Seems more and more sf authors have been listening to Dr. Jordan Peterson. It figures that future humans would make a star mobile to use as a weapon. I find it hilarious, that even in the far future where humanity has become an advanced intelligence species, they STILL call the seeds of coffee cherries they grind up to make their coffee "beans."
Ok, I have a question about the police force. If they're using an American or European model then there would be a distinction between Military & Police with maybe a National Guard or Gendarmerie providing support to police or taking over in situations of instability. Unless they're talking about some kind of Coast Guard but they're more of a hybrid of police & military with limited roles & capabilities that are well defined. There is a reason why Police & Military are not given the same roles. Unless the Aliens can't tell the difference which is usually a mistake.
