I’ve had my pair of Pro 4’s for a couple of weeks now. Based on your earlier review I went up a half size to a US 12.5 and it’s perfect. Same sizing issue as the SL2 it runs a bit short. If you can’t try them on first start with a half size up and save yourself from having to send them back for a larger size. 9 out of 10 times this should work.
Without watching Im guessing the warning is about sizing - I've just returned by 10's for a 10.5 - nearly went with the AMS Paris but the step in feel and ride of the AP4 blew me away, cheers Fordy, valuable content as always.
Agreed, I’m 1/2 size up in all adidas shoes compared to the rest. With a wider foot it’s more obvious across their range that the US/UK sizing doesn’t match up.
Cheers Chris, always appreciate your point of view. Adidas keep messing with their sizing, I had to half size up with the Boston 9, then normal size on AP3 - sounds like its up again!
Sizing has been a problem with Adidas for me since the release of the Ultraboost Light (23). This year (2024) I have tried a few shoes in store from Adidas and none worked for me anymore at my size 8.5 US. Size 9 is rare here for most colorways and size 9.5 is too big at the sides, but ok in length. In 2024 I replaced Adidas for Puma shoes where they fit me perfectly at size 8.5 US as all other brands do. Anyways, for Asics I prefer size 9 but that is another story ...
Whenever i buy running shoes, I always go based on the US sizing. I am a UK size 9, which is a US size 10. But for Adidas, Hoka and New Balance, UK size 9.5 is US size 10. I have never had an issue with those brands mentioned because I follow the US sizing and they always fit the same as Nike or Asics for example which follows the UK 9 to US 10 conversion.
Good review! I always go up 1/2 size in Adidas and Hoka shoes ... looking forward to the Hoka Cielo X2 launch in Feb. If hype is to be believed, they will give Adidas Pro 4 a run for their money (excuse the pun!) in terms of weight and propulsion
I just received my AP4s after sending the first pair back for a half size larger. This shoe definitely runs short compared to my other 5 pairs of adidas shoes which are true to size.
Mine fits TTS standing but my foot slides to the end when running. The upper is designed to stretch in one direction (not side to side). I believe this is the sizing issue most people are dealing with.
Ordered this shoe, it didn’t show up in the usual time frame. Checked my my email and saw it had been returned! Called the company and somehow it never got shipped, just kicked back to returns! In the meantime I heard where some bigger runners could feel the rods in this shoe… as a bigger runner I think I will wait it out.
No need to apologise about quoting minutes per mile. Minutes per mile makes more sense to me personally, than minutes per km. I doubt these Adidas shoes would be compatible with my feet and running style, but hoping to see a review soon of the Saucony Endorphin Trainer. Happy New Year 🙂.
They make more sense to you, if you live in a country which uses the old Imperial System, but 99% of the world uses the Metric System, and Fordy has an international audience.
@@CATinBOOTS81 Each to their own there. I will stick with miles. Of course, there are UA-cam channels like the Run Testers who put both miles and km stats up during their videos so it caters for mile and km lovers.
Are you saying now that Adidas has shrunk it's shoes? I'm asking because my experience, as a Adidas-man, is that Adidas has made their shoes larger than previously. I have been forced to go half a size smaller on the Bosten 12's, the Agravic Speed and the Ultra, and I bought a pair of second hand Pro 3''s, in my original size, but find that they should absolutely been half a size smaller. Is seriously considering buying the Pro 4, and the Evo SL's, but now I'm not sure about sizing.
I have the Evo SL's and I personally have no issues whatsoever with the sizing. I am a UK 8 and they fit perfectly with a good amount of room in the toe-box area, without any heel slip issues.
@@FordyRuns I'm originally a UK 7, but have had to go down to a 6.5 in the above mentioned shoes. The Pro 3's I've got is a 7. They're ok to run in, but even after a run I see that there's room to spear in the front. The Agravics are spot on in 6.5, but I don't experience any problems at the end of a run although theire "tight".
From most of the reviews I watched about this shoe, it appears to be sizing a bit short. The best comparison is with the adios pro 3. It's apparently a bit narrower, and the tip of the shoe is a bit pointier making it feel shorter.
I got a wider foot so I went half size up, which made me more comfortable in-terms of width (US9.5). But overall, it is a bit roomy for my foot and it causes me some heel slippage which results to rubbing. I tried to flip the tab inward. It helped but it only delayed the rubbing/pain. Tried all sizes of socks as well as I am really loving the midsole but still got that rubbing. Not sure if I will not get this rubbing if I went with US9. For reference, US9 Evo SL is a perfect fit for me.
@@caroselangelomalinis7463 it's a shame, it solved mine with a pair of Nike Pegasus, which were a little too wide (unfortunately Nike offered them only with standard width - too narrow, or extra wide - better, but without a Runner's Knot the heel slips a little).
Hey Fordy! I´m about to run my first ever Marathon in Berlin 2025 and i´m thinking about my race shoes for this one. I plan to finish the Marathon somewhere between 4:00 and 4:30 hrs. I´m pretty tall with 1.93m and about 83kg. I was thinking abot the Endorphin Pro 4, but is the Adidas also an alternative? Thank you in advance
Unpopular opinion: Measure foot heel to toe, add 0,5-1 cm and buy the size that corresponds to that instead of gambling with half a size up or down based on whatever shoe you previously had that fit?
I have not run in mine yet (size US11.5) but when I tried them on they did seem rather tight compared to the Pro 3s. I am wondering if i should try and swap them US12s.
I'm a UK9 on B12s and just tried the P4s in store today. UK9 is tight (with thin-ish socks) but at the same time Uk9.5 becomes a bit too loose 😭 so I'm at a loss but I could get thicker socks but not a fan cause of heat where I'm from. In my case I'd need a quarter size up which won't be happening but yes very snug and almost to the point of biting my heel in UK9 for the P4s. Half size up would be advisable.
I tried SL2 half a size up (EU 42 2/3) instead of my usual 42, and they were so short that I couldn't even have my feet fully deployed on the floor, just curled up 😅 and of course they were too narrow 😅 Adidas sizing is a joke 😂
Great review Fordy ! I am on holiday at the moment and came across an Xtep shop . I ride on the x160 5.0 which felt insane but I’m not sure how I feel about a Chinese race shoe brand .
Fit shorts is not a Big deal the Pro 3 fotos larger so Many people are happy now, so the Best is try on store if the shoe didnt fit at first try is not going to improve,

