content and downloading it for LBY - I was against Inzoi but i'm just a tiny bit on the fence now as more information comes out. Still feels weird that they were only in development for a year and that they'll be coming out in 2024. They got a lot of work ahead of them and I hope it goes smoothly for the people that are excited. Now as for Sims 5. NOPE. Sry but gave them $2k over the years and done with them.
i feel the same i bought sims 4 but was so annoyed they went back on the open world i went as far as the first expansion pack and gave up with it now the new competitors are coming i will try them they look so awesome in their own way although not sure my pc will be able to run Inzoi i might need to upgrade my pc
Not them saying Rebirth for this new Sims game 💀💀 Girl you might as well have named it Reaper. We all know nobody’s going to want it once you give them twenty thousand pay walls! 😭😭
I legit assumed the microtransaction concept being a big fail for Sims players was why Sims 4 didn’t have a store like Sims 3 did. Like hell I was gonna buy outfits and shit one by one AND expansion/game/stuff packs. Lol. I was a weirdo who hated Sims 3 and that was one of the reasons why.
does suck for those of us who bought it… twice… (once on laptop a couple years after a release, again second-hand on console once it was released there and like a couple months before it went free 😭)
@@cryingwatercoloursI mean sure but you essentially paid to be able to access it years before others who didn't have the means to buy it were able to. Seems worth it enough to me.
@@zackwalkman8574 Huh? Everything costs the same as is did before the game was free. The only new thing is kits but it's not like you would have gotten those for free even if the base game wasn't free. Or do you mean it being free is just to suck you in to buy more because who cares? Just don't and you'll be fine.
I’m old but we had sims multiplayer in the 200s, sims online, it was an absolute mess and disaster with competing gangs and ho houses, if you don’t know/remember do yourself a favor and look into sims online, it was such an incredible mess lolol
Honestly I really loved traveling to friends islands and sharing that space. When you’re visiting, there are only certain objects you can interact with (so visitors can’t destroy your house) so having friends visit my builds would be great. For the gallery, visiting builds before downloading them would be pretty cool too if the creator was okay with that.
a rebirth or renewal implies a previous death or downfall, so it's a curious choice of words, considering how successful The Sims 4 has been on the business end of things. Regardless of semantics though, i think the competition has finally been getting at them. Consider the quality of this past year's packs, how we've gotten three of the most requested features, how we're probably gonna get hotels in the near future. The approach is changing, they're learning to not take us for granted because they know they're one bad game away from another SimCity situation.
@@Sim-dil-e-icious And that's exactly the problem. They couldn't give a crap about me or any other fan who is displeased with their service and that's leading a lot of people looking elsewhere for ones who do actually give a damn. I hope they realized that once these other options start rolling out, they're gonna have to do a lot more work to keep us interested, lest we just go elsewhere.
@@Sim-dil-e-icious matter of fact, I'm planning to. All the options, especially Paralives, appeal to me as a consumer much more than EA. But that's the consumer side of things. As a business, you don't wanna be on the receiving end of an angry consumer base that hates you, because once they have options, you're toast. Granted, i wish EA could burn in hell for all eternity for all i care but i don't wish this franchise to suffer the fate of SimCity as it's one of my favorite games.
@@Sim-dil-e-iciousyou've clearly never been in sales or run a business 😂 EA is selling us a product and any smart sales person or business owner would love to have customers this invested in their product so they can continue to exploit them. When you exploit a customer BUT you actually provide them a wanted service then you become rich and the customers are fine with throwing excess cash at you but when you exploit customers with tons of trash products then over time the customers will resent you and find a new business. EA is the reason for all the coming competition in this genre. Had they taken their business relationship with Simmers more seriously then they could have made way more money than they have to date and also wouldn't be facing a likely collapse of Maxis once the competitors hit the market.
I think it's going to be alot more like TS3 store, which honestly I think that would be nice, if you only like/want one thing from and entire pack, you can just buy that one thing and save money that way. You can really pick and choose what you want and what you would actually use in the game, instead of being forced to pay for a whole collection, even if you only liked a few things from it.
