Zoro's spot is well justified. What I believe puts him into Rayleigh tier is when he made the deal with Kuma and when he put his foot down when dealing with Usopp leaving the crew. Both of these acts supported Luffy when he was at a weak point physically or mentally and it kept the crew together and strong.
I' m going to make a case for the one you actually forgot in your video: Gin from the Krieg Armada. Not only was he actually pretty strong for an east-blue pirate (remember he DID manage to defeat Sanji) but he' s also fiercly loyal to his captain to the point that he was actually willing to obey a direct order that would get him killed. In my mind he's too good of a second in command to follow a fool like Don Krieg especially after he knocked out his own captain to have him stop acting like a toddler throwing a temper tantrum.
Doesn't that fall under the same thing as Jango for Kuro, Gin not being completely able to call out the BS done by Don Krieg ? I mean, I get that they were unlucky as fuck to meet Mihawk immediately but still. And then there's the thing where Gin dying would harm the crew even further. At this point his loyalty towards Don Krieg was effectively a bad thing... for Don Krieg and the rest of the crew.

Zoro hands down is the best. When he said the words “we’re not pretending to be pirates, this isn’t a game” really summed up Zoro’s strong foundation to holding his captain accountable after the Ussop turmoil.
You have to love Brook. As Vice Captain despite his lack of strength continued on as captain, kept the crews spirits up even as they died, came back from death and kept his sanity after decades alone to keep a promise to a friend, and is just as loyal with Luffy. despite his age he is still learning and expanding skills and would step in if needed again to lead and has when needed with very clever ideas. He may be looked down upon because of his sophmoric obsession with panties, but I believe that is one of the things that allowed him to keep his sanity. He did not act ike that before his death.
Honestly, Brook deserved to be bumped up to A-tier. Remember, Laboon isn’t just a whale, he is as much a member of the Rumbar Pirates as anyone else. Brook persevered through 50 years of sanity-destroying isolation ENTIRELY to fulfil a promise towards the last remaining member of his crew, whom he had no way of even knowing is even STILL ALIVE. That loyalty alone IMO should bump him up a tier.
Perosphero is kinda like a Vicecaptain. He has the highest Political Power, and took Charge after the big Hungerpain. Katakuri is obviously the true right hand, but Perosphero fullfills a similar role and connects better whit BMs own Personality.
The best right hand is definitely Luffy. He’s strong, reliable, sometimes meat hungry, but he’s always been there for Captain Usopp and his self-fulfilling prophecies

I personally like Benn beckman, because in my opinion his character seems so interesting, he’s also shown with a gun but has never actually fired a shot so that says a lot about his strength
The best vice captain is Brook, so trusted by the Rumbar Pirates he was easily made captain and put in charge of a crew who just went through a huge tragedy, not to mention even when everyone was dying they trusted him to continue the legacy of the Rumbar Pirates with ease. The way I see it trust plays a huge role for vice captains from both captain and crew.
The best vice captain is a three way tie between Ninjin, Piiman, and Tamanegi. They worked together and supported their captain when no one else did. They were happy he got to go and follow his dreams. Despite missing him. What would have happened to Usopp without them?
My respect for King has gone up quite a bit after the most recent chapter. He honestly might be one of the best. That being said my opinion is that Killer is absolutely the best/my favorite VC. He keeps his captain on track, he absolutely loves his captain and would do anything for him, he's powerful, intelligent, and resourceful. Killer truly is a shining example of a great vice captain.

Rayleigh is the best vice-captain so far. He seemed like he not only took on a similar role as Zoro, as in being able to reign in his wild captain, but he also took on the role that normally falls to Nami in the Strawhats. He kept the crew in line because Rodger just couldn't be bothered to. Edit: Also I'm pretty sure you said Sarkis more times than it was said in the anime😂
I would say Rayleigh but its too impossible to ignore Zoro's perfect fulfillment of his role. He's always there when Luffy needs him, but that 'nothing happened' moment clearly secured it for me, representing the pure qualities of a Vice Captain.
I think the best Vice Captain is Brook, because he went through hell and back in order to keep the wishes of his crew alive. He may have not been able to protect his crew, but he is determined to make sure he keeps the flame of his crew's wishes alive.
I think raileigh is the best vice captain because he was the second strongest in the world and he was Rogers strongest in the crew after Roger And he is stronger than Bullet

