- We took Suzuki's latest supermini for a road test to see how good it is.
Our test cars was the 1.2-litre SHVS (hybrid) with a five-speed manual gearbox in range-topping SZ5 trim.

Concise and informative review. But, i chose a swift over the baleno because i couldn't live with that korean inspired dashboard. But, i acknowledge its far better for family use than the swift.

Greetings from Italy! Here we have problems with suspensions. Suzuki has replaced only some components of the rear suspension system, regardless of the car equipment and production year. The result is that now to suffer is the front suspension system. Do you have any experience to share?

I have this car. I'm not satisfied.I bought it factory new in september 2017.
Maybe i got a bad car, but here are my issues.
7 Months after we bought it, a sensor died, and the car couldn't start.
The rear suspension is making a weird noise when we drive over speed bumps. I have taken it into the shop for it 1 time, and they did something which helped for 2 weeks.
The driver seat has begun making noises whenever i turn to the right. This also happened in a similar model I had for 2 days when my own was at the shop for service.
The autopilot is useless if it's snowing, because the sensor gets covered in dirt (this might be a problem with all cars having adaptive autopilot, i don't know, since it's the first car i have with adaptive autopilot).
The ride is noisy on the highway.
The car began to make a high "singing" noise after 9 months. The suzuki seller charged me money to clean the brakes, because they had collected a lot of dirt and brake dust (it did help though), i just thought the warrenty would cover it. I have never tried that with the two other cars I have owned. Which I had for way longer.
I really don't know why Suzuki a Japanese car maker making these cars in India for the wider international market, particularly the European and UK markets. I agree having driven this car for a couple of months on borrowing and I agree with you. Spot on. I prefer my Nissan Micra, VW Golf, Peugeot 207 Meridian or Vauxhall Astra all of which were good machines.
Why would you say the 1.2 is the top of the range when it isn’t ? The 1.0 has 111bhp. It’s way faster. The top of the range is the sz5 - nothing to do with the engine.
Very good review, I think its fun to drive, its very close with price with Ford Fiesta 1.0 EcoBoost, Fiesta for Europe is from Germany and this Baleno is from India.

It's hardly huge it is 3 9 9 5 mm long which makes it smaller than the i20 and the Polo and the Corsa but a little larger than the swift.

foru only all depends what is key for you. Swift is better and more fun to drive. Baleno is roomier and practical.

i20 but not a huge amount in it. Just drives a little better (in our opinion).

polo or baleno which one is better
Mohit sachdev different cars really. Build quality verses space and tech. New Polo arrives later this year which will be interesting. What is most important to you in a supermini?

Polo is way better. Its the king of hatchbacks. But has less mileage, costlier to maintain, has less space. Resale value isn't good in India. Looks smaller than Baleno.
Basically if in Europe: Polo> Baleno
India: Baleno>Polo
Fiesta beware
