The Honda CB550 and CB750 cost under £1000 back in 1977. My dream bike was a Triumph Bonniville also costing the same. I settled for a CB250G5. Lovely bikes back then along with the 2 strokers.
I think the old Honda CD175 had just a speedometer. I believe Triumph also produced the Triple cylindered Trident with raised handlebars aimed for the U.S. market. I knew someone back May 1978, who rode an NVT 175 trials bike. Pretty fast, it was a 2 stroke based on the Yamaha DT175.
Check your valve clearances. There is some noticeable ticking when the camera swings by the right side of the bike.... so probably on #3 or #4. Hold the business end of a screwdriver on each tappet cover while idling... and put your ear on the handle. You will easily be able to determine which valve is ticking. The bike seems to lose power in the upper RPM's too. Run through your 3000 mile maintenance schedule and see if things improve. Good start though! Congrats!
Kyle VanWechel Nah man one thing I've noticed is the sound the Gopro picks up is kinda messed up. Makes everything sound like a sewing machine. Valves are dialed in. Carbs were also not synced when filmed. ..now synced with smaller pods and larger jets..pretty smooth right now.
Super easy to make from an old caster wheel and some pvc. Need to get a real helmet and some riding gear before I get done and take her out of the neighborhood.
Cool! I thought it was some kind of fancy gopro accessory. The interesting thing is, even though it looks like the pole has two ends (one end with some kind of weight on it) I can't see the other end so it looks like you have a drone circling around you.
ya one end has an idler pulley of a car for some weight and washers to fine tune weight. Then I realized it's just easier to move camera. I used the weight so at least both sides were not so long. Weight side needs a cloth or something to catch wins so camera doesn't go behind every time I speed up.
Mark Anderson Glad you got a kick out of it. Really had no expectations. Built the rig for mountain bike but have been apprehensive to use. Rip my head off with a tree. I also didn't forsee higher speeds causing the butt Crack view.

+Michael McCoy I'm guessing the camera was counterbalanced on the other end of the pole, but what device did you use as a gimbal to attach the pole to the helmet? It seems to move so smoothly.
Mark Anderson Just used a caster wheel off of an old broken shop stool. The wheel axle became the pole fulcrum. The pole is pcv and the counter weight is a timing belt idler pulley and some washers for weight adjustment. Weight side needs a piece of fabric to maybe counteract the wind the camera catches. super easy to make with interesting results.
Titled test ride but it looks more like a joy ride! Haha sick man. This got me excited my 73' cb550 build again. Although a little ruckus to put around wouldn't hurt either... Decisions!
Hey, could you let me know which carburetor main jet are you running with the open filters ? Don’t get mine running well with the open filters :-/ Regards from Germany
I think at the time of this video I was running 105s with some issues, needed valve adjust and such. Ive since done valve seals, rings/gaskets etc and now I'm using 110 main jets and using a little better style pod and idle screw out a little further. Just make sure the rubber lip inside pod isn't blocking holes at front of pod. I modified the pods (cut) so they weren't in the way if that makes since. Wish I had factory air box for easier tuning but we all know those aren't cool looking like pods. Yea 110s, check points and valve clearance then sync.
I really don't know. Some sort of drag pipes that were on when I got the bike. Chrome was very pitted. Hi temp paint and exhaust wrap made em look a little better.
Geert Rottier Thanks on the bike. I made the camera mount for my mountain bike but I'm scared to snag it on a tree and yank my neck off. It's definitely a mount for around the hood and not the streets.
The bike is badass. The camera work is great too. Reminds me of playing GTA!! Haha
bobbiesnakes Thanks man! I appreciate it. Still needs a little more love. Never thought about GtA but it totally does!

Bernard Kelar Yes the Triumphs seem pretty neat. I also have a 69 ca160 baby Dream that needs a little more work too.

Be careful about your kickstand when you ride. These bikes don't have a side stand cut off switch. It can quickly turn out to be bad day.
Lol yea for real. First thing I noticed watching it. I think I was definitely distracted by the thing on my head and just getting the bike running.
Yeah that thing on the head was pretty cool though. I too have a CB550 and just a few days ago, I almost set off with the side stand down...lol

That is one of the neatest camera techniques I have seen in a while. How's that Honda handle??
Pretty good. Havn't put too many miles on it yet though. Camera mount cost about 5 bucks for everything at Lowe's. Super easy.
The results of your camera rig had me laughing so hard. Sweet ride. Unintentionally (?) hilarious vid. Thanks!

Haha this video is just too awesome! Like playing a video game haha sweet bike brotha. Definitely makes me want to build one for myself

Love the helmet rig. What exhaust do you have on there?
I really don't know. Some sort of drag pipes that were on when I got the bike. Chrome was very pitted. Hi temp paint and exhaust wrap made em look a little better.
l thought is was a drone chasing you until I saw the shadow of that helmet cam lol
sick video man!!! what state are you in?
Oklahoma. Still have some tuning to do. The camera mount was made for my mountain bike but thought I would try on the cycle.
One unique point of view for a cycle video ;) loving the build man
Hey thanks man. First build but definitely not the last. It was super fun.
haha love the gopro jib! nice work!
Como le da arranque con el pie a un motor grande?
I'll get a better ride video up eventually that also shows some details on the build.
Michael McCoy worst helicopter I've ever seen, ! You'll never leave the ground😀
You look like the dad on Honey I Shrunk the Kids.
Is that camera controlled by u
Daniel Stephen nah man, just on a swivel mount I made, has a counter weight opposite of the camera, really easy to make, search diy swivel mount
That's a nice bike
2019 alguém?
awesome dude..
Do you have any Levi's jeans or leather biker jacket??
Samantha Barton lol uhmm, no leather jacket?
Michael McCoy
So you don't have either??
Ok
Samantha Barton nope, neither. You giving out jackets?
Michael McCoy
Haha😡😡
how many people gunna ride with their sidestands down in these videos, ouch!
Lol that's one heck of an annoying camera mount. Cool bike tho

Is that gta v lmao
Забил лапку поднять.
im dizzy watching this video
Lol
Dont ever make another video using that rediculous camera mount. Sheezus.
