If you told me in 1985 that in the year 2023 that 30-50 yr olds will still be buying retro, I’d say you’re crazy. I’m 45 and I still love retro games. I’m glad it was never a phase like I was told.
9:25 “Slacker’s CDs and Games” in the STL area is owned by the shadiest guy ever. Back in the Wii era, Nintendo blacklisted them because they sold Wiis on eBay for scalper prices. An employee reported them and got fired. I worked there around that time.
John, what’s it like to be a millionaire? You travelling the world buying retro games everywhere. We love following your exploits. My favourite gaming channel.
nice move buying that game from the kid. Kids are the future that kid will probably remember that moment for the rest of his life. Thanks John for looking out!
I lived in Japan and did not know that. I walked past Pachinko places all the time and knew it was Yakuza owned. But...yeah learn something new everyday.
Lol 5:33 I had a blast meeting Warhorse, You and the People I know at the MoGameCon Convention. But it's too crowded and the Orlando Building is medium. But Still I had A blast.👍👍😎
Hey John! Where can I get a Riggs hat? Big fan, hey!, it's free advertising. I would pay good money of course, for the hat. Might would even get 2,never know.
Ooohhhh. Making those wood carved NES games playable might make me sell my fourth kidney this year to buy a bunch of them. I think I can make that happen. Just need to find a shady doctor.
I saw those InteractiveVision games and looked around to see if they had the system too. Would love to add that to my collection but sadly didn't see it.
i sold alot of brave fighter musashis when pacific place opened in seattle, i worked at EBX, (electroniques botique extra) but by far, the biggest seller was zelda ocarina of time gold cart WITH the Gold n64, and gold controllers. half life on the pc was big then too. 98 was a big year for n64 and playstation , but as everyone knows, both companies went bankrupt when sega took over the console wars with the release of the dreamcast, the last and only console anyone would ever need again.
Ohhh John you were sneaky sneaky putting gijoes and kirby for that $40 deal lol. I took that covid 19 game and asked my dad if he has played this game when he was young lol.
Man I've never been to a convention of anything but always wanted to. Thanks for showing your adventures in the convention for those of us that can't go. Good showing and cool video John!👉😃👈
That storm that hit the Convention area blew through my little town in SW Missouri earlier that day had some tree branches get blown down at my house. Glad you had a good time while in Missouri
Great seeing you again, I tried to connect up with you again later in the day, but it was so busy and the group I was with we tried to get out and beat the storm which we did. I had an idea for a hack, maybe I'll send you a message.
@JohnRiggs you know the size of the Venue was terrible. I was in the same spot and couldn't move for almost 30 mins. Lucky the guy whose table I was at was cool with me just looking around not spending but im sure the lack of space cost vendors money

Have you seen the Voltron that could have been, Albegas. It would have been Voltron Gladiator Force?
Wish I could of made it this year. Happy ro see so many faces and yeah that storms was nuts.
That was a violent storm. We lost power from it and didn't come back on until the next day.
Do you write any video game books like pat contri or the NES omnibus author?
Not yet. I have a cereal book but plan on doing a video game book soon.
@@JohnRiggs ok cool I would like to hear your take on all these retro nes games and memories good or bad
It was so fun being at the con and trading up for the musahi! And thanks again for doing that John 😁

I hope so too!
I lived in Japan and did not know that. I walked past Pachinko places all the time and knew it was Yakuza owned. But...yeah learn something new everyday.
Huge thanks to you and Hancock for playing the game. Great to see you guys.
It was a fun idea!
We need more good dads in the world just like you two gentlemen. Super awesome of you to help the little dude out like that.
I wanted to go so badly but unfortunately car trouble kept me away. Here's hoping next year is different, looks like so much fun
If I find kid Nikki for the nes I’m buying it
It was great meeting you at Mo Game Con.
Lol 5:33 I had a blast meeting Warhorse, You and the People I know at the MoGameCon Convention. But it's too crowded and the Orlando Building is medium. But Still I had A blast.👍👍😎
Yeah, I'm thinking this was a 'one and done' at Orlando's. Next year will be much better in size.
Hey John! Where can I get a Riggs hat? Big fan, hey!, it's free advertising. I would pay good money of course, for the hat. Might would even get 2,never know.
I'm getting some more made soon!

0:18 looks a lot like my NES collection before my mom sold it to funco land without my permission.........I had a lot of those games.
I really like the pachinko/video game dad.
Just subscribed to the podcast, does he have a UA-cam channel?
Love you too Riggs!
Ohhh John you were sneaky sneaky putting gijoes and kirby for that $40 deal lol. I took that covid 19 game and asked my dad if he has played this game when he was young lol.
I was scrolling down so fast I thought the title said Why did I buy this kid for $150 😅😂 oops!
@JohnRiggs 10:30 I like the way you say "Let's go check on the storm"
with it lashing down outside and then immediately cuts back to you inside lol 😀
How do you manage to not catch COVID in such crowded events ? Cool video event though, would love to have gone there :)
Great seeing you Riggs! The drive home was a nice stormy fun time
Dang you got the hookup... got about $60 worth of NES games for free.
That Vault Boy bobblehead for $5 would be coming home with me.
The decor in that convention center is stuck in a 1970's timeloop
I would have bought the sm3 cartridge and controller
You don't find the money more valuable than the games?
Those wooden cartridges are amazing.
Well played with the video and the purchase at the end Riggsy
That Star Wars gambling thing looks awesome!
Great video! God bless you and yours! Praying for you
Who makes those cool signs in the video? I want those wood nes carts.
Batman for the Famicom?! Any good?
Awesome ending, for an awesome video John 😊
I love the son doing a 'for my son!!' haha
9:00 Did I see California Games?!

Looks like a really cool place!
Seriously Riggs is yet to put out a bad video. Love the convention ones. A dream video would be John Riggs in Japan!

I recognized more faces in this video than I didn't. It would have been a cool convention to attend. Maybe next year!
Great time! Great Convention, it was my first convention ever. Looking forward to next one. Take care.
Awesome stuff John! Nice PS1 game too.
I will never tire of these missions for memory treasures.
The boy did the "for my son" pose! Lol😂
Nerd awesome with the open cart surgery, homebrews at cons and honest reviews. My top NES Guy on YT!!
Very cool ending! Good job Riggs!
Great seeing you again, I tried to connect up with you again later in the day, but it was so busy and the group I was with we tried to get out and beat the storm which we did. I had an idea for a hack, maybe I'll send you a message.
Yeah, no worries! THere's always another convention.
Cool man cool jersey!💗
I got it from a cooool place :)
That con was terrible
Sorry you didn't have the best time ever. Why do you say that so we can let the organizers know.
@JohnRiggs you know the size of the Venue was terrible. I was in the same spot and couldn't move for almost 30 mins. Lucky the guy whose table I was at was cool with me just looking around not spending but im sure the lack of space cost vendors money
oh man brave fencer musashi was one of my favorite games growing and i swear it seems like nobody know abt it
It was popular enough to warrant a sequel on the PS2: Musashi Samurai Legend
d
John Riggs came by my booth and I wasn’t there to see him. 😢
lame! lol These things happen.
