When I saw the first Transformers live action film another Dad was sitting beside me with his young son, who was maybe five. When 🚛Optimus🤖 made his first on-screen appearance, the father jumped straight out of his seat - in a packed theater - and started shouting and pointing, looking back and forth between the screen and his son - saying over and over again, "Do you know who that is? That's Optimus Prime. That's my BOY! That's Optimus!" His son was confused and excited, but only because his father was so wound up. I will never forget that 30-something Dad transforming into a kid that day, the rest of the audience laughing with him.
There are a lot of things they got wrong, but Optimus was spot on. I only wish you had some Peter Cullen footage to add here, because this is a wonderful explanation of the care that went into honoring this cherished character, and explaining why they made the compromises they did.
Want to guess what Paul Reuben did at the movie theater?
2:47 to make the movie as realistic as possible they hired an actual transformer to play the role of optimus prime
It was Christian Bale
The convoluted cgi transformation, you're speaking of?
@@flashbackfilmmaking Such a dedicated method actor. He nearly tore himself apart.
MCU happened because of this movie
Iron man 1 looks like and feels like Transformers 1 tbh
His boss, michael bay, explained to him that red is impossible to film
Yeahhh.... that was an 'odd' statement
@@anthonycarlisle6184,,l
No, he said that with their current cameras, red was hard to capture clearly. Of course advancements were made by 2011, and that's why we got Dino.
Unpopular opinion but I prefer this look of Optimus Than his G1, bumblebee and ROTB counter part
I like the peterblit and the flames too and i don't know people why they hate the flames?
Because Optimus prime doesn’t have a queer flame painted truck
@@SkarKinggCry about it, Boomer.
Even the original Toys have flame on his truck too lmaoo
@@SkarKinggwait till you see the G2 Toy
I always liked Optimus like this!

Coloca legenda em português rsss e tem que passar os efeitos especiais dos filmes seria mais interessante vlw
Red is impossible to film? Huh???
Not impossible but I heard that the cameras they used couldn’t capture it well enough but in the 3rd they used different cameras which is why you got Dino, lead foot and sentinel
They took a look at the G1 cartoon Optimus alt-mode and decided to go for something that resembled nothing like it. Smh
Yeah, I was never a fan of 'bay prime'
Not everything has to be the g1 cartoon tbh, I think it awesome that they come up with something new for the newer generation.
And they picked something that looks freaking awesome.
Guess what, numb nodes, Optimus was a black long nose truck in the 90's with a red gradient. In 2001 Japan he was a fire truck, then a long nose truck. Gonna cry about that too?
Not everything has to be G1 accurate tbh
Bro, when tf did they make a live action transformers movie ?
in 2007
@@MYONLYONE-iv7qqI think 2004.
@@_V.Va_ which transformers movie was released in 2004
@@MYONLYONE-iv7qq Shit, my bad. I somehow thought the other guy asked when was it "announced". Was probably thinking some other words in my mind when typing.
Most of those films are utter trash, but the behind-the-scenes team really gave it to all in the first film.
Nah bro. 1, 2 and 3 were the best
@@King-2000 But know that each film got slightly worse overtime. The first one I think still works the best.
Dark Of the Moon was Fire 🔥
@@-GMKirankumar a garbage fire
Cab over truck is better, this flatbed peterbuilt looking truck never clicked for me🤷
