Los Angeles 1960 I was taking guitar lessons at The Ash Grove on Melrose this was the music I loved.
For some reason my path was changed and forgot how much this music is played from the heart.
Retired now and music is my passion and I have the time to devote to playing the guitar. Keep the videos coming.
I admire anyone who pays tribute to Muddy Waters and his music. Personally, I am too intimidated. Because back in the early '70s I saw Muddy and his band playing in a bar. I sat right up front about six feet away from Muddy and listened to him playing his red Telecaster. He was totally spellbinding. Muddy's guitar playing and singing was incredibly powerful. He was a force of nature and a historical legend. So trying to recreate that amazing energy is impossible. But all the same, I admire your playing and your respect for Muddy and the blues.
37BopCity 2017 yessir!! I love it
37BopCity 2017 👍😎🍺❤️
Lucky bastard lol
I heard when the Rolling Stones were first coming off the plane. When they first visited the States they were asked why did you come here. Their reply to see Muddy Waters, was met with the response. “ where are they.” Just thought you might find it funny.
You are an incredible artist in your own right Tom just incredible!
Long awaited lesson! Thank you Tom!
What a great performance!!!!..thanks Tom!
I've been waiting for this one! Excellent tone and playing man!

Thank you so much Tom!
I just bought the Robert Johnson 3 DVD course, which is excellent! This may well be my next course :)
I have studied this music and tried to play it, and my ear tells me that your renditions are bang on. I always wondered how Muddy played in standard tuning, and you show how it’s done. This instructional video is a great bargain!
the last couple are in standard tuning. You'll notice that he uses a different guitar for those.
This Guy's a goldmine of hot blues licks 🎼🎧🎧🎧✨
What a beautiful Waterloo by Collings..and the playing is even better.
My kind of blues. Thx for posting.
I'm such a Tom Feldmann fan, I buy his instructional DVDs just to hear him play.

Just wanted to say the DVD is worth it folks I've had mine for 3days working on the first song and I'm getting the hang of it I'm no player but this is the kinda playing I want to do anyway I practice 1hr a night just watching pausing picking pausing etc.just the 1 song once I get it to my liking in time I'll move on..Thanks Tom for making easy for us guitar dummies much appreciated
Fantastico!!!
I've just come across this, I have several of Tom's GtrWork Shp DVDs and he is a master of so many different styles, amazing. Just abit of information the arrangement for " I feel like going home" is the one used for Eric Clapton's "Walking Blues" on the unplugged album.
Nice Waterloo!
Just excellent Tom: I already have your great 'Hill Country Blues' and John Lee Hooker courses, but not your great talent on guitar (or singing) unfortunately, so I'm SLOWLY working my way through them! This will be next - if I'm still on the planet 😂! Thanks a bunch for what you've taught me. PS That 'Rolling Stone' was inspired...
thanks, I remember there was this muddy waters in interview from the 70's in LA (the video is floating around here) where he played live, he said lots of cats can play and even play better than him, but they couldn't sing the way he did.
Muddy is God. Nice lessons
Been a Johnny Winter fan most of my adult life...I know now, his major influence!
great
I love your slide lessons, Tom. I've learned so much from them. Is there any chance you could do a lesson on Casey Bill Weldon. I've been trying to get somewhere near his sound on songs like WPA Blues and Guitar Swing and I'm sure you could point me in the right direction.
Not only are you a real fine player you get straight to the music and save all the unnecessary chatting
wow
You're a slider Tommy!!!
Wondering what gauge of strings he's got on the guitars? Not brand Gauge 😁
Who could give this a thumbs down
are those electric guitar strings? what gauge? thanks!!!!
Haven’t seen Tom in years, since small Minneapolis venues. What happened to your hair you used to be a hippie.
I feel like going home, sounds similar to walking blues
Can u do going down to the river Fred McDowell please?
Joshua Huff oh man. Anything by Fred would be hard to just Nail
Guitar Workshop does have a Fred McDowell teaching video, not sure if it is one of Tom's though.

What guitar is he using? Love it for slide
Waterloo KL-S Deluxe
I was fortunate enough to see Muddy Waters "warm up" for Slowhand Armani in Holland decades ago, and Muddy blew EC's merely competent band away!
MUDDY NEVER PLAYED ROLLIN AND TUMBLIN LIKE THAT
Very different style. Very bluesy
Add more light on the neck.
I see Clapton lifted these licks
Everybody lifted these licks!
who said blue men couldn't sing the whites?this guy is so sympathetic towards those guys who started it.
why does slide guitar look so easy,I'm betting it's not lol?
Its not 😂😂😂😂
Its easy and hard all at once. Try it. You can have fun, will you be Tom? No he is a pro. Not everyone can get to that level, but if you are having fun who cares.
great playing but this is not a lesson.
Your lyrics are incorrect
Personally, having read some of the comments, I don't find Muddy Waters particularly sophisticated...in fact compared to Scrapper Blackwell, Lightnin' Hopkins and others I find him very poor. Sorry!
Sorry but that music is so boring and every tune sounds the same
Why comment then? I don’t think you’re listening closely enough.
Dave Fisher this is what real music sounds like
Dave Fisher only a little kid would think anyone cares about what kind of music they like or don't like. You comment is pointless. If you had something to say about the teaching method people might be interested. But nobody cares about what you don't like.
Well fuck off then and go somewhere else.
No.
