Me also!! I never liked Sheldon, either on TBBT or on YS. I would watch YS for George, Missy, and Georgie, ❤❤❤. Despite everything, he grew up in to a successful and good man.
Georgie is honestly the best character in my opinion. He had the best character development. He matures and learns from his mistakes. And in the end becomes the most mature and caring of the family. His family never shows the love he deserves. I deserved more.
@@KC-rp5se I think they meant that he realized that it's time to become an adult , his name was George Cooper but always been called by Georgie as there was his father ( old / adult one ) George and he's the younger version of him , however after his father death that ( i ) gone and he realized that it's time to grow up faster and embrace adulthood with all the responsibilities 😢
On my dad's death bed, my older brother promised to take care of mom and the family. And he ended up taking good care of all of us. Was literally there every moment with my mom when she got sick a few years later after a stroke. We communicated every day while he busted his ass taking care of mom and making sure her assets went where they needed to go. When my mom passed away, he had managed to protect her house, keeping it in the family. And he gave me her car, which is what she wanted. He kept his word. I love my older brother. He reminds me so much of Georgie here.
I didn’t watch Young Sheldon, but I can relate in real life by watching this scene. At 17, 2 months shy of graduating high school, my Dad died suddenly. I relive the day / week he died every year. I grew up instantly, and no, I never got a chance to grieve. The suit scene is surreal because I picked out the suit that he was buried in after the services. This was 37 years ago, and I don’t recall too much fuss over pictures at wakes in those days. My brother was a Junior in college, and I left for school 4 months later. I was woefully prepared to be away from home that soon after his passing. I still graduated in 4 years, and had a good job for 24 years as a 911 dispatcher. However, my health has taken a bad turn over those 37 years. Began a year before he died. Sometimes I think that because I just went on as if he was going to just come home from work, as he worked so hard I barely even saw him, that I just never healed from the trauma. If you take the time to read this, thank you.
@lauranowak3632 I'm sorry that happened to you. You are strong to go through that. I haven't been through something like that, but I can say that sadly some scars life gives us can never heal.
I always thought Missy was my favorite character (which she is) but as Georgie got older he became so responsible and sweet. I appreciate how his character changed as he matured
Mary always took care of everything, FOR SHELDON. She was so busy fussing over him that she was kind of absent for her other children, especially Missy.
The character development from Georgie is all thanks to George never really giving up on him. He challenged him and held him responsible for Georgie's decisions but when he needed him the most George was always there. That's why Georgie grew up to be one hell of a man; This is why fathers are important in a child's development just as important as the mother.
Been there, done that with my own family. Got married and have to do that for my wife’s family, too. The one thing that nobody thinks about unless you’ve been in those shoes is how you are doing. Having to be the rock that everyone clings to, it can be overwhelming. So, for all the Georgie folks in the world being the rock, thank you. Bless you. And know that we appreciate you beyond words.
As a first born, I can relate so much. Lost my father a year ago. You automatically become an adult overnight. You just know there's no time for you to process your grief or you need to do it alone so as not to project it on your mom and younger siblings. From the very next moment, you start doing everything...consoling your family, taking financial responsibility of family, winding up dad's business and finances, arranging funeral and so much more. Worst thing was I was 3 months pregnant at that time and then till the last day of my pregnancy I was doing everything. Running around, driving, talking with everyone, making financial arrangements, clearing up dad's loans and debts and even dealing with harassment of lenders by running to and fro police station. Today is his 1st death anniversary and I just miss him so damn much.
Georgie made some mistakes but he was a good son, brother, and father. He did everything he could for his family no matter what. He made mistakes and a lot of them but he was the best man in the show❤️
When their mom left for Germany, missy was the adult one but was fed up after a point and made everyone else do their part but when their Dad left, Georgie made sure that everyone else is not affected and handled it himself❤
Georgie was the best he did took care of everyone . This hit different . After seeing Mary leaving the Thanksgiving dinner and Georgie gave his mother a hug.
Missy never understood that Shelton. Couldn't express motions in the same way like the rest of the family. She didn't realize deep down. Sheldon was broken up. But he also felt guilty about himself because he He took his father for granted, and he never felt like he showed affection enough. He's also coming to the terms he'll never be able to now.
His father would have been so proud of him and the wonderful man he became. Georgie really stepped up and took care of everyone. Definitely the best character development of Young Sheldon.
In the new series carrying the load is starting to crush Georgie. I'm glad they are showing the strain it put on him. It's rough trying to be the strong one when your family is shattered
The older Georgie is missing out on one thing that not only Mary was angry about losing her husband but she always took control of babing Sheldon more than the other children
On this show it proved that at times the child the family had no inclination or ability of caring, or sence of responsible. When it was needed but at the right time shine as a brave soul to pull others out of there hard times when they needed it the most while the others just existed but couldn’t help or had the ability to know or how care or stand on there own yet. There is a Georgie in every family and at time you can’t tell which one will shine.
Sheldon always acted like he didn’t care while is loved ones mourned and grieved. But I think he was trying to hide the pain he was in from losing his dad because everyone knew him as the smart sophisticated man at on 14 or 15
Not gonna lie. I started to watch young Sheldon because of Georgie i like his vibe and character development through the series.. from Goofy, irresponsible teenager to responsible resourceful sweet & cool brother and father..
Georgie cared for his family and was there for everyone. I absolutely hate how his parents treated him when he was younger and how he still gets treated. He's probably the only good kid out of the three. Edit: ive never watched BBT so i don't know how all the characters act like when there older. Im only saying this from what i got out of YS.
Georgie is an absolute unit of a man. Fearless, virtuous, courageous, responsible, savvy. Teenage dad, who not only took care of his family, but his mom and sister too. And he built an empire. Fucking machine
The moment you realise your Dad is gone realygoneis the most horrible moment one hae to go through. Georgie ( sorry he is no longer Georgie his is George by now) He took over his fathers position and he did it so well without any help. I guess he askes himself what would dad have done . He had his rolemodel in his head. I`m just sorry he has to start beeing the man in the house with a teenage girl like missy how was more terrible because she was grieving so much and he knew.
Sheldon saying "Mom did. Mom always took care of everything," because Mary always made sure HE was taken care of. Not saying she didn't try with the others, but you could always tell who her priority was.
what's sad is that Georgie was helpful a lot but the other 2 were brats and Sheldon was babied by his mom. They always gave Georgie a hard time. Missy saying to Georgie you can't tell us what to do your not dad. She never listen to her dad.
This is why I never liked Sheldon in the later seasons of Young Sheldon. He never considered anyone else’s needs. The actor they chose to play young Georgie couldn't look more similar to adult Georgie. And he's very good actor too. Best casting for a prequel ever
