- This is a re-edit of a trip I did in November of 2023, directly after I quit my job. I shot it as three separate videos, but during the trip I recorded everything in between each camping location. This version includes never before seen content, so that you can watch the video as I experienced it. A six day road trip to three camping locations.
Thank you all so much for watching. I hope you enjoy this trip as much as I did.

Thank you all so much for watching. I hope you enjoy this trip as much as I did.
Idky this video reminded me of a video you did a while back and had some car troubles from a tiny little car. What's the date on that video? Love the real content !
Sam, I like your voice overs!
The dude abides. Sorry I've been absent. On dialysis and nearing the end of my days. Look forward to your videos. Be well.
Brother I'm so sorry to hear that man. Definitely keeping you in thoughts friend ❤️ Send me an email and I'll send you links to some patreon content: sam.rotroff@gmail.com
@@CampingwithSamBananas email sent and thank you
Sorry to hear that❤
Yikes. Pass well, brother. I hope it’s peaceful with no regrets.
Prayers for you, Dude. I believe in miracles. Do you? My grandson is wailing on a kidney (s). He’s 25. And, you’re right. The Dude abides. 🙏❤️
It’s not about the journey it’s about the fine details that go along with it. You’ve had a wonderful adventure in six days, I look forward to the next one!
Thanks so much man!
Camping in a rainforest has it's drawbacks . Wet , wet , wet . Thanks for the trip Mr Bananas
Sure does. Go look at cost to cost missing 411.
Thanks for watching!
For the sake of the banana flask!!! I love ya Sammy!!! You rock my world man!
PS thank you brother!!!
Love how Sam takes you with him everywhere he goes. Thinking about hitting E-Bay to buy a bannana flask..lol....Oh yeah, man, I'd love to try Mrs. Bananna's dehydrated chili. Every time Sam makes that, it looks so good.
Woot! Woot! Check out my description I have. A link for the banan flask
Sam, you the Man!! But then again, YOUR SAM BANNAS!!!!!!!
Haha you got that right 😉
Great video Sam. I enjoy all of your videos. A man sure needs to be in shape for a lot of those hikes. I love that ending tune. Leaning. Thanks again

Hey Sam your literally camping in my backyard I'm watching you from Washington State
Nice 👍
If you’re going to do YT full time I would say you did it right- make your initial full time content creator video exploring Washington. Sights are spectacular!
It really is beautiful there. I hope to go back soon.
Hi Sam what a beautiful video 😇 my kids loved the salmon swimming across the street. That was amazing. Your videos are so good. That shots are so good. Everything you show is amazing. Thank you for sharing that letting us see it. See you next week.

At 29 minutes 54 seconds, you have inadvertently captured a UFO taking off from the water.
WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?!
🤣 just a light flare on the lens brother ✌️
@@CampingwithSamBananas 🤣🤣

Yes, you are right---that chili must be great!

Great video, Sam!
I know it turned out fine, but that car dome light on all night gave me heartburn 😂
Haha no I turned it off after the camera was off 🤣 thanks for watching friend!
Really Good videos Sam B I like it alot Buddy.!
Thanks a ton!
Love ur videos. The rainy ones are the best. Me and my hubby stayed in tent for six months due to being homeless. It wasnt all bad. We had a few rainy days and one very icy day and night. The icy one was scary. Keep up the good work!
@54:28 ..... Very interesting !!!! Poor Salmon !
It was nuts! That's nature though I suppose 🤷♂️
Dude like I said you’re rain man