I am concerned about her saying they want to make sure the sims is for everybody. Yes please give everyone more representation but i take it as they are wanting to make it a game for every age group to play. I'm not asking for a raunchy game but i still want adult content, adult humor, and adult situations in my game. I fear they are going to target a younger audience, even younger than teens that really fall for the microtransaction trend happening right now. I do not have high hopes for the sims future
Animal Crossing multiplayer worked via an airport on your island. If you wanted to invite someone to your island, you had to get a generated code from the airport and give this to your friend, then they would input that in their game to fly to your island. They would be able to run around your island on their switch, and you would see them on your switch. You could type messages and these would appear in a little speech bubble over your head. There were also actions which were limited, so any visitors couldn't do things like steal your items or terraform.
@@haileymorris174 I am not sure what was supposed to be fun about it in animal crossing either, but a lot of people did it so I imagine they will be happy with that in the Sims. At least happy enough to nag their friends to make a sim and become a customer
@@joyfulgirl91 well I agree there it's not that fun in animal crossing but sims will need to be able to use items and interact so I think that alone will make it more interesting. Not saying I'm excited though...I like Sims being a single player experience
I was in my late teens when the sims 1 came out. I love how the sims is now. No multi-player please. I play to have a me moment. If I want to socialize I go out and have a beer with friends. With that said. I understand there are plenty of ways of playing the sims. So I don't mind being multi-player as long as it is something you can choose. I always bought everything. I own all the games and dlc. This time I'll wait and see. Micotransactions will stop me from continuing buying this franchise, mandatory multi-player will do too.
2:51 it's because everyone think it will be The Sims Freeplay 2 instead of the sims 5 6:28 see? they'll make Roblox 10:54 its so ironic when she talked about technology yet The sims 4 For Rent (2023) is worse than The Sims 2 Apartments (2008) technology
I think they’re showing us what was intended for the sims 4. And when sim city failed, and the panic at EA set in, they changed sims 4 to just the very basics and put a sims UI skin over it. It’s why build mode is so good in 4 compared to previous, but everything else lacking.
@@lawrencekling8598 It will effectively be TS5 but it won't be called that IMO. They'll call it The Sims so they can market it as a reboot of sorts, with the new engine, new liiivvvveee service crap attached.
Ya know, lol. She goes, “there’s always more work to do..” and laughs slightly unhinged. I’m very unhappy with the sims but I believe whole heartedly the dev team tries their best with the ultimate decision the suit guys that don’t play give out. Poor woman, she’s trying lol
They keep saying that they want to make it in a way "that feels sims-y", but I'm not sure if they even know what that means. The sims has basically lost all "simsiness" since The Sims 4. I'd like them to literally define for me what they mean when they say "sims-y". Otherwise, it's just an empty buzz word.
Ok don't be fooled y'all. She won't correct people calling it the Sims 5, because everyone is calling it that. The fact that no Sim devs want to call it anything but "Project Rene" confirms it's not the Sims 5 to me, because in past games, they would have called it the Sims 4 or the Sims 3 by now. The fact that it will coexist at the same time with the Sims 4, tells me it's not the Sims 5, but a spin off, like the Sims Medieval or the Sims Castaway Stories. They want to make an online multiplayer game filled with microtransactions, not the Sims 5. Calling this the Sims 5 would reveal the devs we're lying, but calling it by its codename and not correcting others when they call it the Sims 5, means they get to surprise us without directly lying. As controversial as the Sims 4 has been for EA, it still makes them a lot of money and they don't want to stop making DLC for it. There is no focus for Sims 5 yet. There may never be one. This is either a spin off by itself or it's EA's attempt to quietly end the Sims series and move on to a new franchise. This is my opinion, but I've been playing the Sims since the Sims 2, and I've watched how the devs released the Sims 3 and the Sims 4. So I feel very confident that this is not the Sims 5. It is an online multiplayer spin off with lots of microtransactions.
It is effectively The Sims 5 but it'll be called The Sims so they can market it as a sort of reboot, or separate game to the franchise, even though it isn't.
You know what i agree with you 100% and i really think they are planning a brand new life simulation series once the sims is gone i feel this is the last one and they have some big huge life sim in the pipleline and is going to be huge im hoping this is right lol
EA knows they will lose huge chunk of players to upcoming life simulator games so they decide to milk this cow until it becomes dry and dead. This is project RENE , RIP
I feel like the best thing they could do that wouldn't anger simmers that much is to probably have an S-tier pack bundle (an EP, GP and maybe an SP that can even be sold separately ) ready to go or ready in the game's first year. I mean, players that got the Sims 4 for free went back to buy packs that were released before that time and are still purchasing new packs . So that could probably be the smartest move, considering that microtransactions when there is a ton of competition could make it hard for the game to be successful like its predecessors
I'm okay with the idea of microtransaction, IF they are not required to comfortably play the game. Like if I have to buy a bunch of little things to take care of my sim's needs, it's gonna be a no for me. But, if it's just like buying additional activities based on a simmer's tastes, like ice dancing example....that's fine. I don't do all the little activities in my current sims game. So, I don't mind just paying for a few things to make my game more enjoyable. Especially if it's cheaper than buying an expansion pack 😂.
