If you plan on going back out sometime, do it while you're young. Find the time, because time does slip away from you. I just watched my grandson take off for a weekend trip on his first street legal bike. He's 18 now, and it reminded me so much of the first time I took off for a trip on mine. And then it hit me, that was 36 years ago. Find the time brother.
I know what you mean. I'm 67 now and ride with my youngest son (25). It seems like yesterday I took him on a long ride on the back. We got caught coming back in a cold storm 68 miles from home. I knew I created a monster when we got back. He had an ear to ear grin on his face. He thought it was the greatest thing in the world. He was 13 then lol.
Yeah it's me. You need to get a big cruiser and let your youngest ride with you as a pillion when you get older! Still plenty of years left before that though!
@@ToastOnToast7 Yeah, I'm old now but Unlike when I was younger I have four bikes now. Two cruisers (one a dresser) a sport bike and a standard (SR400). These days I really enjoy the SR400. I think I'm going to look for a Yamaha xs650.
@gemini232003 It's cold here now but yesterday at 12:00 A.M. I get a phone call. My son got off work and discovered he locked the keys in the car. It was 29 degrees out but still...I geared up nice and warm, jumped on the bike, kicked it over and off I went. It was only about five miles so it was a blast. Cold was just starting to seep through by the time I got back home but hey, it was fun. About as much of an adventure I get at my age lol.
I'm from London but lived in Florida for 20 years & of course did multiple trackdays at Jennings Gp , great circuit and we had a invasion of crawdads out of the woods behind so we had a Crawfish boil at the end of the Saturday & also on the Sunday. Love trackdays , Brands Hatch here in England is amazing if you ever make it out here , it was a WSB Track.
i find it funny how us true fans don't care what u talk about, u can tell us the story of a shirt and we would love to watch it jajajaja, thanks for your content sean
Cool backstory on that bike! I love the idea that you made money the whole way through trading out perfect parts for ones that are functionally the same but have less value without losing any performance.
Hi Sean, I have been following your channels and really enjoy watching your content. As a fellow Christian, I am so happy to see you doing well. I'm from Australia, but would love to meet you and visit your store when I finally get to the states. It is because of your channel that I got into cycles. Good on you and your team brother. Keep on doing good things. Armen.
I love track days, haven't been to one for over a year now. And there is not a single day that goes by without me wishing to be on track again. I miss track days.
I’d love to go on a track, I’ve got like 6k miles on the street so I’m still not a pro but I push my bike on backroads and im always stressing over tickets and slamming on the breaks everytime I see a ford.
had a k6 1000 which i had done for track days in the tas relentless bsbk colours. awesome bike did many tracks in South Africa and the thunderbike series for a few years. great fun and a good few scares but defo the place to get ur rocks off. ur 100% about rider skill is huge part of being fast [smooth and flowing] and had many guys on 750cc come past me. secret is pick one a bit quicker and concentrate on him till u can pass him and so on. i miss it now [53 yrs old] but am planning a good tour of europe in 2023 for 4 months on my k1200s bmw so i ant dead yet. love ur channel and enjoy the candid honesty and style. keep it rubber side down guys bless ya
I absolutely love the signature being your signature. That’s belief in yourself and I fully back that. I’ve watched about 100 videos back to back. I’m late to the scene but that just means I have more videos that I can watch. Love your channels.
I took an 07 GSXR600 with a full Arrow exhaust and PCIII -1+2 and 520 swap and an 06 GSXR1000 that was -1+1 520 swap full Akro EVO II with full suspension, GRP, Vortex rear sets, braided brake lines, 120/70 and 190/60 tires etc I built to be tuned. The 600 made 113 and the 1000 made 168 at the wheel. They were both incredible bikes that were awesome in so many different ways. I miss riding so much but after a near fatal wreck I won't be able to ride anymore. So now I just build fast cars, trucks, and SUVs.
It is all about the rider. I have impressed a lot of my dirt bike racing buddies on the trails by being only slightly slower than them on my WR250R dual sport!
I always wanted to ride a sport bike, but have never been presented the opportunity to do so. I have a cousin down in Tampa Bay who buys wrecked sport bikes and rebuilds them. Anyway I wondered about the bike in your office, and now I know the rest of the story. Good show today Shawn. Take care and be safe. Lord bless you and your family. Vaughn
I started track days with about 70 hp, worked my way up to about 130 (Ducati 996 with a 1030 kit, Ferrachi cams, forged pistons, light Marchasini wheels and crappy beat up body work) and then discovered the CBR250 R with about 22 HP and started learning a lot more about riding fast. The place to spend the money is on suspension, not the motor. After more than 15 years of track days I gave track days up when I turned 70 but it was great fun but I wish I had started when I was about 20.
My first track bike was also a gsxr k7 which I recently sold as hadn't used it for a couple of years. Everything you mentioned was so familiar. I had gotten decent on it after a few track days so decided to race it. First race I overcooked a corner and rather than hit the guy in front of me I ended up looping the bike on the brakes which landed on my leg and broke it. Not to be stopped I dropped down to a single manufacturer class racing production 250's which incidentally had by far the largest, desperate, cutthroat field of the club at close to 40 riders on the same model of bike. I was keen on it to save money as minimal race mods allowed and everyone was on the same model of bike, so no advantage except rider weight. Raced three seasons to date, and finished 2nd overall in the last two after crashing out of the lead last season. But yeah, there's a point where you start to scare yourself more than actually have fun. Pushing too hard when you're rusty rather than chilling at letting your rising confidence naturally make you faster is a biggy for trackdays.
Still have my first bike I paid cash for ,at 15 yrs old. 71 Yamaha Rd 350, 2 stroke. It's a frozen rusty relic, stays outside, but I guess I will die with it. At 62 yrs old, the only thing that has stayed with me that long in life.
Used to do trackdays on my former 2008 Triumph Daytona 675. I loved that bike on a track, so quick, lots of torque, and nimble. I would love to get back into it some day too.
Hey Sean, Love your videos. Looking to buy a bike in about a year or so. Im in Texas but will be buying from you because your so honest, cool and down to earth. Thanks for the videos!
The track footage was awesome. The channel needs some track content! Its way cooler to watch someone you "know" And you probably have tons of tips (like the zip ties), and helpful info for first timers. At the very least, the bike looks cool in the office. Nice Friday content :-)
Did my first track day this year on my XR1200X it was really fun. Want to do more not sure I want to do it on something this expensive.... It was pretty cool that a lot of the instructors and experienced folks knew about the XR most riders have no idea including Harley Davidson folks.