Katakuri is an amazing vice captain. He has a lot of loyalty towards his family/crew and built up an unbeatable persona for the sake of said crew. Not to mention he is the glue that holds the Big Mom Pirates, even moreso than their own captain. He understands his captain's faults extremely well and gives his all for his crew even if sometimes he has to because of his captain.
Before watching the ranking I would've said Brook, simply because, so many years later, he still keeps the promise made by his entire crew to reunite with Raboon, and I think that is a sign of absolute loyalty. Killer I think (I emphasize I think) has shown little more than total loyalty to his captain, while Marco and Zoro, who also have absolute loyalty to their respective captain ('nothing happened' scene as irrefutable prove), at the same time have their own goals, beyond that loyalty. Mention aside for Rayleigh, who has also shown total loyalty to his captain, and who could probably defeat everything else in combat.
I believe its Katakuri, cuz a vice-captain should take the role of captain when the original captain is incapable of performing his duties and he does so pretty precisely, not to mention almost everyone in his crew looks up to him
I think Rayleigh is the best vice captain because despite being on “equal” footing with Roger and also receiving the title of king, he stayed behind and did his duty at Sabaody waiting for someone to come, so he still basically followed Roger’s orders for 20 years after his death. I think Killer is honestly one of the best vice captains from everything we’ve seen. Similar to Zoro, we’ve seen him willing to sacrifice everything for his crew, but unlike Zoro he’s more focused and careful than his captain over being reckless. And also scythe weapons are cool.
Before Wano, I hardly knew who Killer was. But after all the stuff we saw him go through, squaring off with Kaidou and Big Mom, demolishes Hawkins for the sake of his captain, and managed to do all of that stuff mentioned before while keeping his cool, I legitimately like Killer more than his own captain, let alone his status as a first mate.
To add his reactions alone to the straw hats tells you a great deal of what he must be like, as the events of wano unfold, I feel like Killer sees how crazy similar his crew and luffy’s crew may be. Both have unpredictable hotheaded captains, with a wild story.
I honestly think that while Zoro or Raleigh may be great vice captains, I wholeheartedly believe that Killer is the best vice-captain, because while we haven’t seen a lot of him, the things he’s done, like defeating Basil Hawkins so Kid can fight Big Mom, really paints him in a good light. Additionally, you see Eustass Kid, who is seen as almost always angry, menacing, or something like that have a near-complete breakdown over the state his first mate is in during the Wano arc, so he’s clearly on a different level as both a pirate, and a first mate of Kid’s crew (of which I forgot the name). Plus his design is incredible. I love it with every fibre of my being.
The best vice captain from what I've seen personally is Zoro. At the end of Thriller Bark Arc, when zoro decided without hesitation that he would take all the pain from luffy. That really cemented to me that he will keep pushing with everything he has to make Luffy the Pirate King and obtain One Piece.
Zoro is for me the best vice captain, he is loyal, strong, and a bestfriend to his captain. The one that made me like him more is when he accepted receiving luffy's pain by Bartholomew Kuma.

It depends on your perspective of what the vice captain's role is. For example: Best at maintaining helping the captain reach their dream? Zoro. Best comrade/protector of the crew? Katakuri. Best at taking over the legacy when the captain is gone? Marco. The role seems up to situational interpretation, as are the results. It's like the shortstop position of One Piece pirate culture.
I get what you are saying, but most of the stuff you mentioned can be said about multiple vice captains. For example, you think someone other than zoro wouldn't/didn't help the captain reach their dream, like reileigh, and king. All of them tried/try their best to help their captain achieving their dream of becoming the King of Pirates.
By acts alone, I've gotta say Marco. The guy did amazing under White Beard, and then kept the whole crew together after White Beard's death. That is a very impressive fe4at, keeping the pirates together after Marineford. Plus, he is super powerful. Also pineapples are cool.
The bestest of the vice captains for me is Mr King, just because how well he treats Jack and Queen. This man knows how to keep the crew together and the moral high by constantly arguing with his rather massive Companion. Also recent manga events made him easily one of my favorites just for how cruel and fearsome he can be. I mean, in a crew that is dominated by power alone, this guy is what Kaido needs to keep the others in line.