Oh my God, I’m rolling ! I live on Mount Rainier and we have mice all over the place, but that was just classic. I love it.
Thank you for joining!
My favorite place of all time..
👍👍
Smart camping with a friend. As a wife this would make me feel a lot better.
Hi Sam, hope Mrs Bananas is well! Great Video, epic scenery, sorry you got so soggy. I hear you blike Simon a bloke in the woods, a fave of the wife's
Have you seen "Camping with Josh"? Blessings Mid Wales😃🍌🍌
Hi from Mrs 🍌! Yes I do like Camping with Josh for sure 👍
I thoroughly enjoyed your video. Great views! Great experiences! The Pacific Northwest is beautiful, but you're always welcome back in Michigan. Keep up the good work Sir.
Thanks man! I'll be back in Michigan very soon👍
incredible scenery.. good luck with new Job at "camping with Sam Bananas INC" ya gotta pump em out now brother...keep em coming .. best wishes.
Thank you
30:47 kind of sounds like dandelion, although it does have some good health benefits
Yep that was dinner on the road. I'd a picked up my limit for sure.
Thanks Sam. Great video, amazing views and scenery. But, too much rain for me, and I'm from England originally 😂😂😂
Haha I hear ya!
Hi Sam... Thanks for the video. Ref., that truck in the middle of the night: that would have tripped my ah detector, and would have immediately called the make/model/color/tag in. Sounds like some locals getting opportunistic. Be safe. Hey Mrs. B!
That could have been! Also hi from Mrs 🍌
I love it out here on the Olympic Peninsula. Land of slugs and sasquatch. In November it's definitely the Pacific North WET! Thank you for showing such a beautiful place through the Bananavision lens!
Thanks for watching my friend!
Welcome to the PNW, one of my MOST favorite wilderness areas period. Although the rain and chill can get to you especially in old age. You picked a late season hike, thats usually about the time red tomatoes start dropping of the vine, then frost hits and the remainder burst.
The lurkers are rare but around, I've had one experience with one outside Clatscanie, OR. Shining headlights into pickup camper, lurking then pealing off spitting gravel on my truck. Hard not to shoot back, if you don't nip that behavoir in the bud they'll harrass somebody else as well. No brains, no life and way too much time on their hands. He may have been scouting your vehicle, looking for a solitary female or just playing stupid mind intimidation games. It always P.O.'s me but you don't want a confrontation unless you can back it up. Hate to say it, but you did the right thing.
I always stealth camp anymore, have most my life. People can pass 15-20' away and not know you there, but a little distance is better. If you can hear or see your neighbors they're too close!👍
Forest maps of the areas make a big difference in your exploration and planning.
Thanks for watching Dan! And think you're right as well
Looks like you’d have FAR MORE chance of finding Bigfoot than finding some sunshine… Ain’t much fun hiking and camping in the rain… 😂 I DO appreciate that you made the most of a dreary trip!! 👍👍
Haha yep! We had that one nice day and it was like an oasis of weather 🤣
Be careful out there in grizzly country and carry plenty of bear repellent with you.
6:42 - Watching Sam figuring out how his rainmaking superpowers work is a lot like witnessing Superman learn to fly or Spiderman's first try at web-slinging - Greatly looking forward to the Killian origin story next! 😉
Haha nice man 🤣👍
I’m enjoying your journey, you’re in my back yard. An awesome addition to car camping would be a gazebo. They fold up pretty small and are a great cover on rainy days. Remember, we all learn as we go along, and learning is half the fun . Happy travels !
Thanks for the tips!
Another great video my friend. I started a UA-cam Channel so my name changed on here. Got a couple of shorts I’m uploading with your name on them. 😁
Very cool!
Beautiful arear
It really is!
Dear friend you’re the greatest on adventure camping world thank you so much for andGOD blessed you and your sweet family
A great thanks from Glendale California Jirayer
Thanks so much
What has happened with your friend Small Plots with Kevin ? He has not posted anything lately. Just curious but keep up the good work Sam . Maybe you can do a trip with Matthew Posa .
I'd LOVE to do a video with Matt. He's a big influence of mine, I love his goofiness. As for Kevin, he just did a live stream last week and he's got a video coming out soon. He's started a new job and is cleaning up freelance projects that were hanging around. He's hoping to get back to regular uploads very soon but you should see a video from him tonight!!!
Washington, the Evergreen state, because of the rain.
Your editing is excellent---- a lot of work on top of everything else you do. Your videos make me feel like I am THERE ! Thank you
Thank you for that!!!
Wow. Go figure. Sam Bananas finally has some banana flavored hooch. 👍 It's about time. Enjoy. Being out in the rain means you get to enjoy nocturnal animals during the day.
Woo hoo!
It wouldn’t be an adventure if things went as planned Sam. You survived the typical Northwest Forest!
🫡
Another awesome video Sam👍 The PNW sure is beautiful. Thanks for sharing brother
Thanks for watching!
Enjoyed the experience you have just given to us. I have only driven around this area. I was trailer camping and it rained for 6 days. Thank you for capturing the lush flora!
Haha yep! It always rains up there 🤣
Sam, fairly new to the channel. Have you made a video showing how to do different types of knots? I am not proficient in knots, would be a great video of knots and such.
No but I should
Beautiful scenery and terrific everything Sam. I hope you travel wide and free and show us more beauty and interesting things. All the best. Stay safe and well from me in Australia.😊
Thank you!
I hope you can do stuff like this forever ! So happy for you