Fitting TTS same as adios Pro 3 for me :-)

That thumbnail colorway is so good

Yeah it’s a bit hit and miss
Definitely not half a size up in the Boston 12 for example.
Same mistake I made with the Pro 3
Adidas sizing is off. US9 UK8Eur 42, is my size.
So I got the UK 8 which I didn’t know is US8.5 & Eur 41.5
Cheers Chris, always appreciate your point of view.

there you go
Happy new year mate all the best
May be I’ll buy it when it will be available in France. I really love the pro 3
get them they are better
Very helpful. You prefer these to the Sky Paris?
For marathon yes
I always half size up in Adidas vs other brands so no surprise to me. Hoping Im quick enough to bag a pair on the 2nd
I’ve never had the problem
You obviously don’t have a pair of ASICS Metaspeed Paris.
@@edlorenz1552 Afraid not but did have the sky plus in size 12 and they fit spot on. Minefield isnt it

its strange... i had like 4 pairs of pro 3 and ALL of them were bang on... I am 9.5 in boston 12, ultraboost 5, SL2 everything but these are too small

Try to make a Runner's Knot, it should fix your problem. There are plenty of tutorials on how to do it on UA-cam.

Fordy for clarification what size were you in pro 3s and you're a 1/2 size up in the 4?
Pro 3 = UK9.5 and for Pro 4 I need UK10

are those energy rods carbon or plastic?
Is this version not recommended for overpronators?
No get the nb sc elite 4

i would
I'm 11 US for the Pro 3's but will go to 11.5 from everything I hear - will use these for LM. Now if I can just stick to Coopah training...
agree. im going up 1/2 size as well
perfect
So I’m not sure if others. Had this same issue but the strips on my shoe started coming off.
Re sizing… is it “true to size” in EU? Sometimes the US/UK sizing can be half size out.
If adizero boston 12 i use 8.5 uk size and the ap4 did i need to up half size which is 9uk ? I hope u can answer me 😢

yes the sizing spoiled it all for me as well.
sorry to hear that

I find all Adidas shoes small and tight. From SL2 to Samba and Gazelle. Germans must be slender of foot.
Their sizing is all over the place
Why is a British man like you using miles
because I am old school
But, it costs a fortune
They are race shoes, they are always expensive.