The best vice captain is Gin of the krieg pirates. He went out to search for food for the dying captain and when he was poisoned by Krieg he still thought he was the right captain and carried the beaten Krieg Off to their ship. And for east blue standards, he was decently strong.
Zoro is the best vice captain as he has similar conqueror aspirations to Luffy which only adds to the crews collective will, and is willing to bear all of his captains pain and suffering in order to save him
I kinda expected Jinbe on that list as well. Even though I find it no where stated I thought it heavily implied that he was Fisher Tigers second in command. You know, considering he was the second one who got a bounty, he took over after the captains death and got the shichibukai title offered by the Marines. Clearly Jinbe would be standing in S-Tier seeing how he stood loyal to his captain after his death as well as taking care of the crew, even if some crew members didn't appreciate the help they got.
Imo the best vice captain is Marco. Not only he have a really deep and close relationship with his captain, being a father-son relationship since Marco was really young, but he also is a powerful member respected and loved by all his crew, and he took care of one of the biggest crews of all time after whitebeard's death. Absolutely loyal and definitely the best vice captain for me
I think Marco is the best, his level of respect from the crew and his loyalty to white beard was unwavering. Combine that with the variety of skills he has makes him a tough one to look past.
rayliegh, a literal dark king who if most pirate captains challenged, he would absolutely destroy, however he has a huge sense of honour and pride when it comes to himself, his captain and his crew
Best Vice Captains is Rayleigh: He's the vice captain of the Pirate King, has the title of a King, knows all forms of Haki and is a living Legend. He is also powerful.
I'd argue that there has been one significant canon female vice-captain: Nico Robin. She was clearly the right hand of Crocodile (or possibly his left hand since that's the one he's missing) within Baroque Works, even if it wasn't technically a pirate crew in the traditional sense. She was the one coordinating the other officers, representing the captain in an ominous way and the only one who was actually aware of his plan while even Daz Bones was in the dark.
Sadly Nico Robin as Vice captain is almost a "Simon tier". She was only a tool for Crocodile and even a worthless one cause she didn't give to him the Uranus info on the Poneglyph.
Watching zoro grow and take on the role of vice captain has been such a treat. I know its a generic answer but zoro's journey to devote himself to luffy's dream has been truly amazing
Katakuri has to be one of the best Vice Captains, an amazing awakened devil fruit, an incredibly cool character that is still arguebly yet to be topped, and the backing of an entire country sized group behind him if needed. He's also got an interesting family and plot that could easily be its own series.

The Thriller Bark Pirates don't have defined ranks though, aside from Moria being the captain and the living members ranking above the non-living members

I am kinda basic but Zoro in Alabasta and Water 7 bought me with his speeches about Luffy and respect. That part was literally why I fell in love with One Piece. The execution of themes in this masterpiece is unmatched.
The absolute best vice captain is Zoro. He's so loyal to Luffy that he's willing to give up his own ambition in order for Luffy to succeed(When he asked Mihawk to train him). He's also taken some tough decisions when his captain was unable to do so (About Usopp in Water 7).