It would be pretty annoying to lock activities behind micro transactions, I think they should draw the line at cosmetics like clothing and home decorations
@@Deandadee the Sims has us pretty softened up to spend money and expect the worst, but that is the standard most gamers (and most big games) have for whether micro transactions are a fair way to raise money or a game breaking travesty
I probs won't play sims5 when it comes out. when sims4 came out I didn't play it until about 2 years later, I just kept playing sims3, because at launch sims4 didn't have much. I'm assuming it will be the same with sims5 so I'll just stick with sims4. And personally IDK if I want sims to be multi player, its not a game I see myself wanting to play with others in real time. The sims has always been a game I play just to chill on my own and recharge, I feel like adding multiplayer to that would just make me feel drained and stressed.
I hope it will be not open online playing where you interact with strangers. Especially that even though sims 4 is PG12 we know smaller children play it too, as young as 7 and a lot of adult 30/40+ too. It will attract bad people to reach children. I'm a mom I really don't like this idea.
games where you interact with strangers have settings for younger children like Roblox and rec room to make it so you can’t chat with other people if you are under 13. I don’t think it would be bad playing with strangers because it gives you more options and more options is what the sims 4 lacks 😭
It does worry me a little bit when they compare themselves to Fortnite and Animal Crossing because what do we stand to gain by copying other games that are successful at THEIR thing. Sims was in a lane by itself for a reason. They need to be careful trying to change too much and end up isolating their core players, especially when other games like Paralives, Life By You, and Inzoni are rising up.
Why would they care about core players when they already got our money and new players are born every minute? Making games for kids means you have a constant supply of new customers with no expectations who complain to their parents for more game money instead of noticing the game is coded poorly or offering little value for the dollar
@@joyfulgirl91 I guess my point was moreso that the chances of the sims being able to be Animal Crossing better than Animal Crossing itself is doubtful. After abandoning its original prototype and failing at being another game, other competition like Life By You can come in and steal its dominant place in the life simulation market. If that makes sense.
@@killlamas57it does make sense but I really wish EA cared about what you care about (making a good game for players to enjoy and doing good work in their genre) instead of just making more money next quarter. If they could turn the sims into a casino for elementary school age kids that copied day trading apps exactly they would do that tomorrow
@@Sim-dil-e-icious To me, it’s not the same because Paralives, Life By You and Inzoi are offering what people like about the sims and taking it further (what people expect from the Sims 5). But Project Rene is implementing elements of Animal Crossing and Fortnite but not better than them, so what’s the point? It’s not quite the sims and not quite something else, so what is it? Doesn’t seem like a good business strategy to me.
They're getting us used to micro transaction popups with My First Pet Stuff being free - the game will always remind you that you can only fully enjoy part of the pack if you buy Cats & Dogs...
With the addtional life simulation games on the horizon, it'll give the sims developers a lot to think about and impliment for the next installment of the Sims Franchise. Lesson here is to give what players expect and want or the player base will find other life sims to turn to and that, by far, is not good for the Sims Franchise as a whole. I believe that The Sims 5 a.k.a. Project Rene will be different for the players. My gut has told me it will be a mixture of The Sims 2, 3, & 4. Loading screens? Yes, but small ones. Open world? Yes. Open neighborhoods with loading screens to each world where they have “rabbit holes” for performance issues. Houses? Yes, of course. Family-generational gameplay? Yes, of course. I, for one, am excited for what The Sims Series goes next. I will definitely get Project Rene a.k.a. The Sims 5.
These games do not exist to play!! Don’t get me wrong, I want to play Paralives so much. Interested in LBY. But still not playable games. This isn’t the first time a games franchise had alleged competitors then the competitors failed to deliver. Either in the game not being as good as promised or just actually never getting out of Development h*ll. Until there is something to BUY and PLAY, the Sims team has no reason to worry about a game that literally doesn’t exist.
