In this video, we explore the latest One UI 7.0, based on Android 15. We'll dive into the new icons, a redesigned camera interface, and important behind-the-scenes improvements. Samsung's custom Android skin, One UI, has evolved significantly over the years, and the upcoming One UI 7.0 update could bring substantial changes compared to the more gradual improvements seen in previous versions like One UI 6.1 and 6.1.1. One expected change is the redesigned icons for Samsung's apps, which haven't been updated in a while. An image shared on X by Chun Bhai might give us an early look at the Gallery app icon in One UI 7.0. Instead of a plain monochrome Gallery icon, One UI 7.0 might use more colors, with a white background and each petal in a different color, resembling a Google app icon. We anticipate that other Samsung app icons, like Email, Notes, and Camera, will also undergo a drastic redesign. Speaking of the Camera app, we have an early look at its new icon, shared by Chun Bhai. 360 also shared photos of One UI 7.0's new app icons in dark mode, showing the icons with and without the color palette. Tipster Chun Bhai has published images of what appears to be the newly designed Camera app debuting with One UI 7.0. The Camera app focuses on improving one-handed usage, with controls like camera modes, quick controls, and zoom shortcuts now easily accessible at the bottom of the screen. The navigation bar buttons remain unchanged, and you can edit the camera mode shortcuts and their placement. The leaked images show all the existing camera modes, including Dual Recording, Hyperlapse, Night, Panorama, Portrait, Portrait Video, Pro, Pro Video, Single Take, and Slow Motion. Quick controls for settings like flash, timer, aspect ratio, image resolution, metering, exposure, filters, and stickers can be accessed through a horizontal scroll bar. We also have a screenshot of a UI that looks very similar to iOS, with bigger and bolder icons and a new battery percentage display, which is similar to iOS with a percentage inside the icon. You should be able to change this setting. One UI 7.0 is expected to introduce Samsung's versions of popular iOS features like Dynamic Island and Live Activities. Live Activities are lock screen notifications from apps that update automatically, like real-time sports scores. One UI 7.0 is set to be the smoothest version Samsung has ever made, thanks to a completely revamped animation system.