The best vice captain is Zoro since he puts his hopes and dreams aside for Luffy’s goals and provides advice for him like when he stopped Luffy from going after Usopp.
Personally I still see Nami as XO/Vice Captain of the Strawhats and Zoro as Luffys general. Nami does the day to day stuff that keeps the crew and mission running smoothly, she often keeps a somewhat cool head and makes the right decisions, she trusts Luffy and then adapts his insane plans and actions into a reasonable course of action. In all but title Nami IS XO/VC… Zoro is just as likely to jump into the same chaos alongside Luffy and risk everything as he is to just wander off and get lost while completely ignoring the rest of the crew. Meanwhile Nami always has her eyes on the objective and keeping the crew together as best she can. I’m not trying to take anything away from Zoro, he works in his position as General. It’s just that Nami does so much of the day to day minutia like navigating, organizing and budgeting, giving orders whenever Luffy is gone or just off being Luffy and she’s also the only other member to wear the hat. Haha In my mind, in rough level of “importance” to the crew as pirates: Luffy: Captain/Admiral Nami: Executive Officer/Nav/Accountant/Managment and Arborist.,. lol Zoro: General/“Bodyguard” (I say bodyguard because Zoro often picks up on shady people first and he’s quick to act or warn of dangers that Luffy and the others don’t take seriously.)/Lookout. Sanji: Chef/General/Water rescue/Reliable protector of the weakling trio. Franky: Shipwright/Inventor/Tank-Heavy Hitter Chopper: Doctor/Mascott/ Emergency Food. Usopp: Sniper/Lookout/Handyman/Inventor/Botanist. Jimbe: Navigator/Helmsman/Water Rescue/Wisdom and Experience. Robin: Archeologist/Scholar/Wisdom and Maturity Brook: Musician/Lookout/Spy Obviously they all help in different ways too, but they wouldn’t get anywhere without Nami and not just because she’s the Navigator. I'm going to say Zoro. for a few reasons. it helps that we know him the best out of all the other VC's but the main reason is summed up in the water 7 arc. before this it was a group of friends sort of together leaving the big fights to Luffy cause he was strong. After water 7 it was a crew with Luffy as a proper captain and that wouldn't have happened with out Zoro pushing luffy to be the captain they needed him to be rather then just a friend. Because of Zoro they became a proper crew of pirates not just a rag tag group of friends which is sort of what they were before this.
Richie is the best vice captain, after the legendary Buggy D. Clown got stranded, Richie took it apon himself to help the crew move on and seek glory, he was the vice everyone wanted, but didn't deserve.
I would like to list Gin, as an honorable mention, why he is not considered a vice captain he clearly is the second command of the Don Krieg pirates who more or less kept his crew together was "insanely" loyal to them and Krieg and was very strong for that part of the story.

The best vice captain has got to be katakuri. Some crews refer to themselves as family but the big mom pirates are literal family. Katakuri just acts like a dependable older brother and he cares for his family. Not to mention he is strong and a great leader showcased when big mom was out of action for a bit.

Sure you can't deny that Rayleigh it's the perfect vice captain, but I think I would chose Zoro. He protects the crew, is assertive when he needs to, and he's capable of seeing objectively although we know he cares. He complements Luffy, they can both be goofy yes, but Zoro is there to make sure Luffy gets his dream and the crew's dreams acomplished. Also Zoro is the defenition of loyalty, and I really liked how quick that escalated right at the beginning.
Zoro's the best right hand, he legit took all of Luffy's pain literally and figuratively making one of the coolest moments we have had in all of one piece. That fact you can just say "The part in thriller bark where nothing happened" too a fellow one piece watcher speaks enough about the impact it made.

Honestly, I would say Zoro, because his loyalty, strength and relationship with Lufy is next level. They go from a comedic duo to serious individuals in a matter of seconds. That relationship is what captains and vice captains should have.
I'm going to go with Zoro. Although Sanji tends to be more forward thinking and frequently occupies a leadership role when the crew is split up, you can't really blame Zoro for being exactly where he needs to be. Which is by Luffy's side. From Arlong Park to Thriller Bark, Zoro has stood in for his captain time and time again. Arlong was right to be afraid of his future potential, the man who shouldn't be alive, and won't die even if you kill him.
Best Vice Captain is Gin from the Don Kreig pirates. He's cool headed cold hearted demon. He's loyal to his captain and commands the respect of his crew. He was able to go toe to toe with Sanji and one shorted pearl even though he is still not 100%.
Zoro because he was so loyal that he would even leave the pirates (his family) because he thought it was the best decision and was able to clean up for his captains happy go lucky charm
I think that King is the best overall. He has given his entire life to Kaido, because Kaido saved him from being a lab rat. Kaido also puts all of his trust onto him and King shows that he can be trusted. Also being the highest rank on Kaido's crew, shows how powerful he truly is.
honestly im going with Rayleigh, he does hold the title of dark king, also being on par with roger is a huge + in str, not to mention he is a confirmed non DF user which kinda puts him into the top tier of the world imo
The best vice captain in one piece is King. After what we have learned in 1035, you can see that he is not just forced into submission, but truly dedicated to Kaido, and to Kaido’s goal of being the pirate king. King has fought endlessly for the man who saved him, and his dedication is unrivalled, which is why he is the best vice-captain.
Just to post something different, I'll say the best vice is Chopper to Hiriluk's captain role. Chopper was constantly by Hiriluk's side and even went as far as adopting his dream after he passed.