Exactly, they were onto such a good thing. If they had actually listened to their player base, they would have had such a loyal following. Now people can't wait to leave, me included 😅
I always loved Sims for single player. If they do multiplayer, I'll go back to Second Life. It's been done already, and it becomes toxic quickly. I think a lot of people play the Sims to imagine their own perfect world that they can relax with. If Sims 5 or Project Rene becomes some kind of open MMORPG type playing situation, I won't be playing it.
Agree multiplayer need to be optional, I think added as something optional it would be great. Both ability to play with friends but also for streamer content. What worries me the most is nothing they shown from prototype looks like any open world which I feel like almost every simmer is asking for.
Project René is not the sims 5 in my world. 😅 project René is just a mobile version of sims. and a test version for an other real sims 5 in the future.
Just no. I don't want open world. I don't want people messing with what I've built. I don't want servers that don't fricken work (sim city anyone?) I don't like animal crossing.... I like sims. That's why I play sims
Said it before and I'll say it again, the game will be called The Sims. It'll be a reboot of sorts, online only with a heavy focus on multiplayer and 'liiivvveee service' game mechanics. There'll be a single player side to it (still online), they aren't going to abandon that yet but it won't be like single player in the current and previous games.
Whenever paralives, LBY, etc comes out I’m jumping ship . The Sims4 is a money hole and everyone knows it. If you buy every pack it can cost up to 1200k and now EA wants to do micro transactions??? That’s going to cost players thousands and to that I say goodnight and I’m out. No one should have to pay thousands for a single game, that’s morally wrong. It shuts people out of the game who don’t have the cash. It’s also patently ridiculous, NO game is worth dropping thousands on. I predict sims 5 is gonna tank as simmers rage quit, you think kits are bad? Wait til you have to pay just to use basic features or complete a challenge. The sims franchise is dead, bring on the competition !
Yeah let's see how those competitors handle bringing out packs and making people buy packs still. And then you're in the same boat with a new life sim.
Ive been spending crazy hours playing sims and my boyfriend complaims alot. He wants to play games with me but i dont like shooting games like csgo that he plays. When he heard sims 5 was going to be multiplayer he actually got happy, and said if its not as bad as sims 4 he wanted to get it and poay with me aswell. The same thing with inzoi, he said it looked cool and we should get it and play together if thats going to be possible. Im really hyped for multiplayer too. Would love to play with him, i just suck at shooting games 😂 if anyone who reads this knows any cute cozy game we couls play together id be really happy for your suggestions ❤
The visual of those rooms is incredible, I hope it will look somewhat similar to that, but at what cost? Will it be super laggy? I hope they go for a smooth running experience, may be with slightly higher end computers, but sims 3 back then, even with a good computer you would have lags etc... so hopefully it is being developped with that in mind, just like the sims 4 was.
I guess we should've started back to Sims 1 with a better resolution and graphics (better than Sims 4). Including : Sims customization's improvement (hair, facial appearance, body, height, and skin tone) Furniture (changing color & position) Vehicles (Car, Bicycle, Motorcycle, Bus, Scooter, Skateboard) Social interaction (Sims 4 interaction) House (More detail's Customization) Amusement Park, School, Hospital, Grocery Shop, and anything available. Open World (Sims 1 world with a bit of improvement) Without any expansion pack, lol
Yeah, I agree with that. It seems they're very focused on unnecessary things and it has become more complicated these days. I think it would be more entertaining if EA made it online and removed Sim's weird behavior. (Goofy's thing). Plus, I also hope they provide anti-aging options for us to keep more interesting sim characters without getting old.
Lmaooo we literally just want sims 2 details sims 3 open world and color customization and sims 4 graphics it’s really not that hard trying to be over extra hope they make the online part a choice
free with limited online play, subscription based to unlock full online play, mirco-transactions, paying for all the packs and expansions and music tracks
I think the multiplayer should have optional for open or private games, in this modern day and age, for some people the only way they meet new people is through game (however how sad that is), but setting rules in the gameplay as host, yes you can control a sim, but you can't remodel a room as a "guest" or maybe you can depending on the rules set, or maybe you can't initiate things that is guaranteed to kill a sim. I think a scenario is that they keep the same model of the current sims 4, where the base game has been made free, but all expansion, game packs, stuff packs and kits will cost, it works, and people buy them more because they have gotten a taste through the base game, if you buy everthing for sims 4 today, it's going to be VERY expensive
Honestly, I wish they'd just start making expansions for sims 3 again. I don't ever want a 5 because I know it's gonna be garbage and I don't like 4 except a few things like the calendar and knitting. I'd pay as much as they charge for sims 4 packs to get the features in sims 3 😂
I'm really not thrilled with the art style of project rene so far... I wish build/buy was more like the Sims 4. Just fix the lag, and allow open world. It's kind of annoying that they rebuild the wheel every single time. Is there really no way to re-use the things we liked about previous games? And then focus development time on actually adding the things we want and fixing the problems?