Hey Sam I forgot to ask you on my last comment did you have any success on finding out why your alcohol stove was giving you such problems? I have one I don’t cook with it all the time but when I do it always serves me well. I have gotten my best burn using “Heat” automotive dry gas that you put in your tank to absorb water Comes in a yellow bottle. Alcohol burns well also but Heat just a little better. Good luck
Hey bud! The main problem is rubbing alcohol doesn't perform well and that's what I was using. I've switched to denatured alcohol and that works great. I'll check out that Heat stuff too
Well hello Sam Banana 🍌 it's always amazing to see you're camping video to let you know you do amazing video
Thank you!!
Heyy Sam and Rob beautiful scenery the waterfall was amazing, awesome video thanks for sharing stay safe
Thanks for watching!
Don't normally watch videos this long, but it was well worth it! Thanks, Sam👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Top class video, top class channel. Gets better and better, really enjoyed it. Thanks Sam !!! 😂
Thank you so much for that!
Awesome video Sam just what we all needed!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Sorry about the knife . But thanks for the info on the tang. Hey. Do a bone handle knife. All you need is one shed of a deer. Re-qwench the blade in oil. The put in oven at 450 for two hours then fix handle. Might even be better. Red hot quench . Then temper in oven.
All good, I got a new one, they are only like $20. In laws got it for me for Christmas
Some of the weirdest camping food I've ever seen
Epic
Faber!!! 👋
You said you would fish, filleting it with your car doesnt count 😳😀.what did the male tree fungus say to the female tree fungus...i be lichen it. 🙄
🤣
34:05 where is that Sriracha packet found? I love condiments camping and that perfect
Hi Eric! I'm not 100% sure where I found it, I just always keep an eye out for that type of stuff when I'm at like fast casual type of restaurants
Bringing back memories of a 10 day camping trip in Northern Michigan. Rained every day. Day 8 we gave up and rented a cabin.
❤️
Amazing video as always. Keep smiling in nature.
🫡
when shtf places like that will be crawling with people
I just want to know what make you guys quit ur jobs to do UA-cam is it that good being a UA-camr first I heard lost lakes story a bout quitting his job now you I think I need to start a UA-cam channel any tips ?
It's really about being able to do what you love. I made videos for my channel for 3 years while working a full time job. Once I felt like I had momentum, I took the plunge. The job was great, but I wanted to pursue my passion.
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! May not taste good but rose hips are high in vit C.
Nice 👍
I like Sam, the amount of commercials in his videos are absolutely brutal though.
loved ya video sam and wow what stunning scenery, sucks it rained so much for ya but it did make for a good video, cant wait for the next video, hope you and mrs bananas have a great holiday xo
Thanks so much!
Let’s go fishing please and thank you♥️💯👍🏾
👍👍
Watching from 🏴 UK...👍🍌
🫡
Ahhh so easy to watch… you’re a gem….do you carry bear spray in dont see it attached as you hike, please do buddy ! And shout out to Rob !
Yes I always have it in these areas and it's on my belt. I even carry it on my belt in the car camping video. Wouldn't want to run into a bear without it. Thank you so much for watching!
Thanks Sam for another great video. The scene with the salmon trying to spawn was incredible I have never before seen or heard anything like this
Thank you! I was blown away too
We made a lot of those naan pizzas with the toaster oven.
I think that's about the only thing we ever used the toaster oven for actually.
Haha fair 🤣
0:06 once again congratulations and keep pressing forward
Thank you!
Hey Sam what happened to your buddy Kevin his channel like dead
He just did a live. He'll have a video out later this week.
Great video. FYI you are on the Sound side of the park, not as much rain.
Thanks! Yep I'm on the south side even though some of these locations are 4+ hour drives apart. Yikes!
Hi Sam, I always enjoy your adventures. Have a great weekend.
Appreciate you man!
24:54 looks comfortable and therapeutic all in one
It was!
Since you quit job what going to about money situation? You got have money to travel and eat, gas.
Yeah I make money from doing UA-cam. So far, so good!
90% alcohol is much better than 70% for your alcohol stove
Yes sir!
Man, I camped up there a few times many years ago - I'm so happy you got to experience those grounds, man. I ran into goats up there, too. I won't forget it. 😂 Anyhow, I had a question. Do those straps stay secure or do they slide and ya gotta adjust them now and again? I've got about a 40lb load out if you add fuel and food, I've gotta get a new bag. Mine is falling apart. 😅
Seeing goats would have been cool! I didn't see a ton of wildlife. As for the pack, the straps do slide a bit. Not terrible but you do have to adjust them occasionally. I've put up with it because the pack is loaded with some many features. You can open it up from the side and access the inside. Check the link in my description to check out some photos. For the price I think it's a good deal and it's Amazon so if you don't like it just return it.
Ah, I wonder if that could be fixed with a ranger band, ya know? Like, maybe .5 inch ranger band on the straps like a stopper. Think that'd work?
19:07 beautiful trail I decided to rewatch while out hiking from the trail as a little extra motivation. Cheers.
Cheers!
@@CampingwithSamBananas nothing better than a little sip off the old banana flask cheers, my friend
What made you want to come to the state of Washington let alone to the Olympic Rain Forest
Probably the beautiful nature and world class geology