'junk' its a trackbike with serious money into it 2k of full system, 500 in the damper, about 1500 in suspension mods. Its a well built track tool. It may not look great and may not be a road registerable frame but it means dropping it doesnt financially destroy him The only thing I disagree with is cat c/not. For. Return to the road frame, i prefer being able to insure my track bikes but given Shaun works in the industry its a trade off.

Keep up the videos Sean. As for a track bike, get ya a Honda CBR500. Funny how half the 600 and 1000 guys around here like mine going around the curvy roads here.
Don't do track riding, but I do have an 03 Road King that is actually my first bike ( I don't recommend learning to ride on a bike this size ) and I haven't ridden in almost 10 years. Medical issues followed by a nasty divorce, followed by more medical issues have all gotten in the way. Friends and family have all told me to sell it but I can't bring myself to. I will ride it again! There just isn't any other option.

Right on. I just love your channel and think I should get a bike from you guys although I live in AZ. I already have 2 bikes . buuut 3 would be better. My wife just got her endorsement and we will be looking for a bike for her soon.
I been looking at a 2001 triumph 955i. Guess they produced for 5 years or so? What u think about these bikes and have u ever had one? What costs in riding on track? Fees or memberships.
Nice to know, I've always wondered. Yeah I'd love to start doing trackdays and also Moto cross I'd like to do a bit of both when I have my own house and a bit of free cash

Just had my mind blown today when I checked my email and there was an email from Bikes and Beards directing me to Amazon Prime video and your videos there How in the world did you make it there. God be with you.
Yeah, thanks for nothing. Your comment to B&B specifically said you were directed to Amazon AND to their videos. I ask for a link and you tell me to Go Search!! And you call yourself a Christian.... what a hypocrite!
Just curious but why would you sell your good frame and put a salvage frame underneath it? That didnt make sense to me, but I'm sure theres a reason I dont know about. Thanks
Got a 76 wing waiting to be fully restored/modified. ( complete sand blast and powder coat frame, gsxr front end conversion with gold forks, engine sandblasted and painted gold flake with red and black accent on carb tops and runners, will be building a custom led headlight out of 4 or more led projectors out of modern car headlights, HD 4" exhaust.) Big plans with limited time....
For anyone who has done track days.....have you seen instructional track days, where someone can sign up to learn, not just ones that have access to go nuts on their track without any help?
California superbike school, most. Trackdays will have instructors around but css run specialist Teaching days. Ron Haslam runs a superbike school at. Donnington park in the uk there are a few others out there hope that helps. Very few trackdays aare entirely. About go nuts on the track and left too it..

I'd love to see you roadtest a newer Vmax and Superduke 1290r.
Right on. I just love your channel and think I should get a bike from you guys although I live in AZ. I already have 2 bikes . buuut 3 would be better. My wife just got her endorsement and we will be looking for a bike for her soon.

I love track days but they mess with my road riding .
Safety wire isn't supposed to be loose. All that wiggle in the length is room for your bolts to move.
Mildly interesting....My racing was done in the dirt.
What's your top speed in the dirt?
I been looking at a 2001 triumph 955i. Guess they produced for 5 years or so? What u think about these bikes and have u ever had one? What costs in riding on track? Fees or memberships.
Nice to know, I've always wondered. Yeah I'd love to start doing trackdays and also Moto cross I'd like to do a bit of both when I have my own house and a bit of free cash
Great content per usual

Yeah, thanks for nothing. Your comment to B&B specifically said you were directed to Amazon AND to their videos. I ask for a link and you tell me to Go Search!! And you call yourself a Christian.... what a hypocrite!

Just curious but why would you sell your good frame and put a salvage frame underneath it? That didnt make sense to me, but I'm sure theres a reason I dont know about. Thanks
Got a 76 wing waiting to be fully restored/modified. ( complete sand blast and powder coat frame, gsxr front end conversion with gold forks, engine sandblasted and painted gold flake with red and black accent on carb tops and runners, will be building a custom led headlight out of 4 or more led projectors out of modern car headlights, HD 4" exhaust.)
