Our travel vlog mission around the Thai islands has been an interesting one, but today we finally found what we were looking for - Koh Lanta!
Koh Lanta island aka Ko Lanta is one of the most relaxing places in Thailand we've visited, it's got an extremely laid back feeling to it, it's commercialised to an extend, but largely still a traditional Thai Island not overly developed for travel and tourism. If people ask us what we look for when we travel and create a vlog - it's sort of this, chill, relaxed, local, but with some luxury and western elements on top.

My wife and I were took a vacation from our vacation in Chiang Mai to Koh Lanta a few years ago. We planned 5 days there and stayed for 18. It was so relaxed and laid back!

What place/beach would you suggest to spend some days for a family?
We will go KohLanta this summer for few days, but unfortunately, I know during this period, swimming in the sea is not the best thing to do.

Appreciate the kind words! Our next video (tonight or tomorrow) will show you a few beach options - we went to Bamboo beach and there was barely anyone there. The drive down the West coast is nice, lots of little spots you can pull into and enjoy the beach.

We NEARLY went to Koh Lipe, kind of regret not doing so now after how busy Krabi and Railay were. Will have to come back

I like KOh lanta I think it’s one of the chill place even I’m from Phuket. In thai island is more slow.
If you had to choose between Bali and Thailand, which would you stay longer term? Why?
Govinda Thailand its more tropical and larger country with more beaches but everyone’s different. There’s something really peaceful about Thailand and is probably on par with my favourite country’s in se Asia with Myanmar
Thanks Jamie. I've been to Thailand 7 times and am about to head to Bali for my 4th in a few days. I lean towards Bali but love Thailand. Since Dane and Stacey have pretty much done them back to back, I'm curious what they think.
@Govinda thats a really tough one. Thailand has much better accom options and we like the food more. Bali has a 'cool feeling' you cant really put your finger on and the Nusas and Gilis/Lombok have nicer water than we've found in Thailand. We're torn because we love the casual beachy vibe like Lanta & Canggu offer but Chiang Mai is our fav place hands down.
I have to do the north of Thailand that’s for sure and your not wrong about the colour of the water there’s one beach in Lombok I was mesmerised it’s in south of Lombok. Guilty pleasure... I love Koh Samui
@@DaneAndStacey I have been to Chiang Mai and loved it too, but the dirty air got to me after a few weeks. I was there in late July and August, so not even burning season. I have my eye on Koh Lanta so watched your video, very well done and thank you. Are there a lot of places to eat that aren't westernized or geared toward farangs? Is there much in terms of street food? Thanks again for the great review of this place.
Great video , if thats the welfare centre we went to , the woman who founded it has a restaurant called Time for Lime that helps to fund the centre .

P.S. You're going to hate Phuket. LOL. I will be there again in April becasue I train Muay Thai there but I just don't see you liking it there at all. I don't even like it- there are better places in Thailand but I do like training there.

We went to the sanctuary, but as our boys were under 18 we couldn't walk the dogs only play with the cats in kitty city