Zoro's spot is well justified. What I believe puts him into Rayleigh tier is when he made the deal with Kuma and when he put his foot down when dealing with Usopp leaving the crew. Both of these acts supported Luffy when he was at a weak point physically or mentally and it kept the crew together and strong.

I' m going to make a case for the one you actually forgot in your video: Gin from the Krieg Armada.
Not only was he actually pretty strong for an east-blue pirate (remember he DID manage to defeat Sanji) but he' s also fiercly loyal to his captain to the point that he was actually willing to obey a direct order that would get him killed. In my mind he's too good of a second in command to follow a fool like Don Krieg especially after he knocked out his own captain to have him stop acting like a toddler throwing a temper tantrum.

You have to love Brook. As Vice Captain despite his lack of strength continued on as captain, kept the crews spirits up even as they died, came back from death and kept his sanity after decades alone to keep a promise to a friend, and is just as loyal with Luffy. despite his age he is still learning and expanding skills and would step in if needed again to lead and has when needed with very clever ideas. He may be looked down upon because of his sophmoric obsession with panties, but I believe that is one of the things that allowed him to keep his sanity. He did not act ike that before his death.
Also he had the courage to fight Big Mom alone knowing well that he would loose.
Honestly, Brook deserved to be bumped up to A-tier. Remember, Laboon isn’t just a whale, he is as much a member of the Rumbar Pirates as anyone else. Brook persevered through 50 years of sanity-destroying isolation ENTIRELY to fulfil a promise towards the last remaining member of his crew, whom he had no way of even knowing is even STILL ALIVE. That loyalty alone IMO should bump him up a tier.

Perosphero is kinda like a Vicecaptain. He has the highest Political Power, and took Charge after the big Hungerpain.

My respect for King has gone up quite a bit after the most recent chapter. He honestly might be one of the best.
That being said my opinion is that Killer is absolutely the best/my favorite VC. He keeps his captain on track, he absolutely loves his captain and would do anything for him, he's powerful, intelligent, and resourceful. Killer truly is a shining example of a great vice captain.

Rayleigh is the best vice-captain so far. He seemed like he not only took on a similar role as Zoro, as in being able to reign in his wild captain, but he also took on the role that normally falls to Nami in the Strawhats. He kept the crew in line because Rodger just couldn't be bothered to.

I would say Rayleigh but its too impossible to ignore Zoro's perfect fulfillment of his role. He's always there when Luffy needs him, but that 'nothing happened' moment clearly secured it for me, representing the pure qualities of a Vice Captain.

Katakuri is an amazing vice captain. He has a lot of loyalty towards his family/crew and built up an unbeatable persona for the sake of said crew. Not to mention he is the glue that holds the Big Mom Pirates, even moreso than their own captain. He understands his captain's faults extremely well and gives his all for his crew even if sometimes he has to because of his captain.

Before watching the ranking I would've said Brook, simply because, so many years later, he still keeps the promise made by his entire crew to reunite with Raboon, and I think that is a sign of absolute loyalty. Killer I think (I emphasize I think) has shown little more than total loyalty to his captain, while Marco and Zoro, who also have absolute loyalty to their respective captain ('nothing happened' scene as irrefutable prove), at the same time have their own goals, beyond that loyalty. Mention aside for Rayleigh, who has also shown total loyalty to his captain, and who could probably defeat everything else in combat.