Project rene is coming in at a great time. I’m finally at an age where I have a lot more to do and cannot be wasting my time and money on video games. Sims 2-4 forever it is!
Everyone’s complaining about the same damn thing. Yes it’s going to cost money their company you have to pay for stuff. Compared to real games on Xbox. These prices aren’t insane. I was kind of hoping for something like GTA for project Renee because I would love a hybrid cross between GTA five and the Sims four. And I think having it open with the option to play with anybody would be nice because not everybody has friends that play Sims so it would be nice to be able to have a way to play with strangers and have closed room options like GTA.
What are real games on Xbox? I've never been into console games but I remember AAA games sometimes made it up to $80CAD while each iteration of Sims is well over $1000. Even playing World of Warcraft wasn't as expensive as Sims because my $15/month subscription also meant I didn't have game breaking bugs and they didn't release a new expansion every other week to charge us for.
I don't like the idea of multiplayer but I understand some people do. I want to be able to play on my own and not have to worry about others being in my game. I do not want there to be a lot of DLC I would rather pay for the game at the onset.
WHY does she keep talking about Animal Crossing?? The Sims is The Sims, NOT Animal Crossing! Why are they trying to fix a concept that's not broken? I'll be RUNNING to the competition asap (after being a loyal Sims player for *gasp* 23 years now..)
Reuse of objects, saves millions. We know there is no way they can reuse the old sims 4 code, not and use cloud tech. Let's be Real: they'll need to cut costs. They'll model it after Sims free to play online. It does everything that sims 5 is suppose to do, they'll just expand on it. Reuse all our Sims 4 bought objects in Sims 5 just so we can buy them again. At premium retro high prices. Inzoi - I get a feel that micro-stores, while not mentioned, are coming with it. No mods will be allowed since I think you need to log on. So I see hope in Life by You and Paralives. But any way you cut we get financially mugged with micro-stores. 😵
I think I’ve played sims since preteen days all the way up to college when sims 4 was released and I hated it. It’s been 7 years and I still check to see if they’re revamping Sims. I miss the old feeling I had while playing Sims. It would suck if this new project was also a DUD. 7 years y’all… and counting.
I wonder how mods will have an effect on the multi player experience. For example you have like multiple mods and ur friends don't. Will they have to download your mods to play in your world. Or is going to be like in minecraft where if you have a mod and your friends join. It will automatically download it for u. But only for that sever
Weve as consoles player have waited years for multiplayer more cross over packs intertwined as well as mods cc to your mobile and console players come on simsguru
I’m sorry… but didn’t the lady say that the game that is coming out is not the sims 5 but just another game cause they aren’t finish with the sims 4. She said that in the video when they announced it was gonna be free.
I’m thinking it will follow along the lines of the Disney Dreamlight Valley game. Its free to play and multiplayer is coming. It’s also an open “Sims” like game. But I think it will look just like far as gameplay transactions, multiplayer and the way it will look far as cas and gameplay.
"Rebirth", "renewal" narrative, etc. made my eyes rolled... like the sims 4 was supposed to "bring things we've never seen before", and we all saw how it turned out... To me this is super red flags. Idk but it feels like every time Pearson announces something it's going to be bad. I don't trust her, AT ALL. Imo She's way too much into business and not into actual games, but maybe it's just me. Also, unpopular opinion here, but i don't care about pronouns. This is so an american thing...
Since this is going to be free i hope that the only thing that actually costs money is to do multilayer. I really dont need to be nickeled and dimed for every little thing. I'll play 2 and 3 for the next many years if I feel like they are going to do that kinda like 4.
In a personal opinion I really don't care for sims 5 going into the direction of multiplayer. I really do hope the focus will be more on giving us a game with less bugs and better gameplay than focusing too much online. I am also not one to like playing online, but especially in the sims it just seems weird. That's just my opinion.

Am I the only one who is concerned about how custom content would work here? Not only multiplayer but also cross devices. Mods and CC have been such a big part of the sims experience for years and I feel like they’re sacrificing that with project rene.
