So I just want to say that I started my natural nail care journal about 3 weeks ago...I was tried of going to the nail shop, so I started watching UA-cam videos and came across your channel I watched it about a thousand times lol...I just want to say thank you....i still have a long way to go but I can differently see a difference. I was going to add a picture but It won't let me or should I say I don't know how lol but It diffently takes time and patience...but I can see a big difference.

I taught myself how to play the violin when I was a senior in high school and when I got to college my violin teacher got on me about my long nails. He told me if I can touch the table with the tip of my nails then they're too long. I had a decision to make...play violin the right way or cut my nails. Back then I hated short nails. The tips of my fingers would get very tender if my nails were short. They even get that way if I take the polish off and don't put any more on. Needless to say I stopped playing the violin. If I knew then what I know now I would've kept up with that doggone violin!!
jessica - I have long nails and struggle with gloves. Most of us put a small slit in the tips of the gloves. I know someone who actually is working on a design for gloves like this. Lol.
I can grow my nails very long, and I always file them into points to look like claws. My problem is that when I break them, it's usually when I'm sleeping. You know when you jerk during sleep (hypnagogic jerk), or a muscle twitches (sleep myoclonus)? I hate when my fingers twitch. I wish there was something I could do about it, so I can avoid breaking nails. I try to sleep in the same position, with my fingers wrapped around soft neck pillows, but often find myself in a different position anyway. My nails are very strong throughout the day, but the intensity of the twitching at night sometimes is what breaks them, and every time I sleep I'm taking a risk. Maybe it's stress which is causing sleeping difficulties, which leads to the twitching -- I don't know. But I don't want my nails to break anymore. I also hate when the sides of my nails are somehow uneven, or lopsided, or when they start to, I don't know, indent on the sides, I guess you could say. Or when they look crooked in some way. It's frustrating always trying to file them in order for them to go the way I want them. It's very difficult for the filing to even really fix the problems, and then the nails get weakened anyway from all the filing and are more prone to breaking during sleep, or sometimes the filing shortens the nail as I try to correct the way the nail curves. And you know those bits of skin on the side of your fingers (or maybe just slightly weakened portions of nail) near the nail bed? They form on my nails and I can't describe them well, but they end up distorting the shape of my nails, as well. Does anyone have any solutions?

First I love all of your videos and your nails our gorgeous! I have had nightmares of breaking my nails and I was devastated but so happy when I woke up to find it was just a dream. I naturally sleep sorta in a fetal position with my hands in a ball so I don't worry about breaks while sleeping. Your cleaning advice has helped me so much! Especially when I do pots and pans. Lastly it does suck when a nail inadvertently bends with gloves on while cleaning. Keeping the underneath part of my free edge oiled has allowed my nails to bend without breaking when this happens. Thanks for all of your advice!
I love your channel and do most of your tips naturally to protect my nails. I did break one nail this year in my sleep, I was saddened I was unable to save it with glue. I do find I poke my eye often with long natural nails.
I've used my knuckles for pressing buttons and opening creams for years, but have snapped my nails so many times cleaning with gloves on and jabbing my nail against a pot! I'll give this a go! I can grow mine to maybe 2/3 the length you have but always get breaks around the smile line - any tips would be gratefully received!!💅🙄

Beautiful nails! Many years ago my nails were much longer than they are now. My pinky nails were just over an inch long. One night I abruptly work up after having bent one of the pinky nails back in my sleep. After that painful experience I cut them down to about have the length.😮
I have pet guinea pigs and I had to file all my nails down after one of my guinea pigs bit through one of my nails. It looked a bit like someone had used a hole punch on my nail. I discovered that day that Wriggles finds nail art very interesting :/

First off I have long nails thanks to you. . I recently tried almond shape and came to the conclusion that for my type of nail and length I could not keep them that shape because they were constantly bending thankfully not breaking . So I am transitioning back into square.
I WISH I could have nails even CLOSE to your length; I'm a violinist & music teacher, so I have to keep them short for work. But they're also pretty weak & peel into layers anyway, so I don't think they'd ever get that long. I do love to do nail art & manicures weekly, though!
I have seen women with 2 inch nails playing guitar so is violin that much harder? I’m betting you could figure it out and gain a new set of fans if you could sport 3/4 to 1 inch nails.
I am blessed with strong nails but I cannot tolerate them too long. I think the main reason is that I have to type on my computer for work a lot and constantly make mistakes when they are too long. Drives me nuts! I have a gel manicure every couple of weeks and tend to go shorter these days. As for shape I too prefer the square. Interesting video. Love your designs!