I think Rayleigh is the best vice captain because despite being on “equal” footing with Roger and also receiving the title of king, he stayed behind and did his duty at Sabaody waiting for someone to come, so he still basically followed Roger’s orders for 20 years after his death. I think Killer is honestly one of the best vice captains from everything we’ve seen. Similar to Zoro, we’ve seen him willing to sacrifice everything for his crew, but unlike Zoro he’s more focused and careful than his captain over being reckless. And also scythe weapons are cool.

Before Wano, I hardly knew who Killer was. But after all the stuff we saw him go through, squaring off with Kaidou and Big Mom, demolishes Hawkins for the sake of his captain, and managed to do all of that stuff mentioned before while keeping his cool, I legitimately like Killer more than his own captain, let alone his status as a first mate.
To add his reactions alone to the straw hats tells you a great deal of what he must be like, as the events of wano unfold, I feel like Killer sees how crazy similar his crew and luffy’s crew may be. Both have unpredictable hotheaded captains, with a wild story.
I honestly think that while Zoro or Raleigh may be great vice captains, I wholeheartedly believe that Killer is the best vice-captain, because while we haven’t seen a lot of him, the things he’s done, like defeating Basil Hawkins so Kid can fight Big Mom, really paints him in a good light. Additionally, you see Eustass Kid, who is seen as almost always angry, menacing, or something like that have a near-complete breakdown over the state his first mate is in during the Wano arc, so he’s clearly on a different level as both a pirate, and a first mate of Kid’s crew (of which I forgot the name).
Plus his design is incredible. I love it with every fibre of my being.

The best vice captain from what I've seen personally is Zoro. At the end of Thriller Bark Arc, when zoro decided without hesitation that he would take all the pain from luffy. That really cemented to me that he will keep pushing with everything he has to make Luffy the Pirate King and obtain One Piece.

Best comrade/protector of the crew? Katakuri.

The role seems up to situational interpretation, as are the results. It's like the shortstop position of One Piece pirate culture.
I get what you are saying, but most of the stuff you mentioned can be said about multiple vice captains. For example, you think someone other than zoro wouldn't/didn't help the captain reach their dream, like reileigh, and king. All of them tried/try their best to help their captain achieving their dream of becoming the King of Pirates.
By acts alone, I've gotta say Marco. The guy did amazing under White Beard, and then kept the whole crew together after White Beard's death. That is a very impressive fe4at, keeping the pirates together after Marineford. Plus, he is super powerful. Also pineapples are cool.
The bestest of the vice captains for me is Mr King, just because how well he treats Jack and Queen.
This man knows how to keep the crew together and the moral high by constantly arguing with his rather massive Companion.

The best vice captain is Gin of the krieg pirates. He went out to search for food for the dying captain and when he was poisoned by Krieg he still thought he was the right captain and carried the beaten Krieg Off to their ship. And for east blue standards, he was decently strong.
Zoro is the best vice captain as he has similar conqueror aspirations to Luffy which only adds to the crews collective will, and is willing to bear all of his captains pain and suffering in order to save him

I kinda expected Jinbe on that list as well. Even though I find it no where stated I thought it heavily implied that he was Fisher Tigers second in command. You know, considering he was the second one who got a bounty, he took over after the captains death and got the shichibukai title offered by the Marines.
Clearly Jinbe would be standing in S-Tier seeing how he stood loyal to his captain after his death as well as taking care of the crew, even if some crew members didn't appreciate the help they got.
Imo the best vice captain is Marco. Not only he have a really deep and close relationship with his captain, being a father-son relationship since Marco was really young, but he also is a powerful member respected and loved by all his crew, and he took care of one of the biggest crews of all time after whitebeard's death. Absolutely loyal and definitely the best vice captain for me
I think Marco is the best, his level of respect from the crew and his loyalty to white beard was unwavering. Combine that with the variety of skills he has makes him a tough one to look past.

