The whole time Louis was discussing "Christmas in Connecticut" I was getting ready to write a suggestion he watch the wonderful "Remember the Night"; but fortunately Ira knows the score regarding awesome Stanwyck Christmas movies. And then Ira mentions "The Shop Around the Corner," my favorite X-mas movie- Ira rocks! For Preston Sturges, "The Miracle of Morgan's Creek" does partially take place at Christmastime, and definitely will make your spirits bright.
Not Louis and Ira only now discovering the massive TikTok trend from 2022 that is the Bonne Maman advent calendar 😂 I have one too, they’re the best. Perfect amount of jam for a tart.
Faves: Christmas in Connectcut and Holiday Affair (Janet Leigh). Both adult love stories, peppered with sarcasm. . . .This year I watched After the Thin Man (more a New Year's movie!) Fun. '30s and '40s for the win.
I would've put money on that Louis would bring up The Shop Around the Corner rather than Ira, but well, I'm glad it got mentioned! Also, Last Holiday (no definitive article) was a remake as well starring Alec Guinness but has a not-so-festive ending. It was a really odd choice to adapt it since it wasn't particularly celebrated.
FINALLY someone recognizing the last holiday for the gem it IS!!! Absolutely my favorite holiday movie that is such a feel good and QL is fabulous!!!
Happy Holidays to you both! Love love love listening to you every week! 🎄🎄🎄🎄
Louis & Ira, you forgot about Moonstruck & Period of Adjustment.
TBH… Keep It is ALWAYS “dark”… But, I get your meaning… I’ll leave the ghost light onstage for you both… Happy Holidays, gentlemen.
Wait…what?
Batman Returns is a Christmas movie?
I guess I was too distracted by how fire hot Michelle Pfeiffer is to notice 🤷♀️

I WILL be buying that jam advent calendar. I’ve only ever had the chocolate one every year
I just finished watching Metropolitan, and is it sacrilege to say that Nick looks a tiny bit like Louis?
Love how the experts bring fresh takes on holiday classics! Also, Amy Adams in Nightbitch sounds like a wild ride-curious if it'll redefine the genre.

Happy Holidays!
They cut the light show, the windows are still decorated....
I literally JUST watched Last Holiday on Amazon Prime. Small world! It is really nice. I enjoyed it.
seriously gift guides are so annoying
I was actually thinking the movie with the diabolical blonde was Home Alone, but then he said comic book.
More of a Christmas tradition, but Jurassic Park 1-3 and Hook.
