Working across media since the 1960s, Paik established himself as an early innovator of video art, setting the scene for many of today’s contemporary art practices. I've been into video and vintage video effects for over 20 years and only discovered Nam June Paik in more recent years, his work is magnificent! I saw one of his great TV sculptures which was the Abraham Lincoln TV sculpture with video art displayed on the TVs at MONA Art Museum in Hobart, Tasmania, it was great to see in person!

IKR? My first TV art was in 1972: a sideways 14" b&w stuck in a wall sconce on uhf, so partying friends could adjust the image by dancing in front of it! Read the first book about video art: 📹 CINEMA by Gene Youngblood.
