I CAN'T Believe I said THIS to Mick Foley at Comicpalooza 2023

- Опубліковано 28 тра 2023
- Comicpalooza 2023 was the BIGGEST convention I've ever attended as a guest. I'm still going to walk the floor and hunt for video games but also wanted to show you a few other things I saw. This convention is definitely worth checking out. Even at 3 days long, it's impossible to do it all as there are so many events, panels, activities and more to explore.
I want to thank the staff for their unmatched hospitality, especially the volunteers, for keeping this convention going smoothly. That goes for volunteers of any convention.
Special thanks to Cary for helping me get everything in order and my awesome booth buddies MIng Chen (you can see him in the background a few times) as well as the Fusion Haa Podcast (you see them during the prosthetic robotics part).

😂 I wonder if Mick will mention that encounter on his podcast.
You will NEVER forget nice to brief you meatly!! It's ok Riggs it happens 😮
Brief you meatly 😂😂😂😂😂
Dallas dream hack ?
The Doctor Robotnic costume fits you like a glove
it was custom made for my, uhh... body type :)
Nope i hate it
@@deanose7680 you hate everything so no surprise there
@@JohnRiggs Did I blink and miss it? Other than it being in the thumbnail because I would like to see the full cosplay
Listen…if you released a line of “Nice to brief you, meatly” apparel, I would buy a shirt. 😂😂
I gotta say, meeting Mick Foley was a highlight of San Diego Comic Con in 1999. Still have my signed copy of the Mankind comic book.
Love the Mick Foley story!!!
When I met Gillian Anderson I could not focus on words, and I was supposed to be asking three carefully planned questions in the limited time I had with her!
She was very nice and warm, though. My favourite comic-con memory will always be spending time with her!
Man I love so much these conventions videos because we never get conventions around here. Thank you for sharing your adventures at the convention and showing everything bro!✌ Cool video John!👉😃👈
John, I think you absolutely MUST put "Nice to brief you meatly!" on some merch so I may have it.
💯% enjoyed watching this, your channel deserves to grow! ▶️
Good stuff, John. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent show👍👑👍
I LOVE these Convention & Video Game Store vids the MOST!!! (I really like to hear what games you think are good & your hidden gem recommendations & what Anime you like)
Keep up the outstanding work
Mr Riggs!!!
Much ❤ from WA Coast
Just watched the mentioned Cobbler chase scene. Beautiful animation. Cheers
good stuff!
Mick Foley is a sweetheart, you’re all good
Sweet video, John! My friend's older brother showed Urotsukidoji to my friend and I when we were in middle school in the mid 90s (!) and, I think it's fair to say, we were never the same!
Looks like a ton of fun right there dude!
Glad you goto go!
Whoa 😮 looks amazing 😊
I was there love it
Wish I would've stopped in and said hi. I used to manage their video team. The folks that run things (like Carry) are really good people. Glad you had a good time!
1:19 Love the skeleton on the tricycle! The Saw doll went on a crash diet!
It was so much fun meeting you! I hope to see you in Houston again, soon!
Hope I get to return sometime.
this ✋stuff is amazing 13:08
Checked out that chase scene you recommended, it was amazing. One reason I want to be an animator because of things like that
i wish we had events like yours...been once to the Us you have a great country...my favorite part of the video was when you said "pikachunk"
Also that "Cyborg hand" is so impressive...
Mick is a great entertainer.
All wrestlers are extraordinary putting thier bodies through that you have to be hard as nails but also a personality
I was at a Chiller Theater convention several years ago and met Jonathan Frakes, Brent Spiner, and Denise Crosby from Star Trek, and I was so star struck that I could barely get a sentence together, but I got pictures with them.
I'm not a big wrestling fan but I was thrilled to meet Ian Somerholder this year 😊 this is a huge con for sure. We were there all weekend and I still missed a ton. Looks like you got a lot done. We still have my original Nintendo, I should have scoped out the games. LoL! Video games, art, guests and so much more.