Best Vice Captains is Rayleigh: He's the vice captain of the Pirate King, has the title of a King, knows all forms of Haki and is a living Legend. He is also powerful.
I'd argue that there has been one significant canon female vice-captain: Nico Robin. She was clearly the right hand of Crocodile (or possibly his left hand since that's the one he's missing) within Baroque Works, even if it wasn't technically a pirate crew in the traditional sense. She was the one coordinating the other officers, representing the captain in an ominous way and the only one who was actually aware of his plan while even Daz Bones was in the dark.
Sadly Nico Robin as Vice captain is almost a "Simon tier". She was only a tool for Crocodile and even a worthless one cause she didn't give to him the Uranus info on the Poneglyph.
Watching zoro grow and take on the role of vice captain has been such a treat. I know its a generic answer but zoro's journey to devote himself to luffy's dream has been truly amazing

Katakuri has to be one of the best Vice Captains, an amazing awakened devil fruit, an incredibly cool character that is still arguebly yet to be topped, and the backing of an entire country sized group behind him if needed. He's also got an interesting family and plot that could easily be its own series.

Controversial: Absalom is a great Vice Captian. Controls the Strongest Zombies of Moria. Rescues his Captian, Has a seep enough bond for Moria to come and try to rescue him from Blackbeard. Moria did not go for his adoptive daughter over him.
The Thriller Bark Pirates don't have defined ranks though, aside from Moria being the captain and the living members ranking above the non-living members

I am kinda basic but Zoro in Alabasta and Water 7 bought me with his speeches about Luffy and respect. That part was literally why I fell in love with One Piece. The execution of themes in this masterpiece is unmatched.
The absolute best vice captain is Zoro. He's so loyal to Luffy that he's willing to give up his own ambition in order for Luffy to succeed(When he asked Mihawk to train him). He's also taken some tough decisions when his captain was unable to do so (About Usopp in Water 7).

Personally I still see Nami as XO/Vice Captain of the Strawhats and Zoro as Luffys general.
Nami does the day to day stuff that keeps the crew and mission running smoothly, she often keeps a somewhat cool head and makes the right decisions, she trusts Luffy and then adapts his insane plans and actions into a reasonable course of action. In all but title Nami IS XO/VC…
Zoro is just as likely to jump into the same chaos alongside Luffy and risk everything as he is to just wander off and get lost while completely ignoring the rest of the crew.
Meanwhile Nami always has her eyes on the objective and keeping the crew together as best she can.
I’m not trying to take anything away from Zoro, he works in his position as General. It’s just that Nami does so much of the day to day minutia like navigating, organizing and budgeting, giving orders whenever Luffy is gone or just off being Luffy and she’s also the only other member to wear the hat. Zoro: General/“Bodyguard” (I say bodyguard because Zoro often picks up on shady people first and he’s quick to act or warn of dangers that Luffy and the others don’t take seriously.)/Lookout.
Sanji: Chef/General/Water rescue/Reliable protector of the weakling trio.
Franky: Shipwright/Inventor/Tank-Heavy Hitter
Chopper: Doctor/Mascott/ Emergency Food.
Usopp: Sniper/Lookout/Handyman/Inventor/Botanist.
Jimbe: Navigator/Helmsman/Water Rescue/Wisdom and Experience.
Robin: Archeologist/Scholar/Wisdom and Maturity
Brook: Musician/Lookout/Spy
Obviously they all help in different ways too, but they wouldn’t get anywhere without Nami and not just because she’s the Navigator.

I'm going to say Zoro. for a few reasons. it helps that we know him the best out of all the other VC's but the main reason is summed up in the water 7 arc. before this it was a group of friends sort of together leaving the big fights to Luffy cause he was strong. After water 7 it was a crew with Luffy as a proper captain and that wouldn't have happened with out Zoro pushing luffy to be the captain they needed him to be rather then just a friend. Because of Zoro they became a proper crew of pirates not just a rag tag group of friends which is sort of what they were before this.