Mods still work in other games where you have the kind of multiplayer she suggests, so it’s not a limitation unless EA makes it one
As long as it's on PC, modders will find a way. They always do.

it would probably work the same way it does now,i have sims 4 on console if something i download from the gallery has cc, it doesnt get added to my game because you cant get mods on console, you just get a notification & the item disappears
Even putting the pack issues aside, they lost me once it was clear it would be a 'liiivvveee service.'

Well said!
I know if there are microtransactions. I'll be done with sims. What is concerning is they don't deny having mircotransaction with sims 5. I spent thousands of dollars from sims 1-4.
I feel like she hasn’t enjoyed video games since she was eight and she wants to make games for eight year olds

They're competition Paralives and Life By You are both Single Player mode.
Honestly the game is looking really good. I’m keeping my hopes in line, I just REALLY hope it’s not riddled with micro transactions
With how much the expansions cost, it makes sense to make the base game free.
Much like drugs, the first dose is free.

I’m not playing the Sims 5 if they make everything cost money. Like why do they think this is a good idea
They would probably change alot of those aspects cause just looking around not able to do anything wouldnt be very fun in sims
@@haileymorris174 I am not sure what was supposed to be fun about it in animal crossing either, but a lot of people did it so I imagine they will be happy with that in the Sims. At least happy enough to nag their friends to make a sim and become a customer

If it's not TS5, what is it then? Spinoff Sims game?
I think they’re showing us what was intended for the sims 4. And when sim city failed, and the panic at EA set in, they changed sims 4 to just the very basics and put a sims UI skin over it. It’s why build mode is so good in 4 compared to previous, but everything else lacking.
@@lawrencekling8598 It will effectively be TS5 but it won't be called that IMO. They'll call it The Sims so they can market it as a reboot of sorts, with the new engine, new liiivvvveee service crap attached.

It's gonna feel sims-y but it's really isn't? So it's worse than Sims 4 lack of sims-y? I don't know.
The more we hear about this, the more it actually reminds me more of The Sims Online, rather than a Sims 5.
Would prefer to have to pay for a base game than to have sims freeplay level micro transactions
You got interesting take. It does make sense but we'll see
the sims 4 was Project Pegasus before confirmed as the sims 4
@joyfulgirl91 that would be preferred. But, I don't think they will let us off that easy.
So basically do micro transactions the way they did in the sims 3
I feel embarrassed for EA.
I hope it will be not open online playing where you interact with strangers. Especially that even though sims 4 is PG12 we know smaller children play it too, as young as 7 and a lot of adult 30/40+ too. It will attract bad people to reach children. I'm a mom I really don't like this idea.
Thats why they shouldnt target kids to begin with.
I agree. It's very concerning.
games where you interact with strangers have settings for younger children like Roblox and rec room to make it so you can’t chat with other people if you are under 13. I don’t think it would be bad playing with strangers because it gives you more options and more options is what the sims 4 lacks 😭
Did you even listen? She literally addresses this at 5:25.
I agree. Playing house with strangers, especially minors seems very wrong… even without chatting with them directly
I’m optimistic. I think it will be great.
The Sims 5.
I seriously doubt it. EA is being too stubborn to change if there is increasing more competitions.
These games do not exist to play!!
Don’t get me wrong, I want to play Paralives so much. Interested in LBY. But still not playable games. This isn’t the first time a games franchise had alleged competitors then the competitors failed to deliver. I don't like animal crossing....
And then you're in the same boat with a new life sim.
in France Renée is the name of an old Lady 😂

It seems like The Sims Series have become more of an interior design game rather than a life simulator
They need to bring back create a world.
Jungle adventure would be great as multiplayer that type of expansion. Would be fun
If Sims 5 is free, I’m just going to give it a miss entirely.
I guess we should've started back to Sims 1 with a better resolution and graphics (better than Sims 4).
Including :
Sims customization's improvement (hair, facial appearance, body, height, and skin tone)
Furniture (changing color & position)
Vehicles (Car, Bicycle, Motorcycle, Bus, Scooter, Skateboard)
Social interaction (Sims 4 interaction)
House (More detail's Customization)
Amusement Park, School, Hospital, Grocery Shop, and anything available.