"Giant Ogre always in the way" that's great lol was nice to finally meet you and love your videos as always
I'm always in the way.
Should've just gone up and told everyone, "IF IT ISN'T SONIC!" :D
Just saw mick foley recently do a stand up/speech thing in eureka ca. he’s a solid dude. Loved cactus Jack and mankind
Sorry i didn't come over and say hi. Cool to see you there.
Congrats on meeting Mick Foley and Lita
7:17 Joe Goldberg from the Netflix series “YOU” in the background 🤣🤣
The thumbnail is so good
Cool show. Love Mick Foley, was always one of my favorites back in the day. The vendor at 3:00 is the Pixelated Princess. She makes really cool printed standees. I buy from her almost every year at Classic Game Fest in Austin. Love to the Game Over Videogames crew there (I'm a regular customer at their Round Rock and Austin locations); that's Rick, the regional manager, talking in the background while you were filming their booth, great guy. Yeah, they have two Seattle area stores. Check 'em out when you have the chance. You need to come to Classic Game Fest one of these years, too!
I'm so happy to see Game Over Video Games still doing well. I bought some games from them back when I went to UT in the late 2000s. I always liked that store, but I figured it would go out of business because cool stores with friendly owners and staff seem to always go down the tubes.
nice to brief you john
I would love to visit one of these Conventions one day. I would like to briefly meetly them
it was nice to brief you, meatly! ^^/
my new greeting.
Hahahaha. I thought you were going to say "Have a nice day!"
and then subsequently mandible claw him.
You met Foley?!?! I'm so jealous.
i want the Voltron too!
O my guurd, would of snagged that "Live A Live" super Famicom cart.
This is my local con and bummed missing it this year as I've done artist alley there for the past 6 years. But unfortunately it was same weekend as Texas Frightmare which is the holy grail of horror cons so i was there.
hoping to attend next year, too. Hope you can make it, too!
It happens,John I get nervous too when I see my favorite Celebrity
Man, $59 for Castlevania 3? I'm so glad I got one, two, and three all together for $100 last month.
I saw Track and Field 2 😄 Man that game did a number on my fingers 🤣
Saw some Street Shark figurines. That was a cool show for when I was little.
I saw Contra ♥ (Fun fact: The Japanese version of Contra has a story, and animated background...)
Shin Megami Tensei on Switch is a good one.
I saw Track and Field twice, very nice 😊
Look at him! He's a good boy! So excited 😄 8:59
Dude, The Thief and the Cobbler. I still have the VHS 😄
“ Have a nice day! “ - Mankind
I AM retro lover😜🤫
You said not to Google it right after I googled it lol.
Literally
Dude at 7:17, dragging what looked like a dead body 😂
"It was nice to brief you meatly." Sounds like something one would say after having the mandible claw applied.
I caught part of a stream of a clown streaming this the other day. And when I say clown he is a clown at a haunted house there in Houston.
The k pop bye lol
Shoutout to Cartman at 5:22
I need that hoodie with the Game over design on it. Where can I get one please 😊
"It's about tree fiitty..."
Loving the booty zoom in 😂
Would love to know the blanket hoodie shop name to look them up.
I mean I bet he gets that sometimes, fans getting tongue-tied when they meet their idols. always way too much cool stuff at these conventions! Gotta know what the story was with that bionic hand!
Nice costume @John Riggs but, don't be coming at Mankind like that!!!😂😂😂 He's probably gonna be Leary about seeing you again!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 He's been briefed meatly 😂
Mice to neet you mick
the prices on some of those games and machines is ridiculous if it werent for the stupid high prices id probably buy more like i used to
Held a door open for a gal at a gas station and she said, "Thank You."
Apparently, my brain wasn't working properly and I spat out a combination of words. Something along the lines of, "You Bet," and , "You're Welcome."
What came out was, "You're Wet."