Love your nails, sweetie! I may not grow mine that long, but they have been quite long. As far as the sleep question goes, I never had a problem. Either my hands are on one side of me (if I sleep sideways) or by my side (if I'm on my back). And that's if my nails are short, too.
I can’t seem to find the Nutranail strengthener with green tea for less than $100! Are you still using that one? Have you switched to a different strengthener? Any suggestions? So, I found the videos where you mentioned your new strengthening base coat but I can’t find that one either. Have you switched again? Can you suggest one that you’ve tried?
I know, I can't believe how expensive they're being sold for, I absolutely don't use it anymore. For the love of God- remember to MOISTURIZE YOUR NAILS/HANDS guys! Grew my nails my to the longest I like them. Right now someone woke me up from my sleep at 2:00 am and I sat up- i pressed my hand down and I guess used my finger nail to lift myself up. OUCH! Broke pretty far down and the tissue wanted to pull away from the nail at the tip of my finger :( I think the break is extra bad because I took polish on and off twice in a couple weeks and its flu season so ive been washing my hands often. And so my nails were too dry and didnt flex
I have a very curious question! When I was growing out my nails, I had to hold a pencil on school and they would hurt! And they were shorter than yours! Does it cause you pain to hold a pencil?
I’m a pillow hugger and I sleep on my stomach so my hands are flat under the pillow, I’ve only ever had one bed related break, went to bed with my pinky nail and woke up without it.

My free edge is is not as long as yours (never more than 1 centimeter/half an inch), I usually sleep with my hands and fingers resting straight, sometimes I wake up with clenched fists, so I have "nail marks" in my palms. I once broke a nail in sleep, when I was turning to the other side I hit the wall with my thumb nail quite hard
my thumb nails are one inch in total lenght, index, middle and ring finger nails are less than one inch and pinky finger nails are a little more than half an inch...if you want to see, I have a nail art channel on this acc

I've been growing my nails naturally for 10 yrs. I've never had a problem protecting my nails when I sleep. I don't wake up to breaks. That's an odd question lol. I have 2 cats, never had them break them either 🤔 ppl ask the oddest things when you have nails. Lol. I have hurt my self with my nails if I scratch myself, not in my sleep though. I use gloves when I wash dishes. Never had the gloves bend my nails. Hmm good idea with knuckles n lotion. I hate having lotions in the back 😐

How do you prevent curling?

It's hard 😅 I have a puppy. I garden and I have a kid. So it is very hard to not be mindful of my nails 24/7. One seems to break within about 2 wks.

Love your nails, sweetie! I may not grow mine that long, but they have been quite long. As far as the sleep question goes, I never had a problem. Either my hands are on one side of me (if I sleep sideways) or by my side (if I'm on my back). And that's if my nails are short, too.

I can’t seem to find the Nutranail strengthener with green tea for less than $100! Are you still using that one? Have you switched to a different strengthener? Any suggestions?

I know, I can't believe how expensive they're being sold for, I absolutely don't use it anymore. Unfortunately the Super Greens was discontinued, I'm currently using my half full bottles of random base coat bottles but I'm already searching for a new good brand, as soon as I find one I'll be sure to let you guys know :)
They discontinued the Super Greens & the Nutra Nails has gone up in price where its gotten ridiculous, currently I'm using half full base coat bottles that I had as left overs. As soon as I find a good one I'll be sure to let you guys know : )

For the love of God- remember to MOISTURIZE YOUR NAILS/HANDS guys! Grew my nails my to the longest I like them. Right now someone woke me up from my sleep at 2:00 am and I sat up- i pressed my hand down and I guess used my finger nail to lift myself up. OUCH! Broke pretty far down and the tissue wanted to pull away from the nail at the tip of my finger :( I think the break is extra bad because I took polish on and off twice in a couple weeks and its flu season so ive been washing my hands often. And so my nails were too dry and didnt flex
I have a very curious question! When I was growing out my nails, I had to hold a pencil on school and they would hurt! And they were shorter than yours! Does it cause you pain to hold a pencil?

I’m a pillow hugger and I sleep on my stomach so my hands are flat under the pillow, I’ve only ever had one bed related break, went to bed with my pinky nail and woke up without it.

My free edge is is not as long as yours (never more than 1 centimeter/half an inch), I usually sleep with my hands and fingers resting straight, sometimes I wake up with clenched fists, so I have "nail marks" in my palms. I once broke a nail in sleep, when I was turning to the other side I hit the wall with my thumb nail quite hard
You should go longer. If a nail breaks you simply repair it. No big deal.
longer nails are not comfortable for me, I´ve been growing my nails for 8 years now, so I also have experience with repairing breaks
1 inch is perfect length. How long are yours?
my thumb nails are one inch in total lenght, index, middle and ring finger nails are less than one inch and pinky finger nails are a little more than half an inch...if you want to see, I have a nail art channel on this acc

I've been growing my nails naturally for 10 yrs. I've never had a problem protecting my nails when I sleep. I don't wake up to breaks. That's an odd question lol. I have 2 cats, never had them break them either 🤔 ppl ask the oddest things when you have nails. Lol. I have hurt my self with my nails if I scratch myself, not in my sleep though. I use gloves when I wash dishes. Never had the gloves bend my nails. Hmm good idea with knuckles n lotion. I hate having lotions in the back 😐
I have short nails, but like to watch nail art/manicure videos. Some people who have very long nails actually get asked how they wipe themselves when going to the bathroom; can you believe that?! So inappropriate!