Richie is the best vice captain, after the legendary Buggy D. Clown got stranded, Richie took it apon himself to help the crew move on and seek glory, he was the vice everyone wanted, but didn't deserve.
I would like to list Gin, as an honorable mention, why he is not considered a vice captain he clearly is the second command of the Don Krieg pirates who more or less kept his crew together was "insanely" loyal to them and Krieg and was very strong for that part of the story.

If Luffy dies don't you think Zoro will want to live on as the captain of the straw hat pirates, Luffy was the only one that didn't look at Zoro as a Murderer or Theft (those things are common in a pirate but Zoro used to hate pirates until Luffy came)

The best vice captain has got to be katakuri. Some crews refer to themselves as family but the big mom pirates are literal family. Katakuri just acts like a dependable older brother and he cares for his family. Not to mention he is strong and a great leader showcased when big mom was out of action for a bit.
I think that trebol is probably the best vice captain since he was there for doflamingo since the start and help him go from nothing to a warlord.

The best right hand man has to be marco, he fulfilled and is still following whitebeard's wish which was to help and protect luffy.

Best vice captain is Camel, he takes after his captain Aokiji extraordinarily well and their compatibility is off the charts.
Sure you can't deny that Rayleigh it's the perfect vice captain, but I think I would chose Zoro. He protects the crew, is assertive when he needs to, and he's capable of seeing objectively although we know he cares. He complements Luffy, they can both be goofy yes, but Zoro is there to make sure Luffy gets his dream and the crew's dreams acomplished. Also Zoro is the defenition of loyalty, and I really liked how quick that escalated right at the beginning.
Zoro's the best right hand, he legit took all of Luffy's pain literally and figuratively making one of the coolest moments we have had in all of one piece. That fact you can just say "The part in thriller bark where nothing happened" too a fellow one piece watcher speaks enough about the impact it made.

Zoro is the best imo... He actually took Luffy's pain at Thriller Bark and he's very crucial in the rise of the Straw Hats. The things he's been doing in Wano 😮💨. He's also my favorite character 🙂
Best vice captain has got to be Brook, as the vice-captain of the Rumbar Pirates
As a vice captain, Brook was shown to be, next to the captain, a huge driving force of motivation for the Rumbar Pirates, and was able to make hard decisions with Yorki for the sake of the crew (goodbye Laboon ;-;)
Even when half the crew had died to a plague, and the rest of the crew were stranded in the middle of a cursed part of the ocean with no hope of escape, Brook kept the while crew smiling and playing their instruments until the moment they died.

Marco is a walking cheatcode. Flames, logia, ancient zoan, heal, can fly and so on. He catches all eyes so thats why i love to see him everytime he appears

Honestly, I would say Zoro, because his loyalty, strength and relationship with Lufy is next level. They go from a comedic duo to serious individuals in a matter of seconds. That relationship is what captains and vice captains should have.
I'm going to go with Zoro. Although Sanji tends to be more forward thinking and frequently occupies a leadership role when the crew is split up, you can't really blame Zoro for being exactly where he needs to be. Which is by Luffy's side. From Arlong Park to Thriller Bark, Zoro has stood in for his captain time and time again. Arlong was right to be afraid of his future potential, the man who shouldn't be alive, and won't die even if you kill him.

Best Vice Captain is Gin from the Don Kreig pirates. He's cool headed cold hearted demon. He's loyal to his captain and commands the respect of his crew. He was able to go toe to toe with Sanji and one shorted pearl even though he is still not 100%.

He has given his entire life to Kaido, because Kaido saved him from being a lab rat. Kaido also puts all of his trust onto him and King shows that he can be trusted.

honestly im going with Rayleigh, he does hold the title of dark king, also being on par with roger is a huge + in str, not to mention he is a confirmed non DF user which kinda puts him into the top tier of the world imo

After what we have learned in 1035, you can see that he is not just forced into submission, but truly dedicated to Kaido, and to Kaido’s goal of being the pirate king. King has fought endlessly for the man who saved him, and his dedication is unrivalled, which is why he is the best vice-captain.
Just to post something different, I'll say the best vice is Chopper to Hiriluk's captain role. Chopper was constantly by Hiriluk's side and even went as far as adopting his dream after he passed.