Now this lady was probably in the store thinking to herself, "Wtf did that guy just say to me?"
haha, well, at least it wasn't me this time. I've totally done stuff like that, though.
Was that a dead body at 7:16😂
You should’ve played Dr. robot Nick and the new sonic movie
😂
"Going to a secondhand stores and finding a little treasure … that meant more to me because it was more of stab in the dark … because you didn’t know if you were gonna be able to afford it and you don’t know really what you are looking for, and when you find it, it’s more special to you, rather than having a thousand dollars and going into a store like that just buying the whole store…"
- Kurt Cobain
"This is great.. beat your kids legally, I guess" XD
They had someone yelling that outside the door encouraging people to show up and have fun lol
I stopped going to comicpalooza a few years ago the tickets just got way too expensive for me just to get through the door Houston is also not a good place for retro games
awww man are u at the one in Houston, Tx?
I am!
@@JohnRiggs aww man I would've lost my mind if I saw u in real life! I had to work this weekend which caused me to miss it
Is that a body being dragged at 7:17 ?
Dead body disposal at 7:16
haha, I didn't even notice that, but did see him walking the floor all day
7:16 Is this video now evidence?
What mankind was doing in those parts
Did you just call me Meatly? And I don't remember you briefing me on anything. JK I'm sure he gets that sort of thing all of the time. He's a beloved celebrity.
at least I didn't say "Mmmm BEEFY!"
Dang I wish I saw you on Sunday it wouldve been super cool. That said i did find games at the booth at 2:06 they were actually underpriced and in fair shape. Got Vindicators, Army Men Sarges Heroes complete for 20 each and a couple others at a good price. Got Foleys autograph too. Such a nice guy even apologized for being 5 mins late. Your right thou saw him not in booth but hanging out with security chatting, wanted to say hi and locked up lol.
Nice! Sorry I missed you Sunday. I had back to back panels then had to fly out right afterwards so I wasn't on the show floor as much.
Was the guy dragging a body 7:17
Lol yes it Joe Goldberg from Netflix Series “YOU”
Title and thumbnail change?
Yep! A/B testing to see which one gets more clicks.
What's with the dead body at 7:17?!?! Haha
they have it all here
It’s Joe Goldberg from the Netflix series “YOU” 🤣🙂
you look sharp bro
Why oh why is this not a thing in Canada. It has never been a thing. We never get video gaming conventions. If it happened back in the days maybe I didn't know, I was too young and probably didn't care. But nowadays man that would be amazing to get conventions like this. Now here's a question though, who is organizing conventions like this in the US? Is that based on the State it's happening in? I assume of course you need to rent some big warehouse-style building for X amount of time for the purpose of a convention. I guess we don't have that 'spare' infrastructure in Canada, nor is it part of our "gaming culture" in the first place. I'm just being jealous here... oh well.
The admission prices were ridiculous honestly, one day pass came out to about $90. Plus the parking fees downtown another $20. I love comic cons but the prices have gotten outrageous, and the vendors seem to charge a premium too. Better off just buying your collectibles online. It’s a shame cause this is supposed to be a feel good thing for the community to come together, but I’m staying away when it just feels like you’re getting robbed just to be there. Very little comics too.
That's a malapropism
So you were thinking about the meat in his briefs, eh?
With Lita right there? I mean I'd be thinking about Cactus Jack a lot more than her from a wrestling perspective, but not about his meat...
I imagine Mick would be the last person to get upset about such a thing though, really, I guess he'd make a joke about it or something if anything. I haven't met the man but he seems pretty easygoing.
Love you John, but do you really consider yourself a “celebrity guest” …
Throwing up the horns? Seriously?
Hey you were in my city!' I'm apart of the 501st. We had so many celebreties this year!
That was a great setup at the con.
My twin brother and I labored in the hot sun for 10 hours to earn enough money to buy HOOPS for $40 as kids, now it's $3.99 apparently but I learned a priceless lesson about work ethic and gratitude♥️🥲
