    Should we put any coolant in the reservoir prior to finishing?

    Awesome vid man! Couple of questions. Any pro/cons to using teflon tape on the cap and nipple threads? Would the install be any different on the VT750C2B? What about reusing or replacing the hose clamp(s) on the hoses attached to the UCOR nipples? Ok thats three questions. Thanks in advance!

    • @TJBRUTALCUSTOMS
      @TJBRUTALCUSTOMS  9 місяців тому

      Thanks for the comment! No need for T-Tape. the tank isnt pressurized. theres an actual HOLE in the cap sooooo teflon tape for the threads is a waste of resources. install is virtually the same on other bikes. not sure what you mean by reusing or replacing the clamps? you dont need hose clamps on them because, again, the tank isnt pressurized.

      @@TJBRUTALCUSTOMS Thanks for the reply! I was asking about spring clamps on the hoses as they were there before. Thanks again!

    • @TJBRUTALCUSTOMS
      @TJBRUTALCUSTOMS  9 місяців тому +1

      @@johnjwade you don't need any kind of clamp on the hoses going to the ucor, i dont like re-using old hardware so if i use a hose clamp, its new, and stainless.

    Hi TJ currently building my steed. Before I purchased my bike the previous owner had removed the reserve tank. I’m running a dual carb. Where would the fuel lines from the gas tank run to the carbs? Cheers for the videos all the way from New Zealand 🇳🇿

    Besides the looks, is there any other reason to replace the stock tank?
    Thanks for the video by the way.

    • @skyjac92
      @skyjac92 9 місяців тому +3

      One bonus is once the stock overflow tank is removed, gives you a nice low spot to move your battery to.

    • @TJBRUTALCUSTOMS
      @TJBRUTALCUSTOMS  9 місяців тому +3

      Great question! Yes, the stock tanks can crack, and hold sediment that gets sucked into your system, theres a ton of hose going back there and removing the stock tank drastically simplifies the system which means less propensity for failure!

      @@TJBRUTALCUSTOMS I hear ya, my biggest interest in do that exchange is for something much simpler than your explanation here. Man I do hate the fact that my Shadow 600 bottom chassis is uneven and that stock plastic tank is actually below the chassis and on the way to lift my bike with my flat jack.