Open World (Sims 1 world with a bit of improvement)
Without any expansion pack, lol
Yeah, I agree with that. It seems they're very focused on unnecessary things and it has become more complicated these days. I think it would be more entertaining if EA made it online and removed Sim's weird behavior. (Goofy's thing). Plus, I also hope they provide anti-aging options for us to keep more interesting sim characters without getting old.
Lmaooo we literally just want sims 2 details sims 3 open world and color customization and sims
4 graphics it’s really not that hard trying to be over extra hope they make the online part a choice
free with limited online play, subscription based to unlock full online play, mirco-transactions, paying for all the packs and expansions and music tracks
to be quite honest I couldn't personally give a shit less about the sims 5 seeing how EA has handled the sims 4
Hope to see 3rd person camera gameplay option
Anyone who still wants to give EA the benefit of the doubt is insane
Literally. My daughter said they're gonna microtransaction CAS so it's like 99 cents per body part or else you just start off with a torso 😂
@@mera8785 She is most likely right.
I think (hope) it could go the sims 3 route with like worlds, hair, clothes things like that could be microtransactions
Whyyyy they push us to pay more!!! Micro transactions are the worst!!
I'm really scared about the amount of stuff packs, expansion and other stuff to pay just to play a decent game...
animal crossing is so good! you should pay it, it can be a really cozy and comforting game for us neurodivergents
Anyone else just not excited about the sims 5?
I’m not. I’m more excited for inZoi
@@Sim-dil-e-icious Sims 5 will be trash just like Sims 4
@@Laupyre Me too! All these new life sims are so exciting. I'm looking forward to life by you and paralives too.
Project rene is coming in at a great time. I’m finally at an age where I have a lot more to do and cannot be wasting my time and money on video games. Sims 2-4 forever it is!
I hope they go all out with the sims 5. It might be the first one ill play since the original on pc and the ps2 port
the thing that is confusing is how are mods gonna be possible with the phone format
How all sims 4 players feel about 5, is the exact same way us sims 3 players felt about 4!
close world? Loading screens? Oh no, no thank you 😅😅😅
There are no representative worlds in basegame at all. You need DLC for any of the non America centric places
Gosh I would just die if my friends knew, not only that I play the sims, but also how I play the sims *cough* WW *cough* 💀
Nope no pay wall for absolutely not . Never have never will. Then I will play old school games. I’m fine with that.
If it’s free online, it’s going to be something weird like iIMVU, Avakin, Second life….. that’s not what we want.
I've never played animal crossing, either. Sims is my only game that I play unless I'm on my phone playing my merge games.
I got the vibes from the mobile Version, where you need to wait ours or days to marry if you dont want to spend money 😢
I wonder how mods will have an effect on the multi player experience. For example you have like multiple mods and ur friends don't. Will they have to download your mods to play in your world. Or is going to be like in minecraft where if you have a mod and your friends join. It will automatically download it for u. But only for that sever
they’re panicking😂😂😂
@@Sim-dil-e-icious im joking but also theres no way they arent lowkey panicking with the amount of sims popping up
Every game does not need to have multiplayer. 😩
The game has potential, I'm still on the fence but I'll wait and see before making my decision
Hopefully it actually has in game lore
Weve as consoles player have waited years for multiplayer more cross over packs intertwined as well as mods cc to your mobile and console players come on simsguru
I’m sorry… but didn’t the lady say that the game that is coming out is not the sims 5 but just another game cause they aren’t finish with the sims 4. She said that in the video when they announced it was gonna be free.
Sims was now a safe game for kids, if it becomes public multiplayer pedators will attack
The worst aspect of Sims multiplayer will be how shallow and juvenile everything will have to be to make a 'safe space' for ten-year-old Americans.
This is so an american thing...
conspiracy: They are trying to compete and have a foot in metaverse
I thought that the sims team said that project rene ≠ sims 5 in the past? I'm so confused with them
This flew red flags galore for me. I share your concerns and have so many of my own I don't even know where to begin listing them yet.
Since this is going to be free i hope that the only thing that actually costs money is to do multilayer. I really dont need to be nickeled and dimed for every little thing. I'll play 2 and 3 for the next many years if I feel like they are going to do that kinda like 4.
Will it be on console like next gen like ps5 and Xbox since they are trying to make the game accessible to everyone is my question?
In a personal opinion I really don't care for sims 5 going into the direction of multiplayer. I really do hope the focus will be more on giving us a game with less bugs and better gameplay than focusing too much online. I am also not one to like playing online, but especially in the sims it just seems weird. That's just my opinion.
